Easter Sunday

Post by Harriet »

Easter is here! Sunrise services, worship and praise,
Easter baskets and egg hunts.

And Passover continues with its unleavened bread.

What's going on with your family today?

Happily, I got an email greeting out to a dcousin in time for Easter. He has been on my mind. He lives the most distant of any of my cousins and I fear he is lonely.

I don't believe the service on the lawn was recorded - at least it is not yet uploaded. Interested to see the "flower cross" that will have been decorated (?) made (?) right after Sunrise Service on the lawn this morning. Really don't know how they are doing it, but people were invited to bring flowers this morning. I think it will be in the sanctuary for the regular worship.

We are hopeful for a visit from dd26 and dsonil today.

Although it was not my intention at all, we will have a delivery of one item today. I ordered more than one thing and had to choose from two varieties of delivery and the other one put some items so far out that it was genuinely a problem. Gee, didn't mean to make anyone deliver on Easter.

I still have a dh who simply does not feel well. One way or another I must be at an early appt tomorrow, and this time there are multiple reasons I am required to have a driver. Really don't know how this is going to go. We may be forced to throw it open to all the children and ask them to sort it out.

Ohh Harriet. I know it's hard to ask for help. I'm sure the kids will step in. Do you know what is going on with dh? And I have come in after the fact of your illness and treatment. I hope you can get through it.

So glad your dd helped with the cleaning yesterday. Is this going to be longterm that your strength and energy struggle? Maybe it's worth pursuing some housekeeping help. It would help you feel better if things stay a little better kept. I know whenever I get to dad's I can run through my morning routine here and then all over again out there. He tries. Not supposed to wear himself out.

We've had a nice weekend with the kids around. Visiting. Making food. A weiner roast at dad's yesterday that was almost too much for him. Oops 😬 and dd and dsil thoroughly enjoying their baby nephew while they are here.

Today we'll do church. Ds and ddil likely will go to her family and spend the day with them. We'll bake hot cross buns and use leftovers for food and relax. Tomorrow we will do a get together here with the whole family.

Hi! Thank you for starting us off this morning Harriet!!

I was up too early with one of the cat's scratching at the bedroom door. She can't tell time and didn't know it wasn't even 6 a.m. yet. After dh and I had our coffee and tea, we both went back to bed and I got a bit more sleep. When I cam back to the computer there were 2 chocolate bars on the keyboard. Dh and I agreed to NOT get each other anything. He claims some guy in a rabbit suit walked in and put them there. HA!

I am washing the blanket that goes on the couch/sofa. I also have all of my large, decorative blue cornflower pyrex and their lids being washed in the dishwasher. They have this spa time twice a year.

Supper tonight will be a turkey thigh cooked in the oven and I will most likely put carrots around it on the sheet pan and make baked potatoes. I also have a can of cranberry sauce with whole cranberries and a box of stuffing that gets done on top of the stove and only takes 5 minutes.

When I was in bed, I had a vision of how to rearrange this room. I need to take some measurements before I even consider it.

Thank you all for Passover greetings! It can be celebrated for seven or eight days. I slept way in this morning, was up a little before eight and thought I'd go back to sleep for a little and slept another two hours.

Company is here until this afternoon. Enjoying this lovely couple so much.

This afternoon after they leave we will to go river for awhile.

blessed, did ddyounger get home safely? My ds says this trip back is the last time in his life he and ddil will drive home from FL. He says if they can't save up for air travel, they simply won't go because it is too stressful. Most of the delays were on the FL leg. I realize your dd would never consider such a long trip to your home, of course, but I did think of her making some of the same trek by air and hope she could rest on the plane.

Cathy, I giggled at your post. Cornflower pyrex having spa time.

He claims some guy in a rabbit suit walked in and put them there.

Lauralind, you're very kind. I have lots of attentive medical care, and the dr says that by autumn, we may be saying the word, "cured". Isn't that a nice word? For now, I am finding that cure worse than the illness and am going through even more side effects than I am symptoms. The coming week is covered in appts for one thing. I have no weekday without an appt. I've been on the phone with my oldest dd brainstorming how she and her siblings can help. My dstepdil, who took me to one appt a couple weeks ago, has accepted a new job without any weekday off, so that makes me happy for her, limits one direction of help, though.

HRH is having breakfast

Oops, interrupted by a visit from dstepson.

HRH is having a shower now, hoping to feel more like himself.

Happy Easter & Passover greetings to all

We didn't attend outdoor Sonrise service this morning at church because of the weather and DD13 & DH not being over their sickness. This is the first time we have missed this service in many decades.

Last night weather was wild. We got 2.5" of rain and the lightning was loud & bright flashes. Several times it sounded and felt like it was hitting something near us. We saw several storm chasers including the Dominator, so we knew we were in the target zone for tornadoes. DH said our state did have 5 tornadoes last night but none of them touched down near our home.
Stay curious. Challenge assumptions. Success loves persistence.
When life gets difficult, learn to sing & dance in the rain.

Happy Easter and Passover to y’all

We had a very nice lunch at the local public country club with friends. Food was delicious and the company was grand..

One of our favorite couples are headed back to the Toronto area today. They have a long drive ahead of them and we’ll do it in two days. We will miss them because there are lots of fun.

I am having a lazy afternoon. I have my grandkids Easter baskets ready, but don’t know whether they’ll be coming over later today or not whatever you know how it goes in that family so they’ll be here tomorrow if they’re not get them today no candy is involved so it’s OK.

Told sweetie, it is definitely a sandwich dinner tonight. I’m not cooking. I had a tough night last night with a lot of sinus drainage and now my throat is sore from it. I get the results of my nasal scan on Wednesday and can’t wait to see what they have to tell me.

Enjoy the rest of your day waving to y’all.
