Re: Sitar Saturday
I'm home again. Productive morning there anyway. Kitchen and bathrooms clean. Laundry advanced and put away what I could. I discovered last week when dad was making dessert he put it in the mini fridge downstairs and spilled some jello on the counter. He forgot about it so it was a nice sticky dried on mess. Fixed that and talked to dd some after. Now I'm sitting here contemplating nap or lunch or ours or inside. Or town. Or do I want to do anything at all. I made a fresh coffee so I'm going to start there and then actually complete the list I didn't do here before I left.
Priority list
Basic routines
Kitchen clean
Watch mom here or there? Routines there
Some detail dusting
Some raking outdoors
Round up on the patch I want for flower beds
Work on crochet
A few things from the store
Today's tada list
Lunch and coffee
Work on crochet for a bit
Make list for town
Soak in tub instead of shower
Scrub showers
S&s both baths and start laundry
Tidy laundry room and master bedroom some
Call dad plan for day
Empty and reload dw
Finish tidying kitchen all the way

Re: Sitar Saturday
Quick CI as it's late and I'm in bed, but it's been a very good evening -good to catch up with friends, and a very good meal. Do, all in all, a lovely time.
Matilda gave me an ecstatic greeting when I got home.
DH is back safely, but is monosyllabic so I'm just guessing that he and DBIL had a good time today!
Night night everyone!

Re: Sitar Saturday
I got up at 0300 to watch Pope's funeral. Don't know how much I saw, I think I dozed off and on. Tired today. Worried about dog, as she's not eating for me. Waiting for vet to call me back. Then I can go see mother.
Plan for my house, outside, this summer is new landscape design. I had someone give me an estimate yesterday, and someone today. I really liked yesterday's guy, but he's 2x the estimate of today's guy. I'll be checking with references, perhaps negotiating with the first one for some reduction. Looking forward to having a beautiful exterior, to go with the beautiful painting job we did last summer. My Mom is saying she wants to do something with her house. I told her I can only do 1 house at a time, and we'd do hers next year. ( She is occasionally delusional, thinks she can paint her house by herself
Helian, there's an anemia that requires injections of vitamin B 12, in order for the body to process the iron in the diet. We don't always absorb B12 as well as we age. (Or anything else for that matter.
FFB, I hope things get sorted out, that's discouraging for MrNG

Re: Sitar Saturday
Interesting gma. I figured they went together but I didn't realize the b12 is important to absorb iron. I have taken injection before but she thought orally would work. I'm not anemic yet she said. I don't know we'll see if it helps.
Made it to town. Groceries done and got Casper a new bone that should keep him busy in the house. Except he still wants his walk. Maybe fresh air will help
Edit--- did go for a walk. He was definitely wandering today and ran into a couple new dogs. No big deal one was old and the other was just visiting. A little one. Someone on bike went by. New again. And a friend of mom's stopped in the car to see how they were doing. It's so beautiful. I almost didn't need my vest. But now I almost have a headache and it's 5 almost and I've done nothing but grocer for us. Dad's is clean again...
I am not getting outside. Maybe I'll eventually get to the kitchen and laundry.

Re: Sitar Saturday
Oh interesting Gma. Maybe Mom's blood tests will reveal what she needs for her anemia. I suppose, it could be making her tired too. It's nice to have a plan to improve your house!
Glad you got in a walk with Casper, Lauralind.
So glad you had a lovely evening, Kitty.
It looks like you have some fun things to look forward to tomorrow, L Ann.
Hi Peaches!
I got home around 1 and had an empty afternoon - but I didn't use it. I was so tired. I didn't take a nap though; I don't really do naps. I did have lunch, had some qt, did laundry and worked on a jigsaw puzzle. And wrote the card for SC.
I'm so sleepy. . . I'm going to get ready for bed and fold the darks. It isn't even 10 pm, but I'm done.
Next:
- fold darks
- get ready for bed
Later: for tomorrow
- clean sheets on the bed
- jog
- tidy clothes in MBR
- payroll: end of session tasks -- I'm still not done
- payroll: start GGT
- payroll: update exam record?
TaDas!
- up late; did puzzles in bed
- weighed self -- up a lot; maybe the restaurant food last night
- kitchen reclaimed
- coffee
- email deletions + weather website: cloudy + high of 56*F today
- s2s and self care
- took photo of magnolias
- visited Mom
- B&N - cards
- Walgreens
- home; reclaimed kitchen
- lunch
- took photos of docs and sent them to dh (who left them at home)
- lights: washed, dried, and put away
- darks: washed and drying
- some qt
- mail sorted - mostly recycled
- wrote card for SC
- retirement party for SC
- dinner: lamb and roasted fingling potatoes (leftovers)
- after dinner clean up
- duo
- updated WW and MRP

Re: Sitar Saturday
(I skipped several steps in the physiology of B12 and iron )
Helian, I just checked National Institute of Health, library of medicine. A 2011 article discussed EDS: excessive daytime sleepyness in Parkinson's. Says it affects about half of all people with that disease. Some directly related to disease, some related to the meds that benefit the tremors.
NIH has always been a reliable source. Hasn't been completely destroyed (yet).
Ddog has had very poor appetite today, but finally I got her to eat a little after her medicine.

Awww poor doggie. I hope you can get her treated and feeling well again.
My mom was very sleepy and lethargic after surgery. She was most likely anemic before too but she lost so much blood. Sleeping and exhaustion is definitely part of it.

Re: Sitar Saturday
Of course, blood loss is another acute, sudden direct cause of anemia. Has her blood count improved? How is she doing now? I'm sorry I haven't been able to follow all the details, but I know you are caring, helping your dad manage, and helping them both. you are doing a great job and it's a lot of work!
