LadyM…I am flying. I’ll make my decision on whether I feel well enough to travel on Tuesday night. I’m suppose to leave on Thursday.
I am feeling abt 80% right now but am improving each day. I’m tired cause the steroids interrupt my sleeping at night. Today was the first day I only had to take a 10mg prednisone so we’ll see how I sleep tonight.
Most of my coughing happens at night as well
So that doesn’t help.
Won’t go to class in the morning so my body can rest and heal a bit more. Usually when I get this chest crud it takes me 10 to recover so I’m hoping I’ll be able to fly, but I have no problems cancelling my trip if I have to.
My new dr ordered lab work to check all my internal organ functions plus thyroid and a few other things, but pt that off till I am feeling better

Re: Snap Shot Sunday PWYC
I hope you feel lots better soon, Rose! (((HUGS)))
I know my dmom cannot stand to have to take prednisone. She has just about refused it the last time she was prescribed it. She said it makes her so jittery she can barely feed herself!
I really shouldn't laugh about it. It doesn't affect me that much -- but I do remember it made me want to eat all the time! And I have had nights when my eyes were just glued open all night long, but with tv and the internet, I can stand that in order to get the relief that steroid offer.
Speaking of dmom, she is probably going to get another steroid shot in her shoulder this coming Thursday. I hope it gives her some relief for her pain. Right now, she can barely use her right arm -- and she had a shot about 4-6 weeks ago. Sometimes they just don't hit the right spot. She said she might just mark it with a sharpie, which is not a bad idea.
LadyM, IKWYM about consistently using your cards. I am the same way, and I do fairly well (by my standards, anyway) until the dgrands arrive on Friday evening. Then, it's like I never even heard of any kind of routine.
And this weekend, I was kinda looking forward to having most of Saturday to myself -- and then I did absolutely n o t h I n g except scroll on my phone. Just totally wasted the whole day. Stayed up too late and then found out this morning that ddil's substitute Sunday School teacher needed me to substitute for her. SMH. I made it with plenty of time to spare, but I would have been better prepared if I had s2s first thing Saturday (and washed my hair) AND gone to bed at a reasonable time last night.
This Chromebook is dying, isn't it? Every so often, the screen goes dark, and then totally black. If you lower the screen about halfway, it revives itself, but I've done that at least twice since I started typing this.
I know I got this really cheap, but I do love it. I can sit here in my recliner and watch tv while I type -- I don't have to go into the computer room.
Do any of you have any suggestions, or do I just have to ride it out till it refuses to charge up and then replace it?
I'm glad the birthday celebration went so well, LadyM. Re: a gardening gene -- I don't know if there is one or not, but it definitely was not passed on to me. My grandparents (all four) and my parents all had vegetable gardens, and I think they all enjoyed it... but oh my goodness, I hated being in the garden from the moment I was born, I think. When I was pretty little, sometimes I was supposed to help pick beans or something. I was so glad when dbro was born in March -- that summer my job changed; I had to stay inside and watch the baby! LOL. I still had to help shell beans and get the husks off corn, and things like that.
I guess gardening stopped around the time I was 13, when dmom got a job at the bank.
I always helped mow the lawn too, from the time I was old enough, but we have never had a riding lawn mower and dh and I always paid someone to mow for us. His allergies were such that he had never mowed (except when he was coaching and part of his job was keeping the field mowed.) But I hate this part of summer, because (1) the man who mows now does not have the best mower in the world, and there are places that look like he has skipped a line or something... and (2) he is supposed to mow every other week, but if it rains, or he is busy with something else, then it might be more than 2 weeks, and it really gets to looking pretty bad in between. (And it seems like it's ALWAYS at the borderline stage when we are hosting a birthday party, BTW!)
Waving to ALL!!! Hope you all have a great week ahead! Special (((HUGS))) for Harriet this week.

Hi
A strangely weird, busy, remarkable, high-alert, memorable day.
I am okay and settled.
I can see the building where my cells have arrived from my window and have taken a SNAP SHOT.
Also helicopter rotors can be seen when one arrives.
Now for the big challlenge - sleeping. I am to be awakened several times.
Take care,

LucyLee my dh bought me a tablet before I had my surgery in 2020. It was great when I was "resting" in bed after the surgery. It was certainly good during Covid. I could just stay in bed using the tablet. Then I would have it on at night before I was supposed to be going to bed. Nope. Hours later I would still be scrolling on FBook. When it gave up the ghost last year I didn't even tell dh. Last month he said he never sees me using my tablet any more. I told him it died and I didn't want another one, which is why I didn't tell him. He wanted me to get another one. I said no way! I would rather not have the ability to lay in bed and scroll the days and nights away.
I got a load of laundry after adding the towels and facecloths and tea towel. It was a smaller load than usual, but now it's in the dryer.

You may have a VERY good point, Cathy! Of course, I can waste plenty of time just scrolling on my phone, here in the den -- but it IS harder to type on my phone. So that would be self-limiting to a certain degree. So... yeah... I might need to just let it go, if it dies on me.
I've been sitting here with it all this time, since I first posted. Reading crazy school stories on a post from Gerry Brooks.
Last night I read a bunch of "most embarrassing moments" on a FB reel. It WAS a big waste of time, when I needed to be sleeping, but I did laugh till I cried, and laughter is not really a common thing around here for the most part.
DH used to love it when I would get so tickled about something that I couldn't read it to him without laughing till I cried.
Oh, and last night, I watched a lot of tv. A 2-hour program was on -- "I Am Burt Reynolds." It was kinda sad at the end but... it was Burt Reynolds.
OG really looked a LOT like Burt Reynolds. There are a lot of Burt Reynolds movies I have not seen. I need to seek those out more.

Re: Snap Shot Sunday PWYC
DH and I walked to evening church service. It is a small group (30 or so) of VDFriends. I enjoyed it very much.
RR - coughing at night is exhausting. (((Hugs)))
LucyLee - the chrome book screen could be failing for a bazillion hardware or software reasons. My first thought is to make sure it isn't overheating by placing it on a bed so there isn't air circulation.
Harriet!! You have arrived! I am so pleased for you to reach this point of the treatment. (((Gentle Hugs))) and you are reunited with your super-duper energized and highly trained cells.
I just realized that Twins, RR and Harriet are all traveling this week (in one way or another).
It is Sunday night. Time for me to turn my thoughts and attention to public school and homeschool prep. There are 16 more days of school. I can do this....repeat often.

LadyM, I don’t use it in bed, unless it is sitting on a lap desk (hard surface) — but a lot of times when I’m sitting here in my chair, I just have it in my lap. It does get pretty hot. Dgd commented on that today; she was using it the same way.
BTW … I sure do remember when Sunday weekend thoughts became Monday school thoughts. That was one of the nicest things about retirement. No more Monday night panic.
Glad to see you’re settling in for the night, Harriet. I hope you get some rest.
