Gma, I hope the dog feels better soon. It might be good for peace of mind (but not for the pocketbook probably) to leave ddog at the hospital.
WTG on the invitations, Kitty!
Safe travels, L Ann. I hope the appointment goes well.
Smile, that is really early! WTG on getting to the gym. I might join you in fly bys this morning.
You've got a lot going on Feathers. Are the children playing inside because of the rain?

My weight made a large jump today. Maybe the weekend has hit me? In a way it's good - it shows my body is relaxing and getting back to normal. LOL! I was losing weight without trying when I was stressed with moving my mom here and then fretting over her transition.

Grayish here with a high of 65*F. No rain in the forecast at least.

Last night, I did get clean sheets on the bed! And I booked my tix for the trip to Maine in August. Also, my mom's Dr. emailed me in the evening asking if I'd approve physical, occupational, and speech therapy to help my mom wake up a bit (maybe) and engage more. I said yes - great idea!! And was extremely pleased she asked. :)

Dh suggests I visit Mom every other day so I don't tire myself out emotionally - or bug the staff too much. LOL! I'll try that. Or maybe 4x/ week.

Today, I need to prep for class, teach class, and make a WF run to get stuff for dinner at friends' home tonight. In between, I'd like to make progress on payroll GGT, fold the lol I left in the dryer overnight, make progress with Mom - maybe send the dental paperwork to the Dr. to get signed. She seems very responsive. And a walk would be good. I'm planning to do the weekly 5K tomorrow at 8 a.m. So early on a Saturday -- but S2 will be doing it too. She will lap me at least once. LOL! (The route is a pretty nature path around a small pond, but it's only about a mile long.) S2 is a marathoner who has just gotten back into running. She used to run marathons in about 3:10, and really wants to break the 3 hour barrier -- but in her 40s, it's not so easy.

Next:
- some qt
- back exercises

Morning all. Oh poor dog gma. I missed you the last couple of days. The site was being glitchy. They say the host I think. Drive safe but wise to let them take care of her.

So kittykat i think you are experienced. Stella is reasonably content but her system is still not working right. I wonder how long that antibiotic takes to help. She's still back and forth to the litter box and the bath mat. Hopefully it improves quickly or I'm going to get worried.

Feathers did I get to greet you yet? I think I did in my lost post. I'm so glad you found us. Looks like things are going well. Kids grow way too fast. Mine are 26 and 24 and 15. And both older ones got married last spring just a year ago. I have a 2 month old grandson...

Morning smile lee. Yup early bird like me.

Helian I think your dh is wise. Unless you are needed for something a day off in between might be good. It's a lot moving her but that is way better than seeing her every 6 weeks.

I think I will pour a soak and then try to get a few things done before work. I have odds and ends everywhere that need to be finished. My list might be off my routine cause it's just random unfinished things... trademark of me🙂

Soak in tub instead of shower
S&s both baths and sweep in there
Add some stuff to laundry and start
Finish litter box project
Tidy entries and use the stuff in the shopping bag
General straighten and put away dress

I have my wedding dress spread out on the table as it was in a new garment bag I got when we bought dd wedding dress. It got in the way of the cats disaster. I need to spot clean i a little and pack it.. I think I will put it in the closet packed better. I know weird projects.... my cats have wreaked havoc

L.Ann ~ Hope the hospital visit goes well. (assuming Hopkins is a hospital?
Bama ~ Good luck with errands.
kitty ~ how fun! Do you have the summer party at someone's home or is there a common space in your community to have it?
helian ~ Yes.. I' am an early riser. Always have been. well... I did go almost every day to the NH - and I did bug the staff. But they told me they really didn't mind because they have so many patients that have no one come and see them. Plus... I was 2 1/2 hours from my own home during the week. What else was I going to do? Still... if the NH is doing a good job and you have peace about them, going every other day would probably be a good thing.

Back from the gym - felt good. Going to do some house stuff before hopping in the shower. Off to flybys!

Just a quick CI -will try for more personal replies later, but:

Laura, if Stella is still back and forth from the litter tray it's usually a sign she's in pain, or at the very least uncomfortable. Can you tell if she's producing a "puddle" each time, or just a few drops? Did she have an antibiotic injection? (As opposed to tablets?) The injections usually start to work quickly, and are slow release, so they last 2-3 days / a week, depending on which one she was given, (iirc, the penicillin group is usually a short term injection, whereas convenia lasts around 10 days) so I would expect her to be more comfortable by now. I think you took her to the vet on Wednesday? I would ring the vet today, especially if there are only small damp spots in the tray, as the crystals can block the bladder, and that's an emergency . (It's a *lot* less common in girl cats than boy cats , but does still occur). It might be that she needs another injection, if her last one was only supposed to last for three days. I think you said you were getting a sample to take to the vets. Have the vets done a "culture" so they know what bacteria they are dealing with?

I really would try and at least speak to the vets on the phone today, so you can get proper "professional" advice. But if you can take Stella in that would be even better, as they can then also feel her bladder to check if it's small or large (Small = usually good, large means she *may* have a problem emptying it.) Good luck!

Kittykat I think they gave her the slow release injection. She's still back and forth. Far as I can tell. Her bladder was not enlarged so it's confusing. She's eating better now but it seems still not much and that is the medical treatment for the crystals.

I'll try to call on the way back from lunch.

Hello again!

I hope you have a successful day, Bama!

Helian, it really does sound as though the mew NH has your DMum's best interests at heart, and want to improve her quality of life. :D

Smilelee, the summer party is going to take place in DF CW 's garden this year. (We have had a more traditional Street party in the past, but that's a *lot* of work. This year, DF CW wants it to be lower key, but still fun, and I agree with her.)

I'm glad the visit went well, L Ann.

Laura, is the prescription diet for Stella dry or wet formulation? Urinary diets are available in both wet and dry forms, so adding a little of the other formulation might help make it more palatable. Freddie is currently on Royal Canin, but Hills also make a good food for cats with these issues (Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disorder). I don't know what brand your vet recommended? Also there is some evidence that a glucosamine+ chondroitin supplement can help in the lining of the bladder and reduce inflammation. There's one over here called Cat-Ease. Your vet should be able to advise if this would be worth trying for Stella.

Hi, Peaches!

It's been a very good day - it turned out sunny again. :D I've processed all those apples and gently stewed them -I'll bag them up tomorrow. I e fed my pots and had some time sitting in my garden (I used this time to read the 162 page CMA interim report. I have some comments, so I need to organise them into a cohort order and email them before the end of the month.)

I've had a chat with Dnextdoorneighbour C and a long chat with DF CW. We've agreed on the guest list and also a small alteration to the invitations, and I'll print them and pop them through people's doors soon.

DH had a nice day, and is currently snoring!
