Trissie, in which US state were you a HS student? I find it remarkable that a HS youth could be away from home for a school year! I know you were much more independent than I was.
Helian, I know there is concern when in the hospital, even tho we know they are getting good care. Hydration is SO ESSENTIAL! Staff need to be hyper vigilant on getting your mom to drink, as she will forget to do it herself. And our elders aren't aware of thirst until VERY dehydrated, if even then.

My college has named a new president, as the one we have had for 11 years announced her retirement (effective now) a year ago, so there was time to do a thorough search. There was a meet and greet this afternoon. Mostly for faculty, students, and staff (which I am not) but I took advantage of my mother's position as "queen:" oldest staff member, and was married to ong time faculty. Daddy wrote the Centennial History of the college. I have a couple extra copies, and gave one to the incoming president, along with a welcome greeting from my mother.

Now home, another round of eye medicine, and doing my best to feed the dog something. Mother is becoming aware that her dear little Tutsi is getting weaker. But ddog is still alert, not in pain, and I'm not giving up. I mixed ground beef and ground turkey, added some baby rice and an egg white. I fried one patty and put another in the air fryer. Air fryer one is better. Ddog ate half for me, and I'll bring the other half for mom to see if she can entice ehr to eat a little more. (Mom keeps saying, give her some ice cream - that's something her pancreas definitely does not need! )
I am weary.
Tomorrow is another veterinarian appointment , in the morning, then cleaning lady comes to Mom's house to clean the apartment, for new tenant to move in on Saturday.

Well I did take some time at the piano just cause. Bible study was really good again. Came home and did music for a bit. Then a little raking. Then got dh preschool. Some groceries. And ds from school. Now Im sitting here with coffee. Casper telling me he wants a walk. Trying to decide what to make for supper. And how to convince ds that this test would have good to do. We had a chat after canceling the last one and he agreed to do it. Now he doesn't want to. Ugh. I already told them we're coming. Amd my friend is planning on coming with me instead of dh. It's all set up except his willingness.
I don't want to make him angry and force it. Or he'll be stubborn and not cooperate.

Not going to do sheets today. We had a nice walk and then came in and Casper swiftly stuck his nose up and snitched the last of the loaf of bread ds left out.

I think maybe I will go do a little more raking. Not a very big area left really. I'd like to get it done. If dh stays home he would mow grass.
