I always enjoy driving home on Fridays after work. There was a big rain, with hail, but never mind, I like the start of a weekend. MrNG is going out tonight with a friend from his previous payroll, so I plan to eat something easy in front of a family friendly movie, with both kids, and just enjoy having no real to-do tonight. (OK maybe a quick cleanup and running the dishwasher)
Before that, a few things to take care of :

I love the carpet, Trissie. The house looks a lot nicer. No surprise since I think the old carpet was 30 years old. DD38 just dropped Little Bit off. She wanted to know when I was getting the house painted now that I had the other things done. When I told her in 30 years she said that’s what she was afraid of. My mom is prone to bronchial stuff so I won’t visit if there is any chance of her getting sick from me, FFB.

ROFLOL trissie!! Though I didn't study it at Univ., I was very good at math in my day. It was suggested to me in high school that I go into engineering, but I preferred pre-vet. Yes, the antibiotics are for her UTI.

Sounds like you have new carpet, L Ann?! Nice!

OK - what a day. An hour long phone call with the social worker re: Mom as a possible new patient in the geriontology dept. Then many phone calls with the NH and then the hospital bc (1) the dosages of Mom's meds that she came home with were different from the dosages before her hospital stay. It was not clear if this was a clerical error OR if the hospital intended to change them. If the latter, Mom's Dr. at the NH needs an order from the hospital to change the dosages. (2) A prescription for the antibiotics was never called in. Finally, Mom's PA just called in a prescription herself so hopefully, some antibiotics will be there tonight for Mom to take.

A visit with Mom at the nursing home this afternoon found her MUCH MUCH more alert than I'd seen her in months. She spoke more than usual and engaged with me with facial expressions. I gave her water regularly. The bad news is that her new wheelchair has not arrived yet, and the staff is not going to put her in the old one bc she slid out of it -- and they don't want that to happen again. SO Mom is bed-bound until the new wheelchair comes. Now, I'm worried she'll lose the ability to stand and pivot to get into her wheelchair. But it's nice to have her back a bit.

Her dinner was meager bc it sounds like someone forgot to get her the pureed meal that she needs. An aide just mashed up some stuffing and was feeding it to her. They thought that her pureed meal would be coming later. I sure hope so. . . Mom ate a lot in the hospital. I think I'm going to get some soft foods and have them on hand in her kitchen for her to snack on when I visit and perhaps some drinks that she would like too. I always have dark chocolate ensures for her.
