(((Helia))), snacks on hand would be great. Then if a volunteer sits with your dmom they won’t have to worry about if something is ok to give her or not, it will all be approved and available. I’m sorry the antibiotic took so long to get.
Wtg peaches!
LAnn, I’m with you on the long term projects, it will all get done.
French, hope the hail didn’t do any damage. Enjoy your weekend!
Trissie, a B is above average, wtg ds! lol at the paw operated can opener, that’s all that is keeping me here in their eyes probably. And they haven’t learned the phone well enough to order online delivery or maid service. Lots of Pope joke references on the news here, mostly sports fans in Chicago praying for their team to win now.
We got more done than I thought we would. I played hgtv shows and got the house spiffed, dh put together a bin storage rack and it’s been approved as stable so ordered 2 more, placed a Home Depot order and it was just delivered for free (we’re so far from any stores that nobody used to deliver here so nice surprise that they do now AND same day service! Must not allow myself to be spoiled by this way too convenient option.) Planner updated. Pet chores done. Ordered burgers and dh just left to get them. All in all a nice day. I did message dd to not meet us tomorrow as it’s going to be raining again. We can celebrate Mother’s Day next weekend. I haven’t heard from the other dd who is further away, other than she won’t be home until June, so not expecting anything from her either. I’ll enjoy the rain on my newly planted trees and plants and be thankful I don’t have to water them for a while.

Helian, hugs to you, sending courage, resilience for you as you advocate for your mother! She may have ahd this UtI for a long time. Classic UTI symptom in elderly is confusion. I'm happy to hear she is so much more alert. HYDRATION is also so incredibly important.
When I was in grad school, we read a study done by someone working on a geriatric nurse practitioner degree. Her project was to pay special attention to hydration to one side of the NH hall, and do ordinary care on the other side. The project was STOPPED early, and adding attention to hydration throughout the facility was started because the DEATH rate (which was not the intended outcome to measure in the study) on the ordinary care side was noticably higher than the hydrated side of the hall. Yeah, it may have been a coincidence, but .... everyone started to improve when hydration was a focus.
I've been kind of MIA past few days, focusing so much on care for dlittledog. She's still hanging in there. Not eating much, but eating at least a little. I am counting seconds of potty, and listening and counting laps from her water dish, when she does stand to drink. She doesn't seem to be in pain, and tonight she was quite alert, which cheered mother. Every night I pray that she will make it and still be with us in the morning. This started on Palm Sunday, so I've be en dealing with it for quite a while. Balancing care for the dog, emotional support for mother, taking dog to see her Mommy, managing with my crutches, and getting someone to clean after tenant moved out, and finding new tenant for Mother's basement apartment, who may move in tomorrow. And there's no mattress, so that will have to be purchased ASAP if tenant wants to move in immediately. It just feels like there's too much going on! But that seems to be almost always the case for me.
Which reminds me, I think I wrote out the check for mother's NH, but I don't think I put it in the payment box, and I can't remember where I might have put it....
Bedtime, I need to get up in the morning to meet tenant.
