LadyM my dh doesn't write anything anymore. I even sign cards to his mother. I'm sure dh could write if he wanted to, but his legal signature is no longer legible. Of course, most people could say that a lot of signatures just look like a squiggle any way.
Dh was outside working when I left and inside watching tv when I got home. I'm heading out again shortly.

Re: Motivated Monday PWYC
I was right about dmom’s health changing my plans. Her home health nurse wanted her to go to the ER for evaluation. So we are at ER in Next Town. Our local hospital has all the diagnostic equipment but does not admit patients overnight and nurses were afraid she would need to be admitted. Who knows?
Problem is severe back pain that has now extended to belly button and around side.
I cancelled my wellness appointment— I have until August to take care of that.

((LadyM)) ((RR)) What a difficult situation to be in. I'm so very sorry.
I worked on the HOA budget for the current year. We are on a calendar year but don't meet until June. I think I have that for now, just need to print for meeting at 6:30 tonight.
Need to leave soon for workout. As always, not in the mood, but I am going. Still not sure what we'll do for supper, given that I have a 6:30 meeting. Might suggest we order takeout from fav restaurant...

However I have never weeded with one of those.
I made boo boo bread.
Still learning the new oven the bread is edible but the load is small did not raise properly.
I did have lunch.

Re: Motivated Monday PWYC
Thanks Twins mom for the invite to join you all I think I may have a long time ago know a couple of people on here from the other group. Been part of SheForums for about 20 years or more. If you all haven't read my intro from the intro page, a quick one. I am a teacher of 37 years (23 in adult ed and 14 in special ed before that) but I am retiring in 2 weeks. I have been married to my husband for 31.5 years, we met on the internet before their was a World Wide Web www we were part of a chat channel called IRC. I have 34 year old son from my first marriage of 7 years and together we have 2 sons C and R who still live with us since pandemic age 30 C and 26 R. C is finishing his bachelors in education and will student teach in August and R has a bachelors in cyber security and for a year has not been able to find a job (he also has not tried as hard as he should have ). I have a 15 year old little dachsund who is my shadow. My hubby and I travel a lot. He travels for work and I mostly do for pleasure often with him when I can.
What motivates me is a calendared schedule and routines. I am having problems today because I had 3 days to take off to use up all of my time so I took today off but I had made no plans for the day so I was a bit of a slug this morning but am now up and have sorted mail and will pay what bills I can. I have been in charge of our bills for 30 of our 31 years, DH who is normally quite OCD in cleaning is not on bills (he is better now and is in charge of our financial planning but not our bills). He was late when we first got married and I am never late so I took them over. We have had a joint account our whole marriage and I know all of his passwords and he knows mine (well our Keeper does on the computer and he makes them all those hard ones that are suggested). I have to come up with a summer routine and retirement routine so I don't doom scroll away my days.
Sad to hear of your husbands and their memory issues. I come from a family with Alzheimers and I was showing a lot of memory issues that were seriously concerning me. I talked to my doctor who said if I could remember I didn't remember I was fine, I hated that response. I have taken brain supplements for decades that have helped (Liquid Tumeric drops) and other things, never cooked on anything but stainless steel, and whatever snake oil I can buy. Also Folate for the last 15 years, I have though been on high cholestrol medicine for several years and I read and then was told that that can cause memory issues and dementia. I have lost 45 pounds in last 2 years and my blood works is normal with cholestrol so I decided to do an experiment for 5 weeks and didn't put this pill in my pill boxes (I take an enormous amount of supplements) and it has been 3 weeks and I have no memory issues at all for the last 2 weeks. I need to find a different way to handle cholestrol besides Atorvastatin. I notice my husband has had the same issues and forgetting the same things I hope I can also get him to stop.
I have what I consider Severe Adhd and level one ASD which sometimes like to compete with one another. It is called AuDHD I prefer the term neurodivergent and I was an adult when I was told I had ADHD but I always knew that but my youngest is on the spectrum and they say check the parents and my middle son a psychology major several years ago and he came home and said mom have you ever considered this whole family is on the spectrum and he started pointing out things we all do and I just laughed and said well that sure explains a lot of my childhood. I knew we all had Adhd but we all exhibit mild ASD in our social skills, anxiety, and others areas - used to have wicked meltdowns from 9 months really till now and my mom told him when she was living that she had always hoped I would have one just like me, meaning I had wicked meltdowns like C. I have been studying all of the traits and I can find memories of al most all of these since childhood I am just an excellent masker and taught my kids to also mask. It is not normal for a 2 years old to sit quietly and do a puzzle for 3 hours (I thought he was just brilliant (my oldest)) we all knew the youngest had issues very mildly - you wouldn't meet him and know this but I spent most of his child hood holding my hands over his ears, now we all use silencing headphones (love those things). Each boy and both dh and I are different but all are neurodivergent and now we no longer mask at the house and it is awesome. I almost hate having to put it back on when I leave. I have totally learned how to cope and Flylady et. al. had so much to do with that. My house stays relatively tidy (I do have a cleaning lady once a month to do bathrooms and floors and kitchen).
I am an info dumper so beware.
But now I have to get ready and go back to school to discuss our graduation ceremony for Wednesday.

A time of quiet is important in retirement that is a challenge so finding a way to get that is important.
It was for me anyway. I used to retreat to the sewing room in the basement.
Or the garden.
Hubby would use the cave rec. room in the basement before he passed.
When I was upstairs to get away from the very loud TV noise he had hearing issues.
My cards and a.m. & p.m. routines are a lot of help for me.
I journal and write stuff in my planner now instead of the s.h.e. cards.
-----
I am back inside after doing a couple of rounds of weeding
in the back. The can is full just in time before trash day Tues.

Re: Motivated Monday PWYC
Hi Costumelady and welcome. I taught special Ed and am very familiar with the term Neuro divergent. I also understand about masking and know how stressful that can be
I once went to a workshop for ASD. One of the presenters was Autistic and really made an impression on me. She spoke about how exhausting it was to live in a NA (non-autistic) world and the need for masking.
Some of us here may not understand what masking is, so you might want to explain it when you have time. I’m sure you be much better at it than me
I have been busy all day with workers, contractors, cabinet makers and home insurance people. I have two appointments this week that I can’t cancel but otherwise need to be here. Sweetie does well talking to every one, but doesn’t remember everything they tell him, so I need to stay around for those conversations.
The contractor I mentioned earlier brought me two duck eggs and 4 fresh chicken eggs. He also brought his Chinese wife as his helper to fix our screen doors. He raises chickens and ducks and when I said I never had duck eggs he brought them for me to try. He is truly a country boy from the hollers of KY and we have discovered we have much in common.

Re: Motivated Monday PWYC
Welcome CostumeLady! Retirement is great, but I'm probably as busy now as when I worked. Be careful what you take on! My dh is retiring end of June so that's going to be a big big change for both of us. I like having the house quiet, and he.....doesn't. He's social and talkative, lol. I think a lot of us here have ADHD issues, that's why we identify with the Sidetracked Home Execs. and a card file or other system.
Oh Lucylee, so sorry your mom is ailing. Hope they can get to the cause quickly and relieve the pain.
Always a good workout and always improves my attitude. The trainer, Ellie, is in early twenties and a little immature, but she puts me thought a great workout, some stretching, some pilates type moves, cardio, weights, the whole package in an hour.
I'm wanting to suggest that we meet at my house this p.m. instead of at the cabana. It's raining again, and it's so damp out. I don't want to leave the house and sit out there, lol!
I'm exhausted trying to get this post finished. DD has called me to complain about the parking people where she left her car, and dh has called to give me a blow by blow report of his discussion with lawn company re: backflow device. And ddog is nudging at my left elbow for attention and walk, and it's raining.

Interesting conversation. I have just come back from last weeks appointment. Ds15 looks like is going to get asd diagnosis. He had the adhd at the beginning of elementary school but it just was never complete.
