And now something completely different - the 80's pop icons! 
Madness are an English ska and pop band from Camden Town, north west London, who formed in 1976. One of the most prominent bands of the late 1970s and early 1980s two-tone ska revival, they continue to perform with six of the seven members of their original line-up. Madness's most successful period was from 1980 to 1986, when the band's songs spent a total of 214 weeks on the UK Singles Chart, holding the record along with English reggae group UB40 for most weeks spent by a group in the UK singles chart during the 1980s.

Morning trissie. It's 10 pm here and time for me to be in bed soon after a good day. Church was good. A reasonably relaxing afternoon and a visit from the kids and lil j. My monkey is almost 3 months old. Almost a couple giggles today.

Good morning, Trissie, and thank you for the start. You've brought back lots of nostalgia with Madness -It used to listen to them a lot as a teenager - some very clever lyrics. I'll have to do d some today to play while I'm doing housework.

So, Monday again, and I'm feeling unprepared. Yesterday was very good, but quite full. Church, followed by coffee with DF E, who I ce again, was on very good form. Her youngest DS is comt to visit this week, so she's looking forward to that.
Our lunch menu was roast chicken, roast potatoes, gravy, carrots, asparagus and creamed leeks, followed by vanilla.
cream terrine and a blueberry coulis. I then spent the rest of the afternoon.and much of the evening in my garden, watering and pulling out forget-me-nots that have gone over. I also had a long chat with M, who, together with elher DD, has moved into DF CW's house, to look after G 12 yo and Izzy (the cat) while DF CW is away. It's all gone well, except Izzy has some sort of gastric upset. I've dropped off some pouches of GI food, and recommended a visit to the vet - fortunately DF CW is back today.
Today , DH goes to the office, and I'm at home. I need to be more disciplined in my use of time,.as there's a lot I would like to get done!

Fix garage guttering that's loose at one end and bending down. Dneighbour R2 may fix?
Fix dripping kitchen tap (new washer ?)- DF E has given me the phone number of her plumber . I think DF CW also has a plumber she is happy with?
Take up and hem those thick winter curtains for the kitchen
Book eye test for me
Find picture hanging equipment for DH
Sort prints and put in albums (this will probably be an activity to do on wet days!) WIP I am now working on 2024
Think about setting up Guardianship for F,J and M - looked on Cats' Protection, I need their microchip numbers, approximate DOB, colour and markings and useful information about them. Bookmark link with local recommended solicitors (also ask DF CW?)

Today has turned out to be cloudy, but dry with some sunny spells. I've had a slight change of plan, and decided to tackle the periwinkle ground cover in the front garden today. It's starting to choke the roses a bit, and they won't like that! The weather is also perfect -dry and not too hot, and I have virtually guaranteed uninterrupted time today to work on this project. This is not a job I particularly enjoy, as it's time consuming, involves lots of bending, and is messy, but we're due some rain in Wednesday, and I would like to get it done before then, as rain makes all the "bits" stick to each other. Also, today, there is no one around to track "bits" indoors! 
I know I should be getting the spare room ready for BIL's impending arrival, but, TBH, that can wait until it's dark and/ or raining. Maybe Wednesday, and then tell DH not to make a mess in there when he's WFH on Thursday?
This is not a job I particularly enjoy, as it's time consuming, involves lots of bending, and is messy, but we're due some rain in Wednesday, and I would like to get it done before then, as rain makes all the "bits" stick to each other. Trissie, I didn’t think I knew of Madness until I looked them up and realized I DO know them and have enjoyed their music. Thanks for the flashback.
Laura, family time is the best.
Happy Victoria Day, Doggedly. And happy decluttering day. Next weekend will be our holiday weekend to celebrate Memorial Day.
Kittykatt, I’m feeling unprepared for Monday too, mainly working on my house. The menu sounds delicious.
I hope everyone had a good weekend. Mine was a little discombobulated, some good, some not so good. We did get our frizzle rooster, a very handsome blue fella, and my friend added in a couple of hens, seniors that are no longer laying, to keep him company. It worked out well. She needed to thin out her birds and I keep them as pets, I don’t really care to eat the eggs or hatch babies, it’s a lot of work. So far all are doing well. Mr Turkey seems to enjoy the company. For a few hours he was peeking from behind trees to check them out which was funny to watch. You’d catch a glimpse of him around a limb. Now the boys are crowing and gobbling happily.
Heading back in time to find and update my list of daily adventures. Enjoy your day.
