Re: Happy Victoria Day!
As usual, there are dishes that need looking after. A dishwasher to be emptied and dirty dishes need to go in. A couple of pots and pans and some large utensils. I also have some clean clothes to put away.
Two of the cats went outside earlier and now they are both back in. Dh is still sleeping.
Most stores and all government offices are closed here today. Some small stores are open and I know that any stores with any type of groceries will be busy. I'm certain that someone will come on FBook and ask where they can get bread, or milk or something.

Re: Happy Victoria Day!
Morning Cathy…
Yesterday my construction guy came by and there’s definitely two leaks one on the foundation and one somewhere in my house. They removed the refrigerator and then removed the sheet rock behind it. It is covered with black mold. Then they went under my sink and removed the back panel and once again is covered with mold. Mark sealed it up at first but sprayed. It was something mold and then sealed it up so it hopefully will stay partially out of the house.
The water is dripping when you look outside the water is dripping from the top down towards the foundation and the foundation is also leaking so Mark can’t finish the foundation until it dries out and it won’t dry out until we find a leak in the house. I have two plumbers coming today to see if they can find where the pipe leaks are or where the leaks are on my inside of my house. In the meantime, they took sweetie‘s office apart because he has mold growing in there as well.
I am going to empty out my pantry, which is right next to where the refrigerator is cause. I’m sure that wall is full of mold too. So I might as well go ahead and do it today because I have lots of things planned for the rest of the week.
After researching black mold in its symptoms, I’m seriously sure that my sinus problems are all connected with the black mold. Including the fatigue that I’ve been feeling for the last couple of months. I go to see my ENT doctor on Wednesday and I have pictures to show him about the mold. Hopefully he will come up with something to help me get over this. I don’t know what the final results will be, but at least I’m on the right track.
Hope y’all have a wonderful day. I guess I’m gonna get to re-organize my pantry. I need to take pictures of it before I dismantle it so I know how to put it back together again once everything has been done.
Sweetie said well, at least you’re gonna get the kitchen. You’ve always wanted cause you never like the tile in the kitchen. But that means we have to go to a tile store and pick everything out. This morning he tried to explain something to me and couldn’t. But he used hand gestures. I finally figured out what he was trying to tell me and we had a good laugh. I told him I was never very good with charades and this just proved my point. He’s just thrilled that I’m handling all of this and is making him happy so that’s a good thing. Enjoy your day.

Re: Happy Victoria Day!
Cathy, thanks for starting us out today - I don't have the awareness of Canadian holidays so I'm glad you posted today.
I'm dragging this morning - I developed a UTI yesterday and am waiting for dr office to let me know if I need to come in or if they'll send a script to the pharmacy. Classic symptoms - frequent urination and burning, feeling of heaviness. And after all the weekend socialization, I'm just as limp as a dish rag about doing anything right now.
We got home about 8 last night after leaving here at 3 p.m. At the temple, I made an effort to circulate and talk to people since I feel I'm around there so little these days. So that felt like an effort. Did spent some time talking to a dh of a friend, he's an introvert married to an extrovert also, and he's also not Jewish and doesn't attend much so doesn't know a lot of people. I enjoyed his company, commiserating, lol. We went on to dfriends whose dgradd graduated from HS. They have the most gorgeous house and yard and pool and screened porch. I always envy her touch with decorating and gardening and all things domestic. She has slowed down a lot, been ill a couple of times in the last couple of years but appears well. We did the Rhine River cruise trip with them last year, we've said between us that we probably won't travel with them again, but I enjoy their company so much. The adult daughters are gorgeous also, and sweet. So we had a good time there and enjoyed it a lot. Lots of girls hanging out at the pool, they were all so cute together.

Re: Happy Victoria Day!
Happy Victoria day. Yes we celebrate here too. Well at least get a long weekend. Except only the offices and schools and such and the small businesses are closed. Grocery stores and even our store are open. Just he has more of a small staff. Senior staff never have to work it.
Yup basic cleaning since I was too busy enjoying my little grandson the dishes are still on the counter. It so far appears to be pouring rain outside and gardening got as far as it's going to. I think my plan might be to pull everything out of the living room and Shampoo the rug again. It's really bad in here and most of it is from a big fluffy white dog lol.
Rose that is so hard with the leaks and the mold. I am thinking you are right about your health. We had a similar problem last fall. That part of the house is about 10 years old. We found the problem that we didn't get the ceiling insulation far enough over the end wall and it created cold and condensation. Especially in the bedrooms with the door closed sleeping in them. Ds wasn't sleeping well and tired and nosebleed worse. Generally not feeling the best. His beanbag chair was wet against the wall and the whole room was covered in white mold with a few spots of black. And a patch of ceiling I thought for sure the drywall was ruined. I managed to clean it and kill the mold and used a mold stop primer to repaint. I still have a few funny spots in window frames that are needing cleaning with mold spray. It started a redo of the bedrooms. Ds is now moved into ds 26 bigger room. His old room is repainted as a spare room/craft room. None of it is complete. I think I still need to move a desk into ds room and finish his shelf and decorate. My craft room is a dump all. That is full of some of ds26 leftover stuff.
My parents health troubles was the cause of that taking like 8 months to finish between trips and staying with mom a couple of whole weeks at a time and every time I thought I could start I was called away to help. Then Christmas came and I needed the extra room for dd and dsil. Reshuffle again. Easter and them coming again was the final straw. Get ds in the right room and done.
Now I am having more trouble with knowing what to do. I'm still awaiting the results of ds autism assessment. He's on the spectrum somewhere I just need specific reports. He's not been sleeping well still. Some days he's good and some days just a bear in the morning and twice in a row he won't go along with us to church. I don't know how to communicate with him in the moment cause if I understand from reading up on it. Selective mutism. Or it's processing that he can never describe it in the moment. No words.
And I got a call last night from dad. Mom might possibly be starting to wander. In bed already and then she gets up and fully dressed and she wants to go home. I had no advice but to keep trying eventually she will fall asleep. I can't do or say anything to encourage dad cause he just has something else that could go wrong. Nothing I could do after 9 at night.
I guess we should go check on them today. Dad is not being very easy to help. I need more outside of family help and finding people he respects and trusts is almost impossible.
Maybe I should make a topic somewhere that is not so visible lol.

Lauralind if you can get into our "Members Only" area, that is a great place to put private stuff.
RRose black mold is horrid. It's bad for everyone's health. Breathing in the same room is dangerous for your lungs. Get professionals to help you get rid of it.
So far I have turned on the oven to warm it up so I can clean it. I did the inner part of the door the other night and it was awesome! (Turn oven on to 200F, turn off and let it cool. Spray interior with Easy Off oven cleaner. Come back 10 minutes later and all that nastiness cleans off the sides and bottom like magic! There is a cleaning lady I follow on FBook that does this for every house she cleans. It takes her less than 30 minutes to get an oven and stovetop cleaned no matter how nasty they were when she started.
I have also put dh's blanket in the wash and it's waiting for me to put it in the dryer now.
Dh and I have had coffee and tea together. He asked what I was doing today and I said I would be on autopilot today doing laundry, dishes one litter box and bathroom garbage. We are going to get shwarmas for supper tonight. They are really filling and messy to eat. Dh loves them.

Re: Happy Victoria Day!
Good Morning! Happy Victoria Day!
I'm loving that I don't need to focus on homeschooling today. Today is the last Monday of this school year to wake DD13 up and get her to school. It is clean out locker day at school so I expect she will be bringing home a pile of stuff when I pick her up this afternoon. Counting down.....Only 3 more public school days.....
RR - What an experience you are having with leaks in your home. Doing discovery and tracking down the cause seems like a huge deal as walls are being opened. Will you have to temporarily relocate while repairs are being done?
DS16 is being himself in asking a cazillion questions about his wisdom teeth removal on Thursday. We will be talking to the surgery clinic later today about the details. My primary goal for this surgery is to keep his anxiety down and for him to be calm afterwards. Emergence delirium with a 6'5" strong fella can quickly go wrong and is NOT something that I want to see happen.

Re: Happy Victoria Day!
Hello, dear friends and Happy Victoria Day to all who celebrate. I did know it was today but am doing nothing quickly lately.
Ramblin', I must have missed previous posts about these household concerns, but am so glad remedies are starting and more knowledge. How wise of you
to take photos for dr.(s).
LadyM, your family is being proactive in recognizing various potentials for any problems Thursday and thinking them out with the pros in advance. Good job on all of that.
Lauralind, I hope you get good answers that will help your family communication.
Ya'll, didn't Elizabeth have a good bit of knowledge about autism? Miss seeing her.
HRH will drive me to hospital today for what we hope is a shorter appt. Blood draw and appt with a nurse practitioner. I think that if there is nothing surprising in blood work there will not be much more to do since so much happened Fri. We have not had an appt scheduled so late in the day, so I hope it is not long.
We both have prescriptions we need to pick up at pharmacy 1, and there is a terrible traffic snarl scheduled around it for days yet. An intersection being redone in a silly-looking, complicated way. Sigh.
