Bama, LOL at your mental picture.of the house in the "middle" of the.street. I can understand the confusion , though. Here in the UK, it was very common to have long rows of terraced housing (where houses are joined to each other each side. Sometimes they are also joined to each other at the back,hence "back to back" housing). The house in the song would have been in the middle of one of these terraces. It was not uncommon for the whole.of one side of the street to be one terrace (except maybe for a gap or two due to war time bombing!) so the house would also have been in the middle of the street.

Helian,.that sounds like a very busy and full weekend.

Dogged, I felt unprepared for today, as I didn't post my "getting ahead for the week" list yesterday evening, so had to scramble and o it this morning. I much prefer waking up to my list already done, so I can jump in ready for the day.

So, Ive cut down the periwinkle and.creeoimg.Jenny in the front garden. (There's a patch of campanula which will need cutting down eventually,. but Ill leave that until it's flowered,.and it shouldn't take long to do) I've picked up as many "bits" as I could mulched the roses,.topped up some of the bark and swept my path and Dnextdoorneighbour D's path. I am very glad that I only have a tiny front garden!I also had a chat with Dnextdoorneighbour C and DF CW - apparently Izzy is much better today and the GI food did the trick. But DF CW took her to the vet today as a precaution,.and was given the all clear.

I've also cleaned upstairs, and now I'm in bed, with Matilda curled up on the pillow beside me

I think sometimes it is just the fact that their person has been gone, kittykatt. Our dog was sick for one day after he came back from the kennel and then was fine after that.

LAnn, I need to tackle my kitchen cabinets, I keep putting it off bc I have to bring out a step ladder to reach the top.

Kittykatt, I was a wee lass when that song came out and took everything very literally. I don’t think I’ve heard of nosecco before, is the taste similar to Prosecco but without the alcohol? Is it purchased at the same stores?

It’s a holiday, you’re doing exactly what you’re supposed to, especially given that you usually work holidays. Even more reason to relax.

This is probably it for me today after I update my list. I’m sitting outside with Beau who seems to have an injured paw, he wants so badly for me to throw the ball so he can run after it that it’s hard for me to say no but he’s limping so no it has to be. He must have twisted it running. He dreams of chasing that ball 24/7!

Well my day hijacked. I guess in a good way. We went for lunch. It was alright. Then wandered out to the greenhouse and garden. Overtaken by chick weed last year. But it wasn't terrible from digging up the potato. We ended up raking the dead stuff up in dad got the tlller going. Dh tilled the whole thing once over. I guess we'll tackle that garden. Makes him happy cause he can panic about the price of food and who knows what else.

Now I need a few more greenhouse plants. Potatoes outside there and beans and carrots and corn and maybe a few beets in the big part. I will do the peppers and a couple tomatoes here. Along with the lettuce and spinach and onions etc. And a rhubarb.

I didn't get to the rug. Having coffee and then a dog walk. Then see if my neck feels like it will let me do anything else.

Coming back through -- I'm SO tired. But dh is back and that kind of centers me. Which is a little disturbing. . .

I think I've worked an honest 8 hours or more today. There's more I could do, but I'm saying I'm done for now. I need to go to bed soon.

Well my day doesn't reflect these priorities. I did random stuff in the house. Plus we ended up prepping dad's garden and greenhouse. The weather was unpredictable but nice right then. Pouring rain for a bit around 5 too. Now it's beautiful again.

I did random little stuff and some need to be completed cause I started 10 things again. If I can get that top set yet I'll say productive day. Just lots of scattered half finished.
