Taking on the parish lunches could be a lot of extra work. You are right to establish your boundaries, kittkatt, to keep it reasonable. And it sounds like it will be more popular anyway.

I saw the funniest thing on my walk. I am a neighbourhood of high rise apartment buildings fronting the main street, and behind are nice brick bungalows that are being rented out as student digs as the original owners go into retirement homes. In Ontario, it is the landlord's responsibility to mow the lawn, even if the entire house is rented out to one tenant. Anyway, one of these houses has been getting rid of its lawn by replacing it with sand and gravel, so there is only grass on the two sides that front on streets (corner lot). As we walked up the street, we saw a man mowing it on a ride-em mower. There's only half a lawn left! To put this in context, in both my high rise building and the one behind mine, the grounds are mown by a single man with a push mower. As we walked futher up the street and could see the side of the house, we could see the trailer that transported this monster mower, and then we spotted a second man going around with a whippersnipper doing clean up everywhere that was awkward for the ride-em mower. I laughed all the way home.

We just got a delivery of “sand” (lots of rocks in a packing medium, not sure any of it is actual sand) so I’ve been outside supervising that. Now to push myself into actually doing chores before dh gets home and I just want to sit.

I'm not quite done but this is my last ci. The last dinner guest, AA, just left! We were chatting and laughing together after dinner.

I got my main goals done - except for jogging. I was en route to jog along the river around 5:30 on dh's insistence when I decided the rain was really too much for me. Plus, dinner guests were arriving at 6:30.

I still need to do garbage and recycling, duo, and update health apps. Then, I'll head to bed.
