Did Little Bit enjoy spending the night at Grandma's house, L.Ann?

Bama, I think we all need slow days from time to time.

DH and BIL are back. They had a good time, but the buses didn't cooperate on the last stretch through the city. Also DH is not happy that people who don't know them ask whether they are twins, and sometimes even assume DH is the older brother (There's actually 9 years between them, and DH is the youngest . I'm wondering if retirement has had a rejuvenating effect on BIL? ( Less stress and all that?) Also, he gets a lot exercise walking their dog... (No, we are not having a dog, three cats are enough! And we all know who would be the one that did most of the day to day care and the vet visits .)

I've mostly had a low key day, and enjoyed it! I cut the grass this afternoon and fed my pots and swept the patio. Then I moved into the front garden, picked up yet more "bits", topped up the bark, fed the pot on the manhole cover and did a little watering.

Indoors, I've got the spare room looking nice, and the laundry folded and PA. I've also made the most of a quiet house and no interruptions to work on our household budget now I know what all the bills will be, and also the NHS pay rise was agreed yesterday, instead of delaying it until September or even October as has happened in recent years.

I've fed the kitties, and they are now "showing off" and chasing each other through the house as we have a guest. I think I'll try and cube the cheese for the cheese and pineapple for the party tomorrow. It should keep well in a Ziploc bag, and there's plenty of other cheese if DH or BIL get hungry.

Remind BIL to keep his door shut. The cats have no co cept of "personal property" and are also likely to launch a room invasion in the small hours!

Weed /dead head

Pick up "bits" in front garden

Party extras:
Liaise with DF CW - do we know who's coming?
Ask Dnextdoorneighbour C if she could bring some dips for the bread sticks (she asked me yesterday)
Find cool box / bag for the wine
Find the ice blocks for cool box / bag and freeze
Retrieve the nibbles I have bought from their hiding place!
Keep the Nosecco in garage for.now, as it will stay relatively cool there
Start cheese and pineapple, or leave until tomorrow? (Possibly cube the cheese today, as it should be fine in a bag. I think, like many things, it's going to take longer than anticipated, especially if I have BIL and DH underfoot)
Check on seating -do we have enough or do I need to bring folding chairs? Dnextdoorneighbour C has some chairs she has offered to bring

I'm off to bed now, as I expect I'll be woken up early tomorrow. BIL has retired for the night, and I ensured DH did a cat head count to ensure no one was hiding in the spare room, ready to play games in the small hours! I didn't get the cheer don't, but I mended the small hole in my t-shirt where someone had put a claw through it!
