Step Back To See the Big Picture Saturday

Time to breathe, maybe? To step back and say, "okay, what am I missing", or "what did I mean to include", or "how can I join others to get some household hopes and dreams accomplished" ?

Saturdays offer us that different "take" on our weeks. We're less likely to have a rushed day that others have scheduled for us.

How will you be using your weekend to breathe, to step back and remember your priorities? What can you do this weekend that will smooth your way through next week, and the next.

No sooner had I posted than I saw Twins' Mom checking on us. She would have probably had a great start for PWYC.

I have three entire days to be at home. Grateful for a long weekend of Memorial Day remembrances and observance, for a time of slowing down and taking stock of life a little bit.

I hope I can live up to some Friday ambitions or some delegation, at least, today. Maybe feeling a little better. Dr says nothing is happening that is unexpected (for doctor - for me, another story, lol).

My day yesterday was so tiring that I'm just sorta glad to be home and quiet today, lol. Whoever scheduled for the infusion and transfusion areas yesterday was really lousy at their job. I heard "short staffed" over and over again as patients and their loved ones/chauffeurs argued with staff. One gentleman of advanced age and eloquent vocabulary really made himself known! yipes. He had no socks on because he had been wheeled from another area of the hospital, and he got very cold. Ds said that whoever made the foolish scheduling mistakes probably didn't even work in that building - quite true. We just put up with it.

I noticed in gardening thread that Nancy decided to delegate some clean-up chores to squirrels. Also Cathy, I enjoyed your ducks story, lol.

HRH has delegated yet another trip (he just got back) to pharmacy to the kids. This script is very cheap, so he doesn't feel bad about asking for some help with that.

I really like that title. I think it was a topic on one of my devotional readings once not so long ago. Goes for clutter and cleaning too.

I managed to shampoo my living room rug the other day. Finally. It was on my list all winter. Only slightly bad timing cause it is still wet and water in the ditches for my dog to play in and he's terrible at letting me clean his feet. Oh well the rug is 20 years old.... been through kids.. cats.. puppy.. paint... clear coat.. what else could I spill on it. But now it's as clean as it will get. I can finish this room. I really wish I could get rid of the computer desk out of here but then there's the twice a year where ds26 and ddil are planning a movie night using our setup. That's most of why the computer needs to be there hooked up to the projector. Or I could move it to my craft room. The big desk is the clutter in here.

Today's plan? Ugh.. I kinda don't want to. But my plants are all waiting to go in dad's greenhouse. I planted my stuff the same day as the rug cleaning. Plus Tuesday and still Thursday were big truck days at work and I would like to take the day off...

Up later slept in till after six today.
Reflecting and Processing powerful emotions & letting them go had to put on peppy music.
Family camp out we no longer do are OMM.

Planning happened some journaling too.

Bfast is on hold for a few min b/c I took one Rx later than usual. x
Today has good weather and looking ahead next Sat. will be 90* ack not ready for that.

Regretting my dinner & snack choice bc of ack bs today.
Glad for the progress I made on camo. knit prayer shawl this week.

One project Goal is to glue a drawer support on a desk in the basement.
Looking ahead early June new Hobby Lobby is set to open one town over 10 min. from me.

Kids are busy this weekend with other things.

I did have a win to report!
Did my weekly review and was happy to learn I could start tomato plants in water from clippings!
Took ddoggo on drive in our area it was helpful found a plant sale for the community gardens.
Did not go in as it was not well marked did not see it till I was passed it. Not really in need of any
more veg. plants anyway.

Thank you for starting our Saturday Harriet!! I am seeing pictures, but they are either going into or coming out of photo albums. I am working in my library and I decided to tackle some pictures. I've been retired for many years and it was always one of those "when I'm retired" jobs that I used to think I would get to. Why not now? It's unseasonally cold and it's too windy to burn stuff and dh just told me it's starting to rain. Some farmer's fields around here are saturated and some ditches are full.

Dh has gone out, so I should keep going with these pictures and get them done.

Yesterday our refrigerator decided to not play nice. It had an error message and quit working. ****Harrumph*** I was in celebration mode and was not in the mood to deal with another problem. But what is a gal to do? I took a deep breath, grabbed my bootstraps, and got started. After clearing out the food from the refrigerator, I started dismantling and troubleshooting it. Hours later.......... The refrigerator started working again. Do I trust it to keep working long term? Not exactly. It will probably fail again....sooner than I want. I should start the process of selecting a new refrigerator.

Because I tossed a lot of the food in the refrigerator, I didn't have breakfast plans. So we decided to go out to eat this morning. We ate a new-to-us nice restaurant. I wanted to eat something that I don't make at home, so I ordered Eggs Benedict with hollandaise sauce. It was a tasty treat.

Loving what I’m doing here, and dh is having a wonderful time too. Conference ends tomorrow at five. We’ll get back home sometime Monday.

I am so sorry they were short staffed and the care was not what should have been - (((the poor man)))- I agree that the scheduling was probably outside the hospital. very frustrating! I feel for the people that don't have family and friends to watch out for them.

Hello all!!!

I almost drowned mom today - she was too low and I couldn't move her higher and she aspirated on her water - I should have held the bottle. I hadn't wanted to wake dd's up today - the great - I was able to change her in the middle of the night, easily - I learned a few things from the helper and the hospital. (the great - she told me that she made a messy pull-up.)
I will have to keep an eye on her all day and the next few days. I have a stethoscope to listen to her lungs. there is a bit in the bottom of lungs but having her sit up more often should ease it.
Had the nurse here today - she passed but we will keep tract of her lungs
dd older and I changed her and dd gave her a good wash down.

I will have a late lunch - and then finally start outside.

Nancy, that's interesting that you will have a craft store not so far away.

Cathy, you are treading in a territory (photographs) that I just can't face for a while. Got to do it, I know.

Troubleshooting refrigerator ... .. ugh, LadyM, I hope you get some extra time out of your efforts. Good luck!

Ddolder visited a while. She and her boys enjoyed a distant park with waterfall today and she had nice photos.

HRH ordered only 13 items in a WMart grocery order. 8 items were either replaced with something else or just called out of stock. He sent a pretty scathing review, I think. Said it was not delivery's fault, but the failure to update the computerized info on stock, and evidently for a long time. He's an irritated fellow tonight.

We watched an episode of our mystery tonight.
