Sunday PWYC

Post by CathyS »

I've got no idea what to use for a title. We focused on Friday, we looked at the big picture on Saturday and today we could either sit and soak up the sun or we could be getting soaked with rain. So I decided boring was better, based on the weather!

BTW it's sunny and windy here today.

Hi!

It has been my week to cut the grass. It's been pouring rain all week and yesterday was really cold. Dh asked if I was going to cut the grass today, and I said I would.... I might have to wear my winter coat! (Update... over our morning coffee/tea, dh said he wants to cut the grass today so it would get him outside to do stuff and he's bored. As soon as he said he was bored, I told him to go ahead, he could have my turn.)

I made a dent in those pictures last night. I went through all the envelopes to see what type of pictures I had to deal with. Mostly travel shots. Lots of pictures of palm trees, so it's mostly Cuba because we went there over 30 times I think. (Twice a year from 1997 until 2009, and some years it was 3 or 4 times.) Then we switched over to cruising until 2014. Not a lot of travel with current dh. I also went through 3 or 4 photo albums and removed some pictures.

I want to make something in the oven, so I guess I should put the racks back in.

Thank you for the start, Cathy. We have sun and wind today as well.

No church today as the roads are all closed for some run round the city. I may watch the online recording later. But I've used my time well with a slower morning, and stripped the bed right down, changing the mattress and pillow protectors, as well as the sheets. The last LOL is in the machine. I've actually enjoyed this slower, quieter morning, as yesterday was our neighbourhood garden party, which DF CW and I have been planning for weeks. It was successful and everyone really enjoyed themselves, but it was, of course, intensely social!

Lunch is in the oven, and I've put my my vitamins and supplements for the week, as well as weighing out the dried food for Jude and Matilda. I've had coffee with DH, and next I need to fold and PA the laundry that's dry. This afternoon, after lunch, I've earmarked for the garden. :D

Morning girls and thanks for the start Cathy.

I’ve had my shower and stripped the bed. I’m getting ready for the demolition to start tomorrow so I have covered all of my furniture with sheets. My pantry is empty and all of its contents are on my dining room table plus another table that I pulled up next to it. I put up my card table to put my coffee maker and other things on it. Now, all my counters are cleared.

Tomorrow they will start cutting out all of my sheet rock and pulling everything away from the walls. They will dismantle my shelves in my pantry. Hopefully on Tuesday, the tile people will come and will remove my granite countertop from my counters. Then they will tear out the cabinets.

The plumber is coming tomorrow as well to fix my little leak and remove my garbage disposal. He will have to put the cinderblock back from where the pipes have been pulled out. Meanwhile, I’m trying to figure out how we’re gonna eat around here so I guess we’re gonna do microwave things and probably go out to eat on a few times.

Thankfully, most of my things in my pantry were in baskets because I sort like things together and that’s what I do with them. So removing everything from the pantry was OK. I set up my dining room table with the things that I use less in the back and those that we have to grab that we use every day to the front. Hopefully that will work.

As for the rest of the day, I’m not sure what I’m going to do after I have everything set up for tomorrow. Too hot outside for me to sit at pool and read 95° 98° with humidity over 100 so that’s not my kind of fun.

Hope y’all have a wonderful day wherever it leads be back later bye

I have sprayed the interior of the oven with water, so I can wipe it out again to make sure all the chemical residue is gone.

I have also done a quick check on some pictures because one very precious one went missing. I found it, so that made me very happy.

Now I have decided that all the negatives should go in the travel file they belong to. (Example "Havana 2009" negatives go into the "Havana 2009" file) Thankfully the negative envelopes are mostly already dated. That will get things a bit more organized.

I also shredded more pictures. I had some pictures of dd that were bordering on "too personal" and I should never have taken them. No need to worry that they will ever fall into the wrong hands and end up online now that they are shredded. I might burn that shredded stuff. The smoke might be a bit too black but it would make me feel better.

Dh is outside using the weed whacker. It has gotten warmer.

Posting from my phone because our internet is out. We had a storm come through last night and they are working on recovering from the damage I do enjoy DGS28 letting me know the inside scoop (he works for the internet company).

We are in the bullseye for another storm this evening. The weather people are predicting 70mph winds, baseball size hail and 20% chance of tornadoes. I have lost trust in their predictions so i will be weather aware but will only expect some rain to happen.

Checking In a reflective morning for me.
Had interesting dream. Was teary off & on yesterday. No tears this morning and brighter
out look on life is a good thing.

Walk around the back yard 4 laps pulled a weed here and there got my step count to a good
for the morning right off the bat. I was holding coffee so just a stroll. Appreciating that
neighbors were gone glad they could have a break. Also more peaceful for me.

Watered in back & front.
Did some journaling on my deck.
52* / 87* today's temps. first day to near ninety degrees.

Talked with dsis.
Looked at my calendar and fan install is next week not this week.

On line church today one sermon from a month ago.
A bit behind but catching up.

Had my Cran. juice
bfast is next up x.

Nancy, I'm actually a little teary from today's thought-provoking worship, watching online this a.m. Reflective - a good word.

LadyM, well, if you are considered in the bullseye this morning, then maybe it will be like expecting a baby to arrive on the predictive day - highly unlikely that you will still be considered in the bullseye tonight. That's my story, as HRH would say, and I'm sticking with it. :? Best wishes in turbulent, changeable times.

Ramblin', it seems to all be happening so fast. But that is a good thing. I hope the orchestration of it all works out well with good results.

Cathy, whew! Finding a photo again is such a relief. There was one of my dmother, the loss of which haunts me even now. Also, I'm disappointed that my dfirstmil destroyed two meaningful ones that were supposed to be given to my children, because she just didn't like to admit (in denial) how visibly sick their ddad had once been. Good job on properly caring (curating?) for your collection.

Kittykatt, I'm impressed that you do so much work on planning for a neighborhood social event. I'm sure your work is appreciated. That has never been my gift, and I am definitely limiting my entertaining to family as I hit further maturity, learning myself even better!

Harriet the picture that I thought was lost and possibly shredded with some others last night, was a picture of my mom's headstone. I haven't been to her grave in a very long time. I was so happy to discover that I hadn't shredded it by mistake.

After 2 conversations with dh regarding the grass, I went outside to sit with him when he was taking a break from weed whacking. He asked when I was going to cut the grass. ~sigh~ I said I would go inside and put on a hoodie and I would be right out. He went and put some gas in it and checked the oil and off I went.

Thankful for those who are smart, capable, and willing to work whenever there is an outage. I have sent THANK YOU text and am grateful that our internet has been restored.

I have been doing hourly challenges with myself. At the beginning of the hour, I selected 3 easy....very easy.....extremely easy tasks to do before the next TOTH. Because the tasks are so easy then I don't have any resistance in doing them. The result is that those 3 extremely easy tasks get me moving and it results in my brain giving me a dopamine hit...leading to motivation and further success in other endeavors. For me.... A successful hour starts with those extremely easy 3 tasks being planned and executed.

My 12:00pm - 1pm plan includes
1. 250+ steps
2. Kettle ball exercises
3. Read 1+ page in book
