I jogged the arb hill this morning. I was very hot and tired by the end. It's just 0.55 miles up but steepish at points - and about another .7 miles to get to the hill -- but the path is very pretty, meandering around a meadow, through a forest, by the river until I turn up the hill - staying in the forest. I saw a baby rabbit and a ground hog.

I've been here for 11.5 years now, trissie. I'm not at a university -- though I have taught ESL at a university in the past. And at a community college. . . I'm now at a private ESL-only school that provides visas for its intensive English program -- but has corporate clients as well. We help non-native speakers with their business communication skills and business culture knowledge. Well, I don't - I've asked not to teach those classes, but some of the other teachers do. Except "W", the class I used to teach online, is a company located in Utah - and Michigan. I worked with Mexican engineers in Utah.

Time to go to mother's and take dsis2 dog out to potty, then start to plan the planting.
I think we will do that tomorrow afternoon - our local police said they would help me get her back into the car if we take her home to "help" plant. That is so kind of htem.

I'm just running around to all kinds of places today. Glad we are a small-ish city, so nothing is too far, even if I am duplicating areas.
Mother's flowerboxes are south facing, but have a roof over them and 2 large maple trees, so it's shady. Impatiens and begonias mostly, and trailing lobelia and something I don't know the name of.
For the sunny side, which is a flower box at the top of the driveway between the 2 garages, lantana and vinca, which maybe I can plant this afternoon, because tomorrow the new sidewalk crew is going to be tearing out part of the driveway - a sidewalk project paid for by federal money, administered by the state. I should have written to Elon Musk to have it rescinded as the part of my mother's yard they are destroying for the sidewalk is definitely NOT a safer route to school for the children than the sidewalk across the street that has been there for 50 years without incident. And no children living within almost a mile from the side of the street mother house is on. Grrr, I talked to city council but to no avail, well before (months) the work started, but somebody planned this apparently MANY (10-20) years ago, and although the population has changed, the plans haven't

Ugh. I had a really good morning. Bible study was great and then a couple of us went over to w's neighbors who was at the study too and saw her pretty little greenhouse. Came home and did a little planting and digging in the flower bed. I did find ants and I did go get the spray.
I didn't do any phone calls. And my one appointment was such to be between 1 and 3. It's 3 now and my phone just rang but it was dad. I gotta go check the greenhouse. And I should check on them. No appointment call yet. I didn't even go do my license yet. Don't want to get there and then the call comes. I suppose it will happen before the day ends there.

I am so thankful for the relaxing morning. And actually digging in the dirt was relaxing too. I finally gave up at 4 and drove out to dad's. Caught up with them for a bit and then my call came. At 5. Took a bit to get the water system turned on again and by that time a train had stopped and blocked me in. It didn't go till almost 6. I vacuumed the house for them while I waited. They're house got cleaner and all I did here was ... well the kitchen was clean. I chopped back more coleus and put one outside.
I made more mess and uncompleted projects that anything productive. Mostly cause I got called away again.
Then I stopped and picked up some groceries and a few choices for meat to use for supper. Ds started pork chops while i took Casper for another semi aggressive walk. Ugh. He wore me out and I feel like he could put my back out. He didn't but .....
Now I am sitting here trying not to fall asleep again.
