Thinking about tomorrow:

Coffee with MQ at the church - meeting to try and fix a date for the parish Christmas lunch (there wasn't time today, as MQ was very busy setting things up for the service and for the funeral afterwards
Can I drop my watch off to have a new battery fitted?
12 pm hair cut - me
Afternoon plans -if dry, garden time, if wet, clean fridge, kitty nails etc

L Ann - is Little Bit going to school in a year? Already?! Hmm... that's a mystery about the driver's license. Maybe you could try to renew it online and see if that works?
trissie, pork braised in milk sounds so interesting to me. I've never heard of that before -- but maybe that like meat in a cream sauce, which I have heard of. Dinner sounds very tasty. Four weeks still sounds very long.
Ha ha! That's funny about the mastiffs, Doggedly. Good luck with the laundry.
Gma, I can only echo others: you do so much. I'm learning that caretaking is hard! I hope you won't overdo it and hurt your foot more.

That's too bad, trissie. It would be good if you could have some help so that you don't have to do it all alone.

Talk about plenty of advance warning, L.Ann!

Thanks, kittykatt. I think that laundry is one of those things that you never completely run out of clean clothes, but you never run out of laundry to wash either. I go up and down the scale between those two, LOL.
That's great that Freddie is reacting well to his GI food, kittykatt. I have to say that Germane does well on her vet food too. Much better than she was on the good-quality limited-ingredient food from the pet store. What I'm trying now is introducing small pieces of potato. If she doesn't have issues with that, I'll add something else like carrot or green beans and then try fish. If I can find foods that I can good for her that don't cause inflammation, then I can make treats for her.

Thanks, helia. WTG on getting those goals crossed off. They were time-consuming ones.

I have vanquished Inner Brat and emerged from the shower squeaky clean. Now to bring Germane out for a walk. It's hazy out but doesn't look like it's actually raining.

Thursday

Thursday
Signed into work computer for next shift bid
Cleaned up after dog
Put on a pot of coffee
Went through bin of stuff for things to bring on trip
Scrubbed out sink and basin
Washed out sink and basin
Washed a couple of basinsful of dishes
Wiped down accessible surfaces
Checked why my internet bill has gone up
Dropped a service to lower it again
Washed hair
Signed back into work computer to see if I got confirmation of next shift: no.
Walked Germane
Checked mail
Sorted dirty laundry
Checked the laundry on my floor: machines in use
Went to basement.
Got two machines half full with sorted laundry when water came spurting up through the mat in front of the closest machine
It burbled back down, but the mat in front of the machine was soaked.
Stepped around the mat to unload my laundry.
Went to floor after floor after floor: all of the laundry rooms were busy.
Gave up and came back to my floor, ready to give up on another week of laundry not done.
Saw that the washers were free and the dryers were almost done. It’s risky to start laundry assuming that the person with the dryer load will pick it up quickly, but went ahead and started loading my wash. The other tenant came in for her dryer loads while I was still loading, so–win! It’s going to be tight to get finished before they lock the laundry room, but it’s theoretically possible.

Thanks, L.Ann. Since they made the rule about locking the laundry rooms, it has gotten very competitive to get laundry done.
That's good. The half-days will let you ease into having free time. :D

The other tenant came in for her dryer loads while I was still loading, so–win! It’s going to be tight to get finished before they lock the laundry room, but it’s theoretically possible.
Went to flip laundry. As I started loading the non-delicates into a dryer, another tenant came in to ask if she could use one of the dryers, as somebody came and stole her dryers while her clothes were still in the wash cycle. That is beyond bad manners. I told her that I was only going to use one dryer, so she could have the other. Unfortunately, working around her just made me later and later, and I only had 45 minutes of drying time before the cutoff.
At 9:55, I brought my big laundry cart and my cane that folds out to a stool. I sat in the corner behind my laundry cart and read my book, and waited to see how diligent the maintenance guy was going to be. They’re pretty easy going, so I figured that there was a good chance that they would lock me in and call it a night. Sure enough, I saw the lock move, and then peace.
Read until my dryer load finished.
Hung my tshirts.
Brought the laundry back to my apartment. Big win.

Our bank had a fun social event planned. I had signed up and paid. I was looking forward to it. That was before ddog got sick. 2 days before the event, I discovered a cornea (eye) ulcer which immediately required 5-6 treatments a day. I couldn't be gone for 7 hours. So I gave my ticket to neighbor across the street.
Dsis2 and I took Mom home today, while we planted flowers in her front flower boxes. She of course didn't want to go back. It's a tough call. Better to take her out and do things? Or stay in NH full time without diversion other than the activities they plan? We choose to take her out as a better course of action.

Filled/started dw
Overfilled the jug that I use to fill the dw’s tank. Sloshed it over my jeans, my crocs, my counter and my floor.
I wiped it up.

I'm sorry that you didn't get to go to your event, Gma. I am glad that you had your dsister to give moral support to get your dmother to leave her house and go back to the NH.

I have the dw running. I think that I'm going to lie down for a few minutes before I start hanging the laundry.
