Modest Petrovich Mussorgsky (/mʊˈsɔːrɡski, -ˈzɔːrɡ-/; Russian: Модест Петрович Мусоргский; 21 March 1839 – 28 March 1881) was a Russian composer, one of the group known as "The Five." He was an innovator of Russian music in the Romantic period and strove to achieve a uniquely Russian musical identity, often in deliberate defiance of the established conventions of Western music.
Many of Mussorgsky's works were inspired by Russian history, Russian folklore, and other national themes. Such works include the opera Boris Godunov, the orchestral tone poem Night on Bald Mountain and the piano suite Pictures at an Exhibition.
For many years, Mussorgsky's works were mainly known in versions revised or completed by other composers. Many of his most important compositions have posthumously come into their own in their original forms, and some of the original scores are now also available.

Filled/started breadmaker
Filled/ran washing gadget with smaller bags for trip
Hung the laundry
Watered the plants
Medication for Germane
And now I'm heading to bed. Work day again for me tomorrow, but I'm off Tuesday and Wednesday. Then I have four days of work, and it's vacation.

The boards are working now, so I better post my list in case they go down again. It was weird working without one, you know?
I still have a couple minutes before the madness starts again. DS starts late today (the first period teacher is probably out and the class was cancelled- they don't do subbing if they can move the classes around so that either the first or the last are cancelled and kids come in later/leave earlier - that's probably another weird thing for the US, but here kids are on their own to get to/from school), and the twins are to be dropped off at 8:15. They were horrendous to everybody yesterday, so I think we can all use a break.
Bacause of their late drop-off time, I'll be working from home today. Still working on basic research, so it doesn't matter if I am in office or at home! I'd like to get the upstairs cleaned, mow the lawn and run the pool vacuum cleaner, but we shall see how that works out.

I, too, am sooo glad the boards are up and running again. There are lots of appointments in the second half of this week, and also things I need to remember, so I need somewhere to list everything. There's also going to be a bit of juggling involved, as even with the best will in the world, I can't be in two places at once!

2 pm weight check with a vet nurse - Jude
2.30 pm dental check with a vet -Jude (I'm desperately hoping Jude's teeth and gums are fine, as I really don't want two cats recovering from surgery within days of each other!)
6-7 pm Waitrose delivery
Laxapet -Jude and Matilda ( if we didn't do it yesterday)
Put Matilda to bed early with her supper, as she won't be able to graze all night as usual
NO FOOD FOR MATILDA AFTER 10 PM
Friday: DH WFH
8 am Matilda to vet for dental surgery
After she's booked in, drive up the hill amd leave the car at the church (MQ has given permission)
Walk across town to the health centre (much quicker than dealing with rush hour traffic, and parking there is hopeless anyway
)
9.20 am and 10.20 am nurse review is appointments -me (why they're not one after the other beats me - it's with the same.nurse )
If I didn't do this yesterday, pick up chocolates in town for vet and DF CW on the way back to the car
Pick up Matilda at ??
DF CW arrives to babysit Matilda at ?? (DH still hasn't given me the time he wants to leave DF CW has a much loved cat if her own, and is also a very experienced nurse, so, although I'd really rather not go out at all with Matilda.just having had surgery, I know she'll be in very good hands)
Dinner out with DH's amateur dramatic society. We will need to leave them by 10 PM as I've promised DF CW we'll be back by 10.30 pm

Sort out cabinet that wobbles - does the back need some sort of bracing ?
Fix garage guttering that's loose at one end and bending down. Dneighbour R2 may fix?
Fix dripping kitchen tap (new washer ?)- DF E has given me the phone number of her plumber . I think DF CW also has a plumber she is happy with?
Take up and hem those thick winter curtains for the kitchen
Book eye test for me
Find picture hanging equipment for DH
Sort prints and put in albums (this will probably be an activity to do on wet days!) WIP I am now working on 2024
Think about setting up Guardianship for F,J and M - looked on Cats' Protection, I need their microchip numbers, approximate DOB, colour and markings and useful information about them. Bookmark link with local recommended solicitors (also ask DF CW?)

Sort out cabinet that wobbles - does the back need some sort of bracing ?
Fix garage guttering that's loose at one end and bending down. Dneighbour R2 may fix?
Fix dripping kitchen tap (new washer ?)- DF E has given me the phone number of her plumber . I think DF CW also has a plumber she is happy with?
Take up and hem those thick winter curtains for the kitchen
Book eye test for me
Find picture hanging equipment for DH
Sort prints and put in albums (this will probably be an activity to do on wet days!) WIP I am now working on 2024
Think about setting up Guardianship for F,J and M - looked on Cats' Protection, I need their microchip numbers, approximate DOB, colour and markings and useful information about them. Bookmark link with local recommended solicitors (also ask DF CW?)

I spoke too soon, the website started refusing to load for me again this morning. But I've just had lunch and thought I would give it another try. According to https://www.isitdownrightnow.com/
We were up and running again. And I'm glad to say it told the truth!
This morning has been spent mostly . outside -gardening, and going for a walk and taking the opportunity at the same time to post that card.

2.30 pm dental check with a vet -Jude (I'm desperately hoping Jude's teeth and gums are fine, as I really don't want two cats recovering from surgery within days of each other!)

Put Matilda to bed early with her supper, as she won't be able to graze all night as usual

8 am Matilda to vet for dental surgery
After she's booked in, drive up the hill amd leave the car at the church (MQ has given permission)
Walk across town to the health centre (much quicker than dealing with rush hour traffic, and parking there is hopeless anyway )
9.20 am and 10.20 am nurse review is appointments -me (why they're not one after the other beats me - it's with the same.nurse )

DBD is at an art class - normally, it's during the afterschool club, but the teacher had to reschedule. The peace and the quiet in the house are SO good! I decided to treat myself to a peaceful coffee break before I get going again.
