DONE! It took 2 hours 19 minutes to drive 54 miles, walk up/down the aisles while finding the 27 items on shopping list. As always there were some food items that weren't on the list but made their way into the cart. End result = $360 of food and we are fully restocked. It is all unloaded and about 95% of it is put away but a few items are waiting for me to take a break before I finish. I am so very thankful to have a working refrigerator and food restocked again. Life is good.

Posting without catching up -- please forgive -- but had to let y'all know:
Printer is finally working again, no thanks to the internet tech or the printer virtual assistant. I finally decided if it was going to keep telling me the ink was low, all right, I'll change these very expensive cartridges. Sigh. That was all it needed. All is well.

Harriet said Saturday evening --
I was pleased to hear, actually, that your dmother called just to chat - that's nice. I hope she feels well and optimistic.
Well. How quickly things can change.
She called me at 2:00 a.m. Sunday morning, when for once, I was sound asleep at that hour... and I asked if she needed me to come out there. No, she just thought maybe I could "talk" her to sleep. She was in great pain with her back, could NOT fall asleep, and was pretty sure she had cancer.
Of course, the c-word put me into a panic, but I told her she did NOT have cancer, that the doctor would have certainly called if blood work was in to show anything like that. I took more Imodium and Zofran, spent a lot of time in the bathroom, and finally asked, "Have you taken your medicine tonight?"
Hmmm... no... "what day is it, is it Friday?" she asked. :o I said, "NO! It's Saturday night; well, Sunday morning..."
Ah ha! Nope, apparently she had taken no medicine at all Saturday. Which I do not understand, because if you're hurting that bad, wouldn't you first rush to see if you were eligible for some more medicine???
Well... she took it, asked me to stay on the phone with her for a while, and FINALLY -- 4:00 a.m.? I heard her softly snoring. Gunsmoke in the background. I kept my phone on, finally fell asleep around 4:30, and woke up before my 8:00 a.m. alarm. She's still sleeping. I turned the phone off, sent d?bro a text to tell him he needs to call her, and took my shower, went to church.
After church, dgs and I went out there, to find the lost tv remote that she thought was under the couch... yes... and I opened all her mail and discarded the junk mail. Came home, took a LONG nap.

Today, I awoke to a voice mail from her -- no she does not have cancer. All blood work is within normal limits. She does have a UTI. Doctor is calling in antibiotic.
I texted this message to dbro and ds, and went back to sleep.

DGS awoke me at 1:00 pm.

Since then, I have d2s (showered last night at 2:30 a.m. More on that later) Put a load of towels in the washer, vacuumed the laundry room, took dgs home, got the mail, PUPA while on phone with tech support, and typed & printed the minutes from yesterday's meeting, and printed last Monday's meeting.

Why was I in the shower at 2:30 a.m.? First, because I was determined to be ready to dress and go if dmom had an early morning doctor's appointment.
DS called around midnight, on his way home.

DS let me off the phone at 2:00 a.m., saying, "Well, I'm like the all-night deejay. It's time for me to sign off and turn it over to Granny. Keep on truckin.'"
Thankfully, Granny apparently slept well last night and so did I.

I'll bbl and cuop and quit monopolizing the conversation.

I hope it does too, Nancy.

lucylee, although I'm sorry to hear about the UTI (which probably explains your dmother's difficulty about specimen the other day), it's great to hear that other bloodwork is within normal limits and she can relax about all that.

LadyM, that has been a huge project. Good job getting it all done.

Cathy, we now have pouring rain and will have through the night. How were your crafting and fiber groups today?

Kittykatt, hoping Matilda is feeling okay. Meant to say to you, good job on in-advance planning for event date.

Ds and our green-eyed boy came and mowed the lawn just in time before all these wet conditions and before ds and ddil's trip away. They came in to visit briefly and we enjoyed chatting with them.

Tomorrow morning HRH has an appt and he and I will be out the door on about the same schedule as we were today.

So -- I have returned from the meeting. Almost 4 hours ago. DS & dgrands and I went out to eat afterwards.
Since I got home, I have typed the minutes from our meeting, and I have emailed them to the people who need copies. * I also moved this discussion to J&C.
washed two more loads of clothes/towels... need to fold towels and hang clothes to dry.
All this should NOT have taken 4 hours!!! I don't know what happened. Although the minutes were 3 pages long, and I had to refer back and forth to another document and copied and pasted a lot of it.

WTG, LadyM with all that food business, purchase/prep/put away! Sometimes it is sooo tiresome, just keeping a household fed. I need to go to Wmart tomorrow.

Looks like our rain has stopped, for at least the next 24 hours. It was very overcast most of the day today, but I don't think it ever rained.

Oh my, Nancy -- that was so kind of you to put that baby robin back in the nest!
And I am sending good wishes to Matilda, too, kittykat!

I hope all goes well with HRH tomorrow, Harriet. I'm glad you had a pleasant day for your own appointments today!
LOL at HRH's joke about the T-rex.

Blessed, I am so glad you and the caregiver seemed to come to a better understanding of your roles. It sounds like she is a good caregiver, and maybe she just wasn't used to having any family help in her other jobs. I hope all this goes well from here on out!

Waving to ALL of Y'ALL!! I may go to bed with all that's undone left undone. I am so tired. Maybe I can get a fresh start tomorrow with no children underfoot.
Good news from dgd, though -- she had a great time at the drama camp, and at volleyball. She has new knee pads for vb, and says tomorrow she is going to get her own pink volleyball!
Tomorrow is another day.
