Was a delightful afternoon and picnic on the boat on the river - a little claustrophobic for me - very large tri-pontoon boat but eight adults, two adolescents and a preadolescent were a full house. Not over weight limit or max number on the boat and A is a stickler for enough life jackets for all and for the kids, wearing them all the time. The three young ones rode on a large float behind the boat going up and down the river, and while we were anchored and eating they spent a lot of time in the water. I swam for a few minutes also, should have put on a life vest because I'm feeling my swimming skills aren't still there, and it was really hard to pull myself up the ladder back into the boat. Some extra buoyancy would have helped.

The sun takes a lot out of us too tho - even with lots of sunscreen, cover ups and hats. Dh is asleep in his chair already and I'm going to go read in bed with the dog. I know she's missed us.

I was feeling totally overheated by the time I got home, and then had to walk the ddog. I've cooled down now feel better. Perhaps I'll add a little gaterade to my water...

I've barely been home today. I left at 9:30 for dr appointment, was home maybe 45 minutes in between, and got home maybe 45 min ago. I bet I sleep well tonight.

Hey, all! I’m worried about our birdies. Power washer did not harm them last week, and they had a hatchling the other day. The painters did not disturb the nest, either (DC overheard one saying, “I’ll come back and paint the d*** thing by myself if I have to”), but the goings-on seem to have spooked mama and daddy from the nest, and I worry their little one might have starved.

Otherwise, things are going well. They’re just about done with the house, which looks good. I wasn’t sure they could match the stain on the dormer shingles, but you can’t tell where repairs were made.

Work is disappointing. Both projects I’m on have been back-burnered, and various people being out of the office have made it worse. I’m still waiting on a document I was supposed to be done editing by the end of May. With my luck, it will be ready for me about the middle of next week, when I leave for a couple days’ vacation. Meanwhile, I’m putting in about an hour a week, primarily consisting of logging in, checking my email, and finding nothing.

I hope all have been well here. Glad to hear blessed’s DM is making some improvement; sorry it sounds like she’s sundowning. Time for me to head to bed now. Hopefully, I’ll get here earlier tomorrow. Sweet dreams!
