Tuesday - Ta da- it's almost summer! June 17, 2025

I have been thinking of the joys of summer's as a youth and when my children were young; what it felt like, the smells, the feels and the laughter.
I thought that I need to start adding some summer activities into my Ta Da Tuesdays.

How simple those times of were and the joy of those moments -

what lovely moments do you think of when it comes to summer? Childhood memories for me go to sand sticking to my wet skin, the smell of sunscreen, finding creatures and shells along the beach, trying to build water ways that the oncoming waves could fill, showers washing away the sand after a wonderful day outside. being on the water with my parents. Sailing to the water tower in lake Michigan and coming back in and we all voted to go back out again. Putting my feet over the front and waves hitting my legs when the boat went in between the waves.

my children - taking them to the beach, to the woods, to the farm, (more work for me but worth the joy), walking on the beach - trying not to touch the hot sand too long, swimming in the lake, camping in our back yard, teaching about the outdoors, outside fires and story telling, putting a blanket in the shade and watching my girls reading to each other, field trips for the girls and I and my grandmother, family time with dh's mom and family, cousins laughing, laying in the grass and looking at the sky with them as the told me what the clouds looked liked to them, sun kissed cheeks, fireworks at the pier up north, collecting flowers in the meadow and just enjoying each other.

What will your ta da's be - a moment for you, a moment of blessing your house, or your family?

right now I am watering outside - it's supposed to be in the 90's - not my thing

help dd younger - I want her stuff put away

clean the cars - used to be Friday but I will make it a Tuesday task.

clean the bird baths. and dogs pools

stop over at tree store to ask for refund or another tree. turns out whomever they got it from chopped the trunk way to short and it died.

dd's arent' happy with caretaker playing passive aggressive with me. They see it and aren't thrilled with the game she is playing. We had quite a few moments bc she was upset that I told her not to walk mom in the walker without someone else and to call me rather than getting dd younger (especially when I am right there) hoping for a good day today with caretaker. (we all have the rule about the walker and d mom- we call each other)

Oh I love it. Summer. I have so few memories of summer. Well sort of. They are there but I have to think for a bit. Camping. Fishing. We did a lot of that when I was a kid. Once we had kids not so much. Too much stuff and just not our lifestyle as a married couple. We need to do something at the lake again.

Blessed I really don't know if that caregiver is the right fit. I know they are hard to come by sometimes. It's such a hard choice.

Harriet I hope today is a day to feel better.

I am planning quick tidy here this morning and work in a couple hours. Have to think a bit about seasonal changeover and see if I can give some instruction so they have goals.

Tomorrow I will go work on the garden at dad's. Weeding. Mostly. I wish I could get some more plants. The big raised beds something got in there. Tomatoes and peppers. Got chewed off. Some are gone. Some have a few branches left. Rat? Groundhog? Squirrels? I don't know. That was supposed to be the good part of the garden. Nothing left.

I'll see what comes of it. Dad wanted to go to a 50th anniversary thing the other day. On top of nephew's grad. Mom wouldn't leave the house. Almost didn't want to go to the grad either. So tomorrow I will go watch mom he can go visit them for a bit. If she's up to it she can come out to see or in bed and I can work. We'll see.

I agree she is not the right fit. Today I nicely reiterated to her that our family agreed ,earlier, that all of us need's another person to help when mom is using the walker. (at least for now). I have a really hard time with others covering their fanny - fibbing - I am a person who doesn't care if a mistake is made because it's a mistake but fibs, blaming mom, blaming others or taking credit for others wok is very difficult for me to take in.

I told her nicely that she needed another person to help when mom is using the walker. She said she was about to call us but that was a fib bc she had already walked her quite a bit. Then she said the pt person said the same thing, as I was saying, and that she would never do that. I have to watch my internal feelings; bc my eyes flashed at the fib. I didn't mention yesterday and look to move forward today.

dh spoke to dd's about the caretaker and how she acts to me - I never said a word to him. If he notices it is probably not my imagination.

I will give her some more time. dd's want to fire her. She gets paid really really really well; so I wonder why she needs to fib and play games. I am sure it 's from previous jobs.

I luv summer time when it's warm enough to go outside and journal on my deck hear the birds and
see my flowers in bloom holly hocks this week.
Yesterday dd noticed I had on lipstick for my walk my pink plaid cotton long sleeved shirt and pink shoes.
Dress with intention card today is blue! [ LOL still in PJ bottoms however. ]
Got dressed. s2s happened last nite before bed.
I need to fix my hair and put in a diff. hair tie. X
I put on lip stick most every day mostly do it so ddoggo does not associate it with me leaving the house. x
Trash is at the curb.
Walk X
Back from the store.

Glad I got the bag of clothing donations upstairs and ready to go out the door.
What worked yesterday was a class I listened to while I was doing that task.

So happy to have clean windows was thinking that was not a winter task! LOL!
I found seasonal music and have been turning it on some times.

Blessedw2 I'm sure I'm not the only one here that thinks she should be fired today. Stop being so soft. She isn't fibbing, she is outright lying to your face and getting away with it. ENOUGH ALREADY!! Please stop letting her walk all over you. Your dd's both want her fired and your dh sees what's going on. We all see it. Can't you stand up for yourself and your MOM and get rid of this awful person?

Dh is waiting for me to go somewhere with him, but I had to get that off my chest. Sorry Blessedw2, but you need to stop this abuse against your mom's safety by this "helper". She isn't helping!

Blessed - Thanks for the start today. I agree with others that the person helping with your DMom is not a good fit in this job. She doesn't seem trustworthy, which makes me hope there are cameras in place to see what happens when no one is around. ((((Hugs for all you are dealing with))))

It's a good day to have a good day. I don't know why that saying is stuck in my head, but it shows up almost every day. The book I am reading this month (living the 4:8 principle) is having a beneficial effect on my mental health.

Yesterday trip to the city had some positive results.
** DS16 pickup was checked by professionals and no problems were found.
** Wedding clothing prep progress was made. The pants ordered online didn't fit so they were dropped off at UPS store to be returned. DS16 and GF found matching shoes that came with a hefty price tag. Part of me groans at this but the other part of me smiles with their intentionality of being a couple. I remind myself that it is shoes, so I need to let it go. Of all the things that I spend money on this won't matter.
** DD14 is spiraling in a direction that isn't good when considering long term. We discussed actions to implement with counselor.

So sorry to hear the news that Kim Woodburn, of "How Clean Is Your House?" fame, has passed away at age 83. Her costar and coauthor Aggie McKenzie said, "Behind the fierce persona was deep pain and incredible strength. She survived because she had to. I hope she’s resting now. She was an unforgettable woman."


HRH is toying with the idea of us driving out and picking up some Asian food. We'll see.

Home from body work, aka a massage, although its myofascial, not a "rub a dub" massage. Let's see if I feel more balanced and aligned too.

I took out a pork loin for our supper - probably in oven although would be good on the grill on a lower temp perhaps. I think I have either yellow squash or corn to go with it, and a green veggie of some kind.

I'm all over the place today. Need accountability so at the TOTH I'll work for 45 min. First up is to write HOA checks.
