Sunny Saturday PWYC
Whether through disposition or weather, have a Sunny Day! I think we have sun here, and we will probably head to the river later!

Re: Sunny Saturday PWYC
Going to a bar mitzvah this morning...had late night with neighbors with whom we had Mexican food earlier. They came over and talked and first thing we knew it was eleven p.m. We had a good time.
I'm trying to get most of a.m. routine done before we take off in about 20 minutes.
Tomorrow we have to go back to temple for annual meeting in the afternoon. Dh is taking a walk with ds tomorrow morning while I sleep in. I don't get up early enough for those two.

Have fun at the river, Twins'.
Good job on finish of a prayer shawl, Nancy.
lucylee, I have never heard of bears like that, so I don't know if people have been glad to have done that with loved one's clothing. Maybe look for reviews? Although you might get reviews on whether they are made well or priced well rather than whether they are appreciated. My ddolder used a company called Quilt My Shirts dot com, I believe, to make quilts out of my late dsonil's tee shirts and was very pleased. It was not cheap. Cost more because only serger machines can work on knit fabrics. In other words, had I been so inclined, I couldn't have made one for her - don't have the machine. I saved only one shirt (woven fabric) when my late dh passed away and I've regretted not saving more, although I will say that his clothing for almost everything, even church, was polo shirts. I've used that shirt fabric in at least three quilts, though, and still have some left.

HRH couldn't sleep this a.m., ended up waking me to the point I couldn't go back to sleep. So, I guess you could say I got out on the wrong side of the bed this morning, after more "can't really sleep" for me, while he made noises through the house. Then I found the sink full of dishes as if I've never said please don't DO that, which is how he considers the rest of the kitchen neat, maybe?... ... or... .. what? It's like a boobie trap
which of the unnecessarily more dirty/greasy dishes do I plan to break trying to get them out again before I can start working. He also had taken a long walk by himself without telling anyone, which irritated me as soon as I wasn't worried anymore. We've said he wouldn't do that because he does not carry a cell phone and is not visible a lot of the way. He can't understand why I wouldn't have his idea of breakfast with him and I just give up on reminding that I try to have a healthy breakfast ever since we married. I guess I could have ... .. but I can't eat for one-half to one hour after first getting my thyroid pill into me anyway and he knows that. So he ate unhealthily by himself. Sometimes I just think I wake up to a completely different house or something, especially if I am not the one up first.
Dbrotheril called - he has quit his job and purchased an existing business.
Wow. He will have three-day weekends consistently now. He'll be needing HRH's help to set up his computers for lots of things. I don't even know what the business is but something requiring delivery on a regular route. I hope he will be happy - his job was managing an Al dis, which is the highest paying company for grocery managers (but they have a reputation for working their managers to an early death, too). I think he had developed a lot of aches and pains and wanted to give his body a break from so much walking on concrete floors. He's ten years younger than HRH.
Next up - get a better attitude, SUNNY disposition.

Re: Sunny Saturday PWYC
Good morning
DH is already out push mowing the front yard. He enjoys doing it and it is great exercise. Being battery powered means it limits DH usage to about an hour. Otherwise, DH would keep going which would put him in danger of heat stroke. The mower is self-propelled, so all DH needs to do is hold on and walk behind it. It is a better workout for DH than a tread mill (IMHO).
One recent change I made to DH mowing experience is adding UPF 50 sleeves. It was an experiment that turned out to be a total win!
This is day #3 of a 4 day experiment to give my right hip a rest. I am working on foot placement when I take steps and it seems to be helping. I have not walked at normal speed yet and will try not to until Monday.

Re: Sunny Saturday PWYC
Hi!
I did another adult thing. I made the strawberry jam this morning instead of letting the strawberries sit in the fridge just a bit too long and then not being as good as they could be. Dh sat down at the kitchen table with his coffee and I brought out all 6 containers and 2 knives. We sat there and kept going until all the berries were hulled! I got them on the stove right after that. Now I have 9 jars of strawberry jam on the counter with the unneeded berries in the freezer on a tray.
Now I am going to go to a local garage sale that the Women's Institute puts on every year. When I come home, I will cut the grass and then most likely have a nap.

But you don’t think I’m terrible for thinking this ahead of time, Harriet?

But you don’t think I’m terrible for thinking this ahead of time, Harriet? I think that's what really bothers me. Of course, maybe that's just part of the "anticipatory grief" that my pastor talked about -- that we knew about dh's heart trouble for so long before that I had a lot of time to try to prepare myself. I don't know... I'm just crazy. As far as quality goes, dcousin used a lady here in town and did this for her nieces and nephew with her sister/their grandmother's shirts. They look very nice in photos and their mom says they love them. OTOH, she did not embroider names so that's thing I want to make sure she can do. The FB lady has TONS of pictures and is obviously busy, so people must be pleased with her work -- and she recently showed five she had done for a set of sisters, using their mom's wedding dress! So if people would trust her with those, she must do quality work.
Dcousin said she would ask the lady she used about doing three for me, so I guess I will let that ride for a while and if the answer comes back affirmative, I will go ahead and use her, just for the ease of having it done close by and with someone dcousin knows.
Anyway -- dgs is off to go bowling with his parents and sister. I hope they have a good day. When I woke up at 10:45, he was already in the shower. When he got out, I said, "Thank you for waking yourself up." He said, "I DIDN'T wake myself up. They did. They were DESPERATELY trying to get ahold of me and they finally woke me up!" LOL... they weren't THAT desperate -- they never tried to call or message me. Anyway, they're gone and I won't be on Nana-duty till tomorrow afternoon.
It is another sunny day here, and I am going to do some of the outside stuff. I put on shorts, and I'll s2clean clothes later.
I've already recharged and put back the Ring doorbell. I need to check the settings and see if there's a way to turn it off while I'm cleaning the entry area around my backdoor. * Hindsight is 20/20 -- I should have cleaned that before I put the doorbell back!
Have fun at the river, Twins! I kinda miss those days on my dad's boat. I never appreciated it when he was here.
WTG, Nancy! I hope to be proud of my progress by evening!
I suspect a NAP will be my reward, Cathy -- I was up until past 5:00 am, reading a book on my phone. I just couldn't sleep. Maybe too much caffeine, and maybe too much general anxiety. Not in a real panic about anything, just edgy and teary.
LadyM, I am so glad LordM feels like mowing and enjoys that. AND glad you have all these "precautions" in place. I am saying a prayer that he has a good day.

Re: Sunny Saturday PWYC
LucyLee - I don't think you are terrible. Give yourself some grace, dear.
I have thoughts that go racing through my mind all the time. This morning DS16 & GF are driving to the big city. The thought went flying through my mind "but what if they get into a wreck and are hurt or killed?" I counter that thought with the facts. We have spent years training DS16 to drive in all kinds of environments. He is as well trained as we can do. I said a prayer of protection for them and then let those worrying thoughts go and be replaced by peace & assurance that God has got this.
Then a little bit later a thought will go flying through my mind...What if DH gets hurt in the shop when he is there alone? Again....I have done everything I know to do to keep him safe. I say a prayer for protection and release the worry. I can't trust God and worry at the same time. I wish I was stronger, so I didn't have to keep repeating these worry/what-if thoughts/facts/prayers. It seems I can overthink an endless number of what-ifs. I am not proud of that.
I've spent some time moving around without any hip pain. I am still limiting my walking speed to ensure I pay attention to my posture & step form. I washed down the outside & inside of the refrigerator, stove, and trash can without any problems or pain. I did some food prep in the kitchen and gathered a bucket of vegetables from the garden. Still no hip pain. I have hope.
