People think in advance about all kinds of end-of-life decisions. If we didn't, there would be much less for insurance agents, charity treasurers and funeral home directors to do. Frankly, one of the reasons people keep their loved one's favorite hymns or songs or scripture or poems in mind is for the time when that loved one will have passed, and a question may be asked by a speaker, clergy or musician. Think of the lawyers who prepare a couple's wills or advise on them... .. etc., etc. My dfirstmil put stickers on the bottoms of many items in her home so that they would go to the descendent she felt best, BECAUSE she had seen examples of confusion or mistakes in previous generations when no one had thought in advance. This is why all the ugliest quilts in the family went to me - I was the only one who could possibly love them! I mention all these things because they are driven by the belief that we honor those who are loved. If we didn't care, we'd ignore quite religiously. Oh, I don't know... .. maybe we'd put in our wills that so-and-so gets a lump of coal or something, but it's still advance thinking, which is pretty universal.

Today I'm glad that I did not buy the ladder I thought seriously about getting;
one that folds into diff. positions.
Almost went back for it when I was asking another guy got all curious about it so I left.
Then reasoned it was in my budget.
Later realized that if I do get the house painted crews will have their own ladders.
Saved me $35!

Back inside after using the new to me planner about my wins for the past 6 mo.
Then pruned the roses back from the walking paths got a can full of branches none
are too big if they were long I cut em down.

Good news a place with two big German Shephard dogs that bark at me on my walks
have their place for sale looks like they have moved the dogs out not sure if people are there
or not. I am SO relieved!

Maybe we all should start worrying about ds, once he IS safely back home? I’d be upset too, LadyM!

I spent approximately 40-45 min on the back entry. It’s kinda a small space, just big enough for the door to open, and it is surrounded by vinyl siding. The siding gets mildew or something on it and I finally took time to clean that and sweep. Also washed the glass in the storm door.
Now I’m going to do the front door.

It is HOT out there! I came in to take a break and ate a salad.

Howdy…

I was up this morning and had to go to the dermatologist for my six month checkup. Of course I came home with several places that they had to freeze. No surprise there. Then when I got home, I took a shower and my daughter-in-law called and asked if I wanted to go with her and the grandkids to Lowe’s to do a kids build a block. I said I’d be glad to go and we had a good time. Then we went to target to return some things and my granddaughter, of course had a huge meltdown. She screamed and squalled all the way through target but we just ignored her and let her go.

Came home and brought the kids inside so they could see sweetie. Also to show my daughter-in-law my new kitchen. She really likes it so that made me happy. We visited for a while and they were off on their way home. Sweetie and I were gonna go out to our favorite Culver’s for fast food for dinner tonight, but the thunderstorms are ripping through again, so I guess I’ll make him a chicken sandwich here at home.

We are in our rainy season. We have storms every day usually around 4 o’clock, but sometimes not until seven. Thunder has been amazing and we’ve gotten over 5 inches of rain in the last two days. We were in a drought so we needed it.

I of course, I’m thinking of head about things to come with sweetie. It’s only natural and normal considering our situation. Thankfully, we have discussed many scenarios that might show up so I have an idea of what to do when something occurs. I don’t find thinking about those kind weird.

For years, whenever I would visit my parents, I would always think about what if this is the last time I get to see them. Especially since we live so far apart. I think those kind of thoughts are all normal for a lot of people.

I have also washed the glass on the front door (storm door) and I am going to do some washing of the concrete out there while I’m still in sweaty shorts and t-shirt. Bird poop is AWFUL out there, especially under the swing.

My mother thinks I’m a little bit silly to be thinking this way too. She said I was just looking for something to feel guilty about.

I was all ready to cut the grass and dh said it looked like rain. We both had an afternoon nap. It still hasn't rained. It is overcast and very humid. There are heat warnings and weather is expected to get hotter and hotter until Tuesday.

LucyLee when we were looking at house before we bought this one, both of us had things we didn't want. Dh didn't want a basement because he didn't want me going up and down stairs with laundry in my rms in case I fell. I was looking at how accessible the house was. This house won on all the points, including no basement and it's accessible. I won't need to have a ramp built to get in or out of the house. I thinking being able to look ahead has it's benefits.

my d mom in law had all her hymns, she loved, written on her funeral wishes. she ha everything set up.

it's been a busy morning here

brother gave us a big compliment. He said that mom is getting better help than the nursing home.
he put cameras in for us today. (kitchen and mom's bedroom)

it's 95 - tomorrow to Tuesday it is supposed to be 102

Finished watching a series.
I have done the vacuuming in the living room .
Swiffered the kitchen & dining room & hall areas.
Had lunch earlier.
Fetched mail.
Paid a bill that frees up desk day task.
Dinner is thawing now.

Put away yarns in a wheeled tote I got at a garage sale it was new still in the wrapper.
De-cluttered some books & journals I"d read in the living room book case and now have room for some keeper writing books.
Watered the tom. plants.
