Re: Ms. Marvel Monday @ TDD - C&C
Kamala Khan is a superheroine who appears in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by editors Sana Amanat and Stephen Wacker, writer G. Willow Wilson, and artists Adrian Alphona and Jamie McKelvie, Kamala is Marvel's first major Muslim protagonist character and Pakistani-American personality with her own comic book. In the Marvel Universe, she is a teenage Pakistani-American from Jersey City, New Jersey with body-morphing abilities who discovers that she has Inhuman genes in the aftermath of the "Inhumanity" storyline. She assumes the mantle of Ms. Marvel from her idol, Carol Danvers, after Danvers becomes Captain Marvel.

Re: Ms. Marvel Monday @ TDD - C&C
Good morning, Trissie, and thank you for the start. I'm not familiar with Ms Marvel, so my mind automatically went to Eva Gabor as Lisa Douglas in Green Acres, saying, "Darling, you look marvellous!"
(My mind often works in mysterious ways!
)
DH has left for work, and the house is quiet! I need to practise using my time more effectively, as if DH retires at the end of this BB year (which is a distinct possibility), I'm not going to have this time to sit and plan/ dream. There are also some things I would like to get done round the house before he does retire - a good declutter in the kitchen and bedroom comes to mind, and I also need to get some "stuff" ( mostly surplus from my dolls house ) listed on eBay. I am giving myself until the end of August to do this latter task. It doesn't have to be sold (that's out of my hands after all) but it needs to be divided into lots, cleaned up, photographed, boxed up ready to send and listed on eBay by then. Or ... it will go to the charity shop. I need to chip away at it a bit at a time, so it's not overwhelming. DH is away for two long weekends in July, so that might me a good time to get everything out and sort through it.. If I can just get it all divided into lots, then I can work on one box at a time.
Today, the main thing OMM is Matilda's post op check up at the vet's at 2.30 pm. I have just over 5 hours before we need to leave, so I should be able to achieve a reasonable amount by then. It's a nice morning, sunny and breezy, so as soon as I've walked Freddie and had breakfast, I want to have some time in my garden before it gets hot. That way I can be indoors during the hottest part of the day.

Re: Ms. Marvel Monday @ TDD - C&C
Ooh, are we doing superheroes this week, trissie? I'm not familiar with Ms. Marvel either!
I hope all is well at Matilda's post-op check up, Kitty. Wow - prepping for possible retirement. You both seem too young!
I was both surprised and not surprised you'd heard of Zingerman's!
Good luck with the insurance issue, L Ann. That's not my favorite thing to do either.
I didn't get back here yesterday; it was another busy day - no down time until we arrived at the bnb after 10 pm. The day: We went to church with the Ys followed by lunch at Zingerman's. We didn't get sandwiches, which they're famous for, as the wait for a sandwich was 15-25 minutes -- but we got coffee, pastries, and pre-made sandwiches at their coffee shop. Then, I rushed off to visit my mom. She was sleepy as usual - but she did say a sentence out loud, which was amazing. I hadn't heard her speak for quite a while! They said she's eating her pureed food well, so that's good. I renewed her yogurt and Sunny D supply. Then, I packed and did a little house spiffing for our housemate. We left around 5 pm, stopped to pick up dinner along the way, and arrived around 10 pm. ET (9 pm CT). There were 2 big slow downs along the way; construction is starting again.
TODAY: It is already 84*F here with a forecast high of 96*F (35.5C). Yesterday, we got into the mid 90s in our small city in Michigan. This is so hot for us. Our friends from Texas were not impressed. LOL! Today, I plan to go to the grocery store, go for a walk, catch up on some deskwork stuff, and do some writing.

Re: Ms. Marvel Monday @ TDD - C&C
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. We worked in the yard Saturday and went to a family reunion (dh’s dad’s side of the family) on Sunday. My kids keep telling me I need to get out more so I “networked” and got everyone’s information, some live close enough to visit with, some live further off but visit this area sometimes so we shall see what will come of it. It was a very nice weekend. Now I’ve overslept, gained almost 2 lbs and need to get moving.
Trissie, thanks for the start. I’m unaware of most of the Marvel world, seems like new ones keep popping up in new movies, but dh seems to know them all, he must have kept his nose in comic books growing up lol.
Kittykatt, I hope Matilda has been healing well. I had to look up the mice, I didn’t know such a thing existed. Added it to my cart. I’m in the same situation with my dh, he hopes to retire sooner rather than later, and I know I will make better progress by myself so I need to pick up my pace. My closet has been emptied for weeks
LAnn, it’s all about priorities lol. Good luck with the insurance.
Helia, how sweet to hear your mom. Texans know some real heat. Our heat index is over 100 this week and I need to mow. I got an electric neck fan, it’s getting tested today if I make it outdoors.
To Do:
Get dressed
Weigh
Bathroom chores - cat food and water, litter, wipe down surfaces
♥ Wake each day expecting good things to happen! ♥

Re: Ms. Marvel Monday @ TDD - C&C
Good morning all. Our heat is moving east. The high was at midnight. we had 2 days of intense heat, humidity. I hope you who are impacted can find some coolness.
Today's agenda includes
video dr visit with dfBS. Check her heating-cooling system. I got a phone call from her housekeeper that it needs checking.
emoty my trunk, which has a bag of weeds from the cabin.
Work on weeds and perhaps figure out how to plant some flowers in mother's back garden.
While doing that, think about how I can organize my papers, so I can clear off my K table that has a bunch of papers (as does the DR table, which will be next)
