Sorry about the heat, L.Ann. I hope that it breaks soon.

Hi, Peaches.

Sometimes phone games in your blanket fort is the best form of self-care, Bama.

Germane is just at that age where she will be seeing a lot of her doctor, kitkat. Her eye keeps getting infected, her back legs aren't working properly, and she has started chewing and scratching sores into herself. We're just trying to keep her comfortable
Of course, I lost control of my bowl while I was chopping a boiled egg to add to my pasta and pesto, so Germane will be showing up at the vet with egg yolk in her beard while I'm saying that I only feed her her prescribed food, LOL.

Thursday
Cleaned up after dog
Made coffee
Prepped granny cart for trip to vet: Removed extra shopping bags, put in canned dog food to return, purse, clean up supplies
Cleaned out cans and put them in recycling
Found the big cutlery basket
Scrubbed out sink and basin
Washed some dishes
Put the rice cooker liner in to soak
Cleaned out cans and put them in recycling
Filled dw to run later
FACE’d finances: there is a deposit in my account that is less than the pension amount in the letter.
Fixed my login for one part of the govt web site
Updated login info in password keeper
Put on pasta for lunch
Washed more dishes
Checked if farm stall is open–it is, opened today! Maybe after Germane’s appointment I could go? It will mean sitting in rush hour traffic. And there’s still the laundry to do. But, on the other hand, fresh local vegetables. Isn’t that what we waited all winter for?

I have to race to clean myself up and take Germane out for her adventure. See you all later!

WTG on the freezer, kitkat!
Stay cool, L Ann. I see you didn't stay at the pool with Little Bit today.
Hoping all is well with Germane, Doggedly.
Bama, I think I'd like some carbs too! We're eating lots of gluten now - since we can! :D Enjoy the movie.
Hi Peaches!
Sounds like a full day as usual, Gma.
Lauralind, you must be very sensitive to the anesthesia. Maybe they can figure something different out for you? First time, I actually woke up in the middle of it. I still remember some of their conversations and then watching the screen for a bit until they realized I was awake. LOL!

I hope that was everyone; I can't go back any further.

I'm peeking in - being super lazy on my last quiet day before we join the CG1 busyness - camping with 25 people; 13 adults and 12 kids, ages 7 - 20, if the eldest comes - but I'm not sure he will. One family is not coming, otherwise we'd be 28 people.

To be honest, Dh is the main crepe chef; I'm the sous chef. I'm in charge of getting the ingredients and prepping the toppings, of which we always have a lot. We do this every year so it's a hardened tradition. Some of the parents have told us that this is the food highlight of the weekend for their kids. LOL! We bring a large jar of Nutella, for one thing. ;)

Main Goals for Today
1. Morning Routine
2. Email reply to EP
3. payroll: update the exam record
4. Writing time
5. Go for a long walk
6. Progress on med deskwork items

Next:
- some qt
- one phone call
- writing progress

Later:
- go for a walk - perhaps go to a park nearby
- payroll: update exam record
- renew my script
- cancel my mom's next appointment
- can I get Mom a patient portal?
- email reply to EP
- Repack camping duffle
- writing time
- dinner out with dh
- duo
- update health apps

TaDas!
- up and coffee made
- set up phone to recharge it (involves a cord and a dongle)
- checked multiple weather forecasts; it looks like we might get some light rain on Friday on the camping trip - but that's it :)
- back exercises
- s2s and self care
- made the bed
- lunch
- texts with M; no more bites - but she's been sleeping in the play room
- texts with dh and AA; AA is going out to eat with some other conference attendees; I'll pick up dh and we'll get a date night! ❤️
- kitchen clean; sorted out recycling

Hello, everyone!

Dogged, I feel your pain. I announced to the vet when Matilda went for her first dental appointment that they weren't given any sugar ... and then the following day discovered a large crater in the buttercream of the cake I had iced! ( By process of elimination, the culprit was Freddie! Matilda has been in the bedroom and Jude in the office.

Helian, I hope the weather holds for the camping trip. The crêpes sound delicious!

WTG with the freezer, KitKat!

Laura, I hope you can get the anaesthetic sorted out. I think that's a really good idea to have a chat with the anaesthetist before hand to voice your concerns. In my experience ( admittedly with a cat!) there's usually a way round concerns. In the past Freddie has woken up when his right hip was being positioned for x-ray, and attacked the vet. I was able to voice my concerns in an appointment before his procedure, and the vet said not to worry, they would use ketamine on him as usual, and give him "a little drop more" just before they did his hips. That was evidently successful, as no one was injured this year. :D So I'm sure there is a solution for you!

You have another busy day ahead, Gma!

WTG getting your appointment booked, L.Ann!

Bama, we all need some time to play!

Hi, Peaches!

Today has been good - there were five of us for parish lunch, which is a huge improvement on on 3! Everyone enjoyed themselves, and we'll be going back there in the autumn. The car is hoovered, I've ordered Fred's meds and food, the groceries have been delivered and PA, and everyone has been fed. Oh, and I've been to the garden centre and also had some time in my garden. Matilda is currently asleep on my lap.🐱

I see that you have another full day with Little Bit, L.Ann. She's a lucky girl!

WTG on getting your freezer cleaned out, kitkat. That's a big one. Any unearthed treasures to celebrate?

I woke up from an operation too, helian. For some reason, I thought that I should leave and I believed that I could accomplish that using only my neck muscles. I remember whipping my head from side to side to build up momentum for my escape while someone chased my face with the mask to put me back under. I believe they won.

I'll bet that the toppings are a lot of work, helia, but I would still rather be on toppings than the crepes, LOL.

Adventures in veterinary care, Kittykatt. What our beasties get up to!
I'm glad that your parish lunch went well.

Germane's appointment went well. Her eye is already clearing up, just from my dabbing it with a wet washcloth, but we will still restart her eye drops. I walked her up and down the hallway to show the doctor the problem with her gait and he manipulated her legs. She doesn't seem to have IVDD so much as arthritis, and for that he prescribed rest, which is pretty much our lifestyle. And she's golng on Apoquel for the increase her allergy symptoms. I can't believe how good she was. She never even growled at him, even when he was manipulating her legs and pressing on her back. I was expecting the full Freddie experience, and in fact the doctor told me that he had been scratched by an earlier patient today.

I really felt my age by the time that we got home, and it's such a short walk. I ended up resting on a bench that is set up on my apartment building's grounds right next to the old age home. I'm going to get a snack and then decide if I'm ready to start laundry.

Showered/washed hair
Walked Germane to the animal hospital. Things are looking good. We are going to start her eye drops again, start her on Apoquel again, and restrict her exercise.
Swapped out the case of HP food that she won’t eat for the food that she likes.
Walked home. Ran out of steam at the old people’s bench, so we sat and enjoyed the summer air for a while. Walked the rest of the way home.
Checked mail.
Found Germane’s eye drops.
Called the animal hospital to tell them that I don’t need the new prescription.
