Madame Alfred Carriere rose is a fabulous, old Climbing rose with almost thornless pliable stems and abundant, light green foliage. It's very fragrant, fully double, blush-tinted creamy-white blooms around 10cm across, are almost continuously blooming in summer and autumn in large numbers. It is a classic rose, one that is wonderfully fragrant, repeat flowers, vigorous pliant growth which is easily trained with a rambling habit. It loves full sun, and will also grow well on a north wall or a semi-shaded position.

Good morning everyone and happy Monday!

Gma, how wonderful you managed to find your long list school friend . And your church service sounded lovely!

Today is supposed to be very hot - up into the 30s C. So, my plan is to go out I to my garden first thing, and walk this evening. I'll start my housework at the front of the house which faces NW, and wait until the sun has gone round to clean the bedroom, which faces SW. At least, that's the theory! I think DH has A/C at the office, so he should be ok. The cats will fnd a cool spot to hang out in. So my little family is all taken care of

Fix dripping kitchen tap (new washer ?)- DF E has given me the phone number of her plumber . I think DF CW also has a plumber she is happy with?

Find picture hanging equipment for DH
Sort prints and put in albums (this will probably be an activity to do on wet days!) WIP I am now working on 2024
Think about setting up Guardianship for F,J and M - looked on Cats' Protection, I need their microchip numbers, approximate DOB, colour and markings and useful information about them. Bookmark link with local recommended solicitors (also ask DF CW?)
Change health centres to the one nearest us? On hold ATM , but I'll leave it on my list so I don't forget.

Things that need to happen at home before DH retires!
Reorganise office (DH wants a new to him desk that work is getting rid of. Can I empty the tallboy and move it into the bedroom? Remember to measure at its widest point to see if it will fit!
More decluttering in bedroom - drawers under the bed, my clothes (a continuous process!)
Kitchen - measure for fridge, measure where bins are going to go. Order new fridge. Move freezer to where current fridge is now? Go through cubby hole which houses miscellaneous "stuff", including the surplus from my dolls house project (this is on a pause now until the winter, but I have all the pieces I need, ... and a lot of surplus!
Get it all out and divide into lots. WIP
Do I have enough boxes and bubble wrap? I think so
Clean everything so it looks its best and photograph.
Write description and list on eBay. Remember to state we are a smoke free home.I can do most of this this one box at a time, so it isn't overwhelming .
Once the boxes are sealed and wrapped and labelled with the contents, I can store them in the garage.
Decide what is going back in cubby hole - gardening trug? Extension cable, spare boxes of cat food? Will my folding chair fit? Yes

I spent most of the morning in my garden, just coming in when it started to get too hot. Freddie is currently on my lap (he hasn't done that for ages!), but I have tidied the kitchen and sorted the rubbish out. As soon as I'm released by my feline overlord, I'll make a start upstairs.

Hi! Nobody has started a post over in PWYC, so I thought I would pop in here to say hello.

I've been putting little odds and ends away. Sometimes things become part of the landscape. I've been trying to keep the kitchen island clear. It attracts all sorts of things.

As soon as I started to type this, my dh stumbled past and I asked if he was up for the day. Time to make him a coffee and reheat my tea.

Hi, Cathy, how nice to "see" you on this thread. Ikwym about things becoming "part of the landscape" You've inspired me to re-home/ throw out 5 things sitting on the kitchen worktop that shouldn't be there , before I tackle the bedrooms.

I'm back! We had a wonderful time camping with our small group. They feted me on my birthday with song and cake and a card. Saturday, S2 and J organized a mini dance party at the campsite bc they know that I adore dance parties. It was really fun! Everyone joined for some line dances, like the macarena, the cupid shuffle, the electric slide, cotton eye joe. LOL! The weather was awesome. If anything, it was a bit too hot. No rain, lots and lots of sunshine. The kids spent 5 hours at the beach on Saturday.

Thanks for the start, Kitty. Roses - something I don't know a lot about! Nice you got in some gardening.
Hi Cathy! Our kitchen island collects items too, especially since it's near the door.

It feels good to be home and getting back into my routines. It's been a full week away. Today, I will go for a jog, visit my mom, get some groceries, and do laundry.

I'm dressed to jog; the highest chance of rain today is right now - but there's no rain. The forecast high is just 83*F (28.3 C) so cooler.
