Re: Happy Canada Day 2025!!
Dh and I have no plans!
I want to have an easy day. I already know we are having leftover spaghetti and meatballs!
I would love to spend the day cross stitching and reading. Too bad I already have a l!$t and the cats have already shown me once this past week what they (at least one of them) thinks about dirty litter boxes. Right now the dryer is going and I have that load to put away when it buzzes.
Our neighbours have parked their motorcycle trailer in front of our ATV trailer. They are having a combination party at their place this coming Saturday. Her daughter graduated high school this year, so it's partly a grad party. They moved in during Covid, so they didn't have a housewarming party, so it's partly a house warming party. They are having a "huge" tent put up on Friday and they are also renting tables and chairs. Plus, thankfully, they are also having a "portable bathroom" delivered so their septic system won't be overworked with over 50 people expected. The husband has a list of things to do inside and out. Dh and I have offered to help if they need it. We have been invited to the party and they are having a fully roasted pig, so now dh wants to go. That will be our socialization for this coming week.
I haven't heard from my dd so I'm sure they have plans with her SO's family. (What else is new??)

Happy Canada Day!
158th? My math skills may be off early in the morning, but I think that's right.
Cathy, I hope you do get in some cross stitching and reading along with keeping your household on track.
I awakened to a couple emails that will insist upon some attention today, so I'll be sure to pencil that into my PODA.
Recyclables and trash are up and need to be handled well before tomorrow.
The thick bathmat is the laundry of the day.
I've sent HRH an email with info on the last jeans he bought, and I want to light a fire under him to get more of those ordered today.

Watched ddoggo chase a big deer out of the back yard while I was on
the deck doing my QT journaling.
We have walked.
I watered the beds & put water out front for animals.
Hydrating now.
Cheese cake today.
Hemming & mending is OMM.
Waving!
This would have been our Ann.

Happy Canada Day to our Canadians!
Here, it's the first day of dh's retirement. He said he has lunch out planned. I have badly needed body work at 11:30 - I was up in the night with achy hips. Finally got up around five and stretched some, and got back to sleep for awhile. He worked out, went and got his car washed and is piddling about.
We had a big dinner out last night - we were both stuffed. Sat at the bar with A and V and had a great evening. I'm still feeling stuffed, lol.
On the moisturizer/lotion hunt: I have an appointment with dermatologist in August. I'm using Lubriderm advanced therapy lotion (Itchy, extra-dry skin) and it's wearing off too fast, even in the summer heat. It's supposed to moisturize for 48 hours... I was using Amlactin Intensive Healing which has 15% lactic acid and it did a good job, but I think it hindered healing on my shins. When I used something else over the last two winters on the shins, they seemed to heal better. I almost look like I have a rash on the shins right now, plus one of those places that needs to heal. And once my legs are shaved, the shins are bright red and blotchy. I just found some Aveeno hydrocortisone cream - adding that to my shins for a few days too.
Anyway, I've been lollygagging about. I need to get ready to head out.

Re: Happy Canada Day 2025!!
OMGoodness! I'm cleaning/clearing off my desk. Maybe setting the ironing board up to my left was a mistake, but all the books are now on the board. I dusted all three
table lamps as well.
Neighbour next door has been working outside in this heat and he brough more scrap metal over from his yard. Poor guy must be melting. There is very little breeze and it's humid with rain expected along with gusting wind later. I am super glad we aren't going anywhere to see fireworks later.
I'm happy to be inside in the a/c. A friend of mine decided that she was going to make a point of sitting outside every day and enjoy being warm for a while. Dh and I sit out at the patio table almost every day.
I am also working at expunging paperwork. Most of it is very old and nobody will be interested in it when I'm gone.
Dishwasher is going. I also did a small load of laundry.

Re: Happy Canada Day 2025!!
Cathy…Happy Canadian day. Hope you have a fun time.
Twins… I was having a problem with dry skin as well, and someone suggested ponds which has some new formulas out right now and they seem to be a great help. I am also using an I am also using a collagen cream on my face too. Anything that has retinol or something like that in their lotion seems to really aggravate my skin.
My migraine lasted all night long and into the early morning today. I am in recovery mode which means I’m not going to do much today.
Sweetie, and I had a long conversations about the future. I could tell it really helped relieve his mind on things he wanted to make sure I understood. I have taken over paying the bills and we are going to update our trust. I don’t know if I need any more legal papers concerning our future. We have an Appointment with his neurologist next week and I will talk to her about some of the things that are on my mind.
Hope y’all have a good day, I’m in gonna take it easy type mode.

Happy Canada Day!
I have a quarterly periodontal depth tooth cleaning this afternoon. Not my favorite activity but the multiple dental professionals all say that it must be a part of my normal teeth care. Reminding myself that it is one hour of discomfort in the dental office chair and then I can forget about it for 3 months.
While in the city I have a list of stops to make. Imaging center (hip xrays), sams, gas, pharmacy, decluttered items dropped off at thrift store and ??? I need to make an actual list of stops instead of trying to keep them all in my head.
DD14 joined me in the kitchen this morning to get a few dishes cooked. She states that she is scare of almost everything, but she was willing to try and was successful in doing everything this morning. After we finished, she rated her cooking success as 7 out of 10. I rated it 10 out of 10.
DH remembered today was trash day and immediately started taking it to the road first thing this morning. We acknowledged & celebrated his working memory ability.
Happening in the kitchen. Ready to eat food =
Protein - Shakshuka, Canadian bacon, BBQ chicken tenderloins, Wieners, shrimp, turkey sandwich meat, BBQ pork chops, protein shakes, sardines
Dairy - Greek yogurt, lemon yogurt, cheese slices and shredded
Carbs - Mac & cheese, Tortillas, multiple types of bread, biscuits, cereal, potatoes, blackeyed peas
Vegetables = Lettuce, Green beans, Spinach, cauliflower, tomatoes, peppers, roasted cabbage steaks
Fruit - Blueberries, strawberries, raisin, prune, apricots
Nuts - pecan, almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds
SHE card status -
36 completed
33 due today
5 overdue

Good plan to take it easy, RR. I'm glad you and Sweetie are able to talk about these things now. I'll take a look at the Ponds.
It is a good idea to try to acclimate some to the heat, Cathy. I don't have much tolerance for it - read recently that some meds decrease one's tolerance for heat, and I take two of the ones on the list. And WTG on the desk. My genealogy desk always seems to have a stack of paper that need to be scanned, read, followed up, or whatever. I have dusted parts of it recently.
Nancy, I love it that you see deer. We rarely see them, I know you dog was excited! ((Hugs on anniversary))
I'm so very glad Harriet is among us again. Makes me happy to see her blue!
I received some docs for my prescription drug plan today - glad to have it in hand - and we got stuff yesterday for our Medicare supplemental plan. I was able to log into the website for the PDP and print my card. It wasn't included mail but is to come.
Waving to LadyM! Glad you're getting the hip x-ray taken care of!

Re: Happy Canada Day 2025!!
Twins… Call me crazy but I didn’t take it easy. I had mixed a gallon of disinfectant to keep around in case Coco had any accidents which she didn’t.
I decided to take that gallon of solution and put it on sweetie‘s shower floor. His shower is 10 feet long with a 6 foot piece of glass that acts like a shower curtain. I had seen on one of my cleaning sites that if I sprayed the floor with dawn and then put barkeeper on top of it and let it sit for a while, the floor would be easier to clean.
I waited for a couple of hours got, got my broom out and scrubbed it. Surprisingly the floor came out really clean. Then I decided to throw some water on my glass and spray it down with Dawn and some other cleaners. I use my squeegee and Clearwater to clean it, but found some spots that wouldn’t come off. So I got my little daddy scrubber. It has dawn on it and scrubbed it down. Then I rinsed it off with water, use a squeegee and cleaned the wall and it looks great.
Now I’m headed back to bed. I did all of this in my nightgown I might add.
I also have some whipped argon oil that I use on my face. That seems to help as well. I tend to put that on my face during the day when I feel dry.
