Hello, L.Ann and Helian!

I can see you're making the most of your extra time, L.Ann. I think you're very wise to delay seeing your DMum until you're sure you haven't picked up anything unpleasant from Little Bit.

Sorry about the prescription mix up, Helian, that's so frustrating. How nice to be able to be there to support D29 at the conference, and I see you'll be spending time with DS and DDIL as well -when is their baby due?

It's been one of those weeks. Matilda had some sort of seizure Tuesday evening, which meant a mad dash to the emergency vet. ( Fortunately traffic was light, and I made it there in 5 minutes!) She's had a full physical and neurological exam, and a full spectrum blood test. Everything was normal, thank goodness, but we still don't know the reason why. The vet doesn't want to start on anti seizure meds with just one episode, so we just have to wait and see if she has any more.

On the very positive side, it's extremely unlikely she has anything nasty like a brain tumour, but, OTOTH she's exactly in the middle of the age range where cats can develop "ideopathic" epilepsy, where despite comprehensive testing, there's no cause identified, but that's still relatively rare. But, it was also very hot Tuesday, and although there's always plenty in of water bowls available, there's no guarantee she'll drink it!. And she vomited just before, so there's a chance she was a bit overheated and a bit dehydrated. So Tuesday's episode could have been Just One of Those Things. (I had something similar happen to me as a teenager, but nothing more since then, and that was over 40 years ago. )

If she does have another seizure, then, depending on the circumstances, they may refer her for an MRI, just to make 100% sure there's nothing untoward going on, and think again about medication. But for now, she was given an anti sickness injection, and we were finally sent home. The drive back home was at a much more leisurely pace!

Yesterday was mostly spent keeping an eye on Matilda -she seems perfectly fine now, thank goodness, but, of course, my nerves are shot to pieces! Every time there was an unusual sound I was checking on her. When we reached 24 hours without another seizure that was a big relief. And, this evening we are now 48 hours - so I am beginning to hope there is a reasonable possibility that this is just a one-off event.

Yesterday I sorted out Matilda's bill over the phone with the vet and got the insurance claim started. And I cleaned the kitchen and did something in my garden.

Today we had a nice time at church, and I also hoovered the car and picked up Fred's meds and special food from the vet, and sorted out his insurance claim. Then I went to visit C (DF PL's Mum) and we had a cup of tea and scones together. I've also powerwashed the car and dealt with the Waitrose order and had a little time in my front garden. DH is out this evening, so maybe I can have an early night?

I need to think about parish lunch for this month (scan/ photocopy the menu), send out an email, and have a sign up list for those people who don't do email). There's also some report (I think?) I'm supposed to have written, along with all the other group leaders at church, but I haven't had a chance to look at the email properly yet, as it arrived (I think!) on Tuesday. That is going to have to wait.

Tomorrow I have an appointment with the osteopath in the afternoon,.and while I'm in town I need to buy some chocolates and a card for the wonderful team who worked on Matilda. I would also like to do something in my garden (weather permitting!) and I should WhatsApp DF PL to let her know her DMum.is in very good form(she's in France ATM, which is an hour ahead of us , so I don't want to worry her by contacting her too late on the evening.) DH has the day off, and is going out with friends, so maybe I can take some time just to sit and read a bit?

Things to think about tomorrow:

DH out with his friends
2.40 pm Osteopath
Can I do something in my garden?
Will DH be home for supper?
Try and spend some time sitting a reading something for pleasure (in the garden, perhaps?)
Delicate /wool wash

To be continued...
