Sander's White Rambler is a Wichurana rambling rule rise, growing to about 3.5 metres tall, and introduced in 1912 by Heinrich Friedrich ("Henry Frederick") Conrad Sander (March 4, 1847 Bremen - December 23, 1920 Bruges), a German-born nurseryman, who emigrated to England in 1865. In 1881 he established his own nursery in St. Albans on 16'000 m2 of land.

Sander' s white rambler is a beautiful white rambling rose with small, semi-double rosette pure white flowers up to 5cm across, in cascading clusters. It has a fresh, fruity fragrance and long, trailing growth with plentiful fresh glossy green leaves. Sanders' rambler is late-flowering, starting to flower around Midsummer and usually only flowers once, but it has occasional repeat flowering . It is considered to be one of the best rambling roses and has been awarded an AGM by the RHS.

Good morning, everyone, and happy Saturday!

L.Ann, I hope you managed to enjoy the BBQ despite the very sad and difficult day yesterday.

We have a grey, cool start, and it may or may not rain. DH is (I think!) going out with DBIL for the day (DBIL is "D" ATM, as he will be coming down on the train this morning, and then returning to his own home!)

I need to have a dry weather plan and a wet weather plan for today. If it's dry then I need to feed my potted roses.(There's nothing to stop me doing this if it rains, except I don't really feel like standing outside in the rain!!!) If OTOH it rains, then there's plenty to keep me occupied inside.

kittykatt, thanks for the start. Glad your DBIL has not planned to stay at your home.

Sunny weather. Ds9 is off to a "color race" or color run with his schoolfriend L and their mom, at the athletics (track and field) pratice stadium. MrNG is away until tonight, for a mission as consultant (his own business). I have watered the garden and fed the boys. We don't have much planned for today or tomorrow but the boys need some entertainment. If we stay home they end up fighting and the grownups end up yelling, so it's not ideal.

TADAs
up too early
read, watered garden, had tea
a winter coat in the wash
fed DS9 then DS6
DS9 ready for color race and off the door
winter coat dripping on outdoors drying rack

TODOs
some house cleaning, Zone and more
play SkyJo with DS6
birthday purchases online (DS6 turns 7 next week)
feed the trolls and myself
not sure what, in the afternoon

Still sunny, but with some light clouds. At least the afternoon won't be too hot.
I'm planning to see Harry Potter 2 as family movie, but the Internet seems to think DS6 could be frightened by some stuff. I didn't remember so I had a look at some bits of the movie, showed them to DS6 - he says he doesn't find it too frightenint.
I'm still not sure about it. They enjoyed the first Harry Potter movie, but were not entirely happy by the time they had to go to sleep, the first night.

TADAs
Zone work
some cleaning here and there
got the school stuff out of the school bags for sorting
took pics of school supplies lists for September, so they don't get lost
watched a few parts of Harry Potter 2

TODOs
sort school supplies that can still be of use
play SkyJo with DS6 - or maybe he has forgotten he wanted to play ?
birthday purchases online (DS6 turns 7 next week)
feed the trolls and myself
not sure what, in the afternoon

Good afternoon , FFB! From what I remember of the Harry Potter films, they become increasingly dark as the series progresses. Just checked and here in the UK, the first three are rated PG, so should be suitable for children, whereas the rest are rated 12A, where in the cinema kids under 12 have to be accompanied by an adult. But, if course, all kids are different, and have different fears and anxieties.

Well, it appears DH wrote the wrong date on the calendar, so isn't going out today. It's nice to have him around (and ATM he is making bacon sandwiches for lunch for us) but I'm going to have to revise my plans for the day. When he went out to buy bacon, I tidied up downstairs and ran the hoover round, and did a quick kitchen clean up. It's overcast and humid, but not actually raining, so I'll feed the potted roses this afternoon, and may do a little rearranging in the garden border. It's not really the right time of year, but I would like to get things in the right place.

We saw Harry Potter 3 and 4 on the large screen at the movie theater in February, FFB. It was a wonderful rewatch but I had forgotten how dark the actually filming was and they did have some definitely frightening parts. Morning kittykatt. The bbq was a nice quiet family event. They set off fireworks at dark. The most fun thing was watching Little Bit who squealed in delight after each one went off and then yelled do another one as soon as it was done.

1-meds, temp, and shower for DD32
2-refill med containers
3-dress and pick up bedroom

4-walk
5-box item for return

Menus
Friday-bbq with family
Saturday-seared chicken and apple spinach salad

Events
Saturday-funeral home@12, drop off package to UPS, pharmacy??

Weekly House Blessing-
Detailed cleaning
Extra Stuff- work on last Shutterfly book
Little Errands-buy tickets for summer stock musical, vacuum and wash car after cleaning out the trunk

Accomplishments
-stretching and knee exercises
-breakfast for dog and me

Glad you could have those conversations with the NH staff, L Ann. That's convenient about the furniture. We bought a hospital bed and chest of drawers for Mom's room, and I don't know what we'll do with them when she's done with them. Seeing the fireworks with Little Bit sounds heartwarming!
Enjoy time with dh at home, Kitty. It's not too warm to work in your garden today?
FFB, others have given good input re: HP films. I don't remember; I've read the books a couple times and seen the films each once - but I've lost track of what happens in each middle book. The events of the first and last books are pretty clear in my brain. He he -- "feed the trolls and myself." :D

I'm up late. I slept horribly last night; I got myself tied in knots bc "friend" D from Israel messaged me last night asking if we were in town on Monday. She's sometimes in the States and sometimes wants to meet with us/ me. We weren't close friends in Israel; we just gave her a ride to a weekly Bible study. I don't know how to describe her, except she had some strange views back then and was pretty self-focused. She also held strong political views that were very different from ours, but I don't think she realized that. In this new climate, that doesn't always feel "safe". She just feels slightly socially "off" to dh and me. I sense she thinks we have a stronger friendship than I think we have. Dh said I shouldn't meet with her by myself, at least not for an initial social get together, but he's too busy on Monday to add another meeting to his schedule. She doesn't ask about how we're doing in her communications, and she didn't give us much of a heads up regarding meeting with her, which makes me feel less valued as well. . . I fretted over this during the night; is telling her we're too busy (dh is but I'm technically not) an ethical thing to do?? Ack!! I did it this morning anyway.

I did not make it to the 5K at 8 am, which is too bad because friend J made it! So, S2, K, and J were all there, I believe. I missed them. And now I'm going to go run a 5K in warmer temps. It is already 83*F. I didn't know it was that hot already. SO, not an auspicious start to my morning.

HOWEVER, I'm going to make the best of this day! It's another gorgeous warm summer day!
