Re: Trying Thursday PWYC
My morning is going smoothly. I want to cherish these simple, everyday moments and fully embrace them.
Although nothing is perfect. I just had a intense conversation with DS16 about spitting in the kitchen trash can. Gross! His 16 year old mind doesn't see anything wrong with it. We agreed to compromise by using a paper towel.....although I'm not entirely thrilled with that either.
What's happening in your home today?

Re: Trying Thursday PWYC
Happy National Capybara Day. I just got a lot of credit from grands, btw, for knowing this (it's new today, for its first year, although there has already been a world one). What can I say? I am the cool, yet eccentric, Grandma. Anyway, wildly popular animal with kids these days.
Just an awful time at appt this morning. I was not checked in properly by reception. I'd given all the info, cards and signatures asked for, but somehow the message was never sent from reception to the techs that I had arrived. HRH is a terrible person to be in a waiting room accompanying, when he even gets the idea you're being overlooked. And then, of all things, I actually WAS overlooked. Ohmigoodness. I went up to reception and asked and was assured that everything was fine. But then one of the receptionists scurried out of the room. I had been counted a "no show" and all they could do (?) was to put me at the end of the line of those already checked in. So, we waited until we were the last people in the huge waiting room even though everyone else was moving through efficiently. Sigh. HRH was vocal about it.
So, sitting here now with my apple, first bite of the day at 11:20. A piece of fruit as my first bite each day is a TRIED AND TRUE HABIT for me (just earlier in the morning!) For one thing, it generally helps me get in a good and healthy number of fruit and veg each day. For another, fruit is very easily digested when it's on an empty tummy.
I agree about nipping that habit in the bud, LadyM. It wouldn't serve him well at workplace or in social settings, so it's better to get out of the habit.

Terrific Thursday
I slept well till after six! had several cups of coffee in the afternoon and it did not bother me
I like weak coffee! !=D Walked ddoggo. Saw a turkey on my street!
I'm having a Terrific Thurs. got some bright colored striped petunias.
Next I headed to the store and did groc. shopping. <-My one thing today.
Got the rig unloaded and 99% of it put away.
School supplies are in stock yea!
Found some fun comp. note books, & a green sprial one for the budget next year.
Watering the back now.
Had bfast.
Journaling & planning still to do.
I am soaking plants & soil to get the spot dug where they will go.
-----
Had lunch
fetched mail
Did a bit in the old sewing room 15 for the win!
Sorting and moving fabric to a landing area I need a spot for it to have a home.
Found a project I"m going to focus on this month also.
Brought up one piece and a cutter quilt.

Re: Trying Thursday PWYC
Hi!
My current dh is a spitter. Out of truck window, Over the patio onto the grass, into any and all garbage cans, into paper towels and tissues. Lots of noise usually goes along with this. Disgusting habit, but hard to train out of a 55 year old man (who is now 65). My x was almost the same, but the noise was more like he was announcing what he was doing to the entire world around us. He didn't care about the volume. At least he always used a tissue. His added nose blowing constantly was enough to turn my stomach on a constant basis. Thankfully current dh doesn't consider his nose to be an instrument.
I did more grown up things this morning. I dealt with yet another request for paperwork regarding dh's pension. I called the person back who called us yesterday to tell her it had been dealt with on our end.
Dh took a load of metal to the scrap metal place and then he went to the landfill. Both things without me. (Yay!!)
It was windless this morning, so I burned all the paper and cardboard recycling.

Re: Trying Thursday PWYC
I mowed with the intention of stopping when the bagger got full and keep my mowing in the shaded areas. I had to stop with the bagger only about 1/2 way full because of the heat. It is only 97 now (on its way to 103 later) but the lack of wind makes it feel OH SO HOT. The house temp is at 78F which makes me get chill bumps when I walk inside.

Re: Trying Thursday PWYC
dd wants to buy a house and is getting way too overwhelmed with the mom/dh stuff - she can't let go of it - I don't mind doing it. I have before but her fear that my brother will put mom in that home again is great. dd wanted to take money out of her trust account (her money) but my brother said no. He thinks she should stay here- It's her money but he can say no. part of her inheritance
I haven't worked outside yet but I did have the cleaning ladies here today (I will have them weekly for July). the landscape guys are here - they cut the grass - right now I need both services.
Mom, the helper and I sat in the shade and chatted for over an hour; it was very good for mom!
dogs have been played with - a lot! happy dogs and now wet dogs from their pool.
I have pt coming at 3:00 ish.
mom is laying down watching a show. She has been awake all day.
waiting for the landscape people to go so that I can go outside.
