I'm here for the Conga line! Where do we start? I hear the music but can't find the line!

Missing you, friends, and glad to be back!

I'm here. I'll join the line while at work. Lots to do there. And here as well.

Gonna do a few routine things and eat something before I go.

Morning…

Can’t believe it’s only a little after 10. I got up and started doing things around the house and have just sat down for a minute. Changed the bed, put the sheets in the laundry, one to go in after it , filled up my vitamin containers and organized a few of my kitchen, drawers and cabinets, made the rice ready for my rice cooker.

I also picked up some footprints that were trying to hide on me. I wash my rice before I cook it. A friend of mine’s husband is from Indonesia and she taught me to do it. I’m always amazed at how dirty rice is when I wash it.

I have Wimbledon on and I’ve been listening to it as I
dart around the house doing things that need to be done. After I finish what I’m doing I’ll hop on my gazelle and watch it from there.

Twins… glad you’re home. Let us know how your husband is doing.

Thinking of blessed and hope she’s having a better day.

Ding ding, my laundry needs to be flipped. BBL

Blessed.. it’s good to set up boundries.

When my mom was alive, she often talked negatively about my sister-in-law. This is a girl that took great care of my mom and for some reason my mom just couldn’t let you go of things.

Got so bad that when I talked to her on the phone and she started to bring up my sister-in-law, I told her I don’t wanna hear about it and I’m not going to talk to you about it and changed the conversation

I never shared any of this with my brother because he adores his wife and that would really make him unhappy. I didn’t want to contribute to that either.

I'm coming back through. I slept way too late. I don't know why I'm complaining, perhaps I needed it. The ddog certainly wasn't complaining either.

Dh home today - went out earlier for his Rotary club meeting. I've walked the ddog, sorted and started laundry, and started some a.m. routine type things. Started a list for today and next week also. I'm busy, dh is playing on phone. He sees me doing the same on my laptop here, lol, but I'm working too!

The sting ray injury was Tuesday afternoon, perhaps 4:30, while the lifeguard was still on the beach. Dh's foot was bleeding like crazy and hurting big time. Lifeguard cleaned it, put a hot pack on it, and bound it up and we walked back up while our friends packed up the chairs, tent, etc. in the beach cart. I changed clothes very quickly while he stayed downstairs by the garage, I grabbed my purse with car keys - that was the essential thing - and got him in the car and headed to urgent care. Grande Ocean employee had brought out a wheelchair in case he needed it, but he could walk. At urgent care they took him back almost immediately while I did paperwork, and they cleaned and put his foot in a tub of very very hot water to soak. In fact, they had a very large church type coffee maker with very hot water ready to go - said they sometimes they see 7 or 8 sting ray "bites" daily. Anyway, the very hot water takes the venom out or neutralizes it - like the hot pack did - and in 30 min or so it didn't hurt as badly. They cleaned it, checked to see if the stinger was imbedded - it wasn't - bandaged him up, gave him a script for an antibiotic and we were on the way. Probably over an hour but not bad at all. We filled the script on the way back to the condo. He's been okay - stayed out of the sun by going shopping on Wednesday and showing friends around the island, and we came home yesterday.

We got two full long days of sun on the beach - me under the tent with sunscreen - and him mostly in the sun. Friends were in shade with me mostly.

So it was a good trip - short for the travel time to get there. We enjoyed being with these friends but I was a little talked out by Wednesday, when I stayed in and read and they all went out. That was good for me.

We were in here around 5:30 yesterday. Today is putting away, laundry, getting back to routines etc. I still haven't CUOP - will try to do later.

Dh was worried about foot last night because it's swollen. I told him to call the doc in the a.m. (we have the concierge doc so I know he can be seen if he needs to be). He soaked it in more very hot water, even tho instructions from urgent care didn't recommend doing it after the first 24 hours. The swelling is down this a.m. and he decided not to call the doc. We had words about him soaking it and expecting me to help when I didn't think it was the right thing to do. I did remind him that swelling is usually worse in evening.

Good morning!

My day has started and progressed smoothly. It is hair washing & leg shaving day, so extra time was spent on AM personal care. I decided to curl my hair using electric curlers which took a little more time than normal.

No surprise - DD49 text last night asking to return DD14 today. We will pick DD14 up in about an hour and take her for Spirometry lung function test in an effort to diagnose asthma type symptoms. I have a few other errands to do while in the city.

I spent about an hour in the kitchen this morning prepping food for myself and family.

DS16 GF mom gets married (again) this evening. They have 7 kids in this new blended family ranging from 16 to 5 years old. The fella kids are mean & abusive (verbal & physical) to GF & her siblings. We have known the fella for decades and can't see anyway this is going to turn out well. This is his 4th marriage with the other 3 ending because of abuse (physical and alcohol/drugs). He has been abusive to GF and the mom lets it happen. That is the main reason GF is here the majority of the time. I don't want GF to seek a relationship with DS16 just to get away from abusive situation. DS16 talks about the situation with me frequently. There doesn't seem to be a "right thing" to do. I do talk with him quite a bit about not getting physical with the fella to retaliate for his abuse. Staying away from the fella as much as possible seems to be about the only thing to do. They will be forced together this evening for the marriage ceremony and gathering. I am encouraging DS16 to keep low profile while keeping his distance.
uck.

Wow, what a horrible situation for the GF, LadyM. You are providing a needed sanctuary for her. I hope this doesn't encourage she and DS16 to marry, however.

I came upstairs for the postponed Zoom with mentee - she's working hard but is open to extending. The three elements of her portfolio are due om 1 August.

My mind is all over today to the point I haven't made a grocery list for him. He seems to be in a mood so I'm ignoring him.

Back downstairs, need to reboot laundry and finish grocery list. I took out chicken for our supper.
