Re: Super Saturday -- Sanity Saturday?
Sanity Saturday sounds good to me, lol! I was busy busy busy yesterday feeling like I got things back together somewhat. Of course, I did make a mega list as I was working too. I'd like perhaps stamping or genealogy time upstairs. I know dh is trying to stay off his feet because he's worried about the swelling but he sat in his chair a lot playing on his phone yesterday and wasn't in a great mood from my perspective. He can't go to the pool because he's taking the antibiotic that makes him sensitive to sunburn so that will limit him for awhile. I hope he'll decide to sunscreen up and play golf or go to driving range at some point, tho. For his socialization might have to invite immediate next door neighbors over for the evening?
Today is going to be blistering hot here - 93 degrees and humid. Dog is walked already, while there is some nice shade on the other side of the circle.
Lucylee, so nice of you to start us out and we're always so glad to "see" you! And nice to see everyone here so early too! Can't believe we rolled over to second page!

Re: Super Saturday -- Sanity Saturday?
LucyLee - Thank you for the start today. You have an extremely busy schedule helping while your DS is traveling. Your family is blessed by having you available and so capable.
I woke up to find all of DH medication for today is gone. He doesn't remember taking it. This is the second time this has happened this month. We discussed it and made the decision that I would move the medication to a place DH won't know where it is. I will put his daily medication out each morning for him. With this change, the worst that will happen will be that he takes the PM meds too early.
DH is now searching for his gloves. He had them yesterday but can't remember where he put them. This type of forgetting is normal and happens to everyone.
No, not in my immediate area. There are a few places within 20 miles or so that will flood but those are well documented, and contingencies plans in place and well-practiced. I have a little more knowledge than some of the flood danger in this area. During my GIS career, we had a major project to map the potential flood zones for this area. It included what would happen downstream if this or that dam broke along with heavy rains. No expense was spared to make sure we had good flood zone data with many possible disaster response scenarios. Are flash floods a thing to fear in your area like what happened in Texas?

Re: Super Saturday -- Sanity Saturday?
Morning y’all
Licylee.. thxs for staring us off this morning!
Like most of you all it’s blistering heat here today plus the humidity. The temperature is a straight 95. Perhaps we’ll have showers in the afternoon. We’ll see.
I have errands to run this afternoon, want to target to return some curtain rings I bought, but didn’t work and another to go to Kohl’s to return some drapes I ordered from Amazon.
I get to go to the beach again tomorrow with my friends. But this time I’m gonna cover myself up with bug spray instead of sunscreen because the sand fleas made a dinner out of me. We set up a shade tent so I can sit in the shade and not have to worry about the sun.

106 F here right now. Plus humidex.
We are at "sea level" with Lake Ontario. There were some houses that got flooded here a couple of months ago and most of them were on the same street. No loss of life due to that particular flood.
Dh and I just went outside because he wanted my car in the garage because there is a "huge storm coming tonight". Then he wanted to water the fruits and veggies. I got 6 raspberries and 3 strawberries. We also got a handful of beans.

Re: Super Saturday -- Sanity Saturday?
It has not been a super or especially sane Saturday at all for me...
Apparently, the only way I can keep my dmom healthy is to shower at night and get up and at 'em bright and early each day.
Today, I was NOT prepared ... woke up around noon... felt a little bit of vertigo, and ate breakfast while sitting in bed.
At 1:00 pm, the doorbell rang... but I couldn't use my Ring camera because the internet is out. Sigh...
I looked out the window and recognized dmom's car... so I grab my blue jeans and headed to the door.
Dmom had been to the urgent care, but decided not to stay because she knew her tremor was too bad to fill out all the papers that would be necessary -- she needed me to fill out the paperwork because this was the first time she had used the new urgent care in town.
So -- I took a shower, no make-up, went to the urgent care with her. She already knew she had a UTI -- she had used the AZO test strips. So the NP gave her an antibiotic and medication for a yeast infection "just in case," and had dmom take a sample cup for urinary specimen. Unfortunately, their bathrooms were out of order, so dmom had to do this at home and return the specimen. We decided to go back to my house and luckily, she was able to produce a specimen quickly. She went home and I returned it, went to Wmart (next door) for her prescriptions, and took them to her house.
I actually got to her house before she did! She stopped at the new Dollar General for their Grand Opening sale.
After I left her, I went back to Wmart, and got myself a pizza at D*mino's, and came back home. By that time, I was having a low blood sugar attack, and I was glad to get home. Still having a little bit of dizziness/lightheadedness. I don't know what caused that unless it was the very poor diet from last night, which may have also contributed to the low blood sugar.
I have not colored my hair yet, and I hate to do it at night because I know it will stain my pillowcases. But I better do that. I won't have time before church in the morning and once DGD gets back for Monday morning, who knows how my day will go?
Blessed, will your mom have trouble sleeping tonight after such a long nap?
It is good to hear you're on high ground, Nancy!
You are having some extreme heat, Cathy. mmmm... fresh raspberries and strawberries...
It rained on me for just a little while on the way home from dmom's and then it stopped. I was so glad I didn't have to load/unload groceries in the rain!
Oh, (((Rose))) -- I bet those sand flea bites are terrible! I don't think I've ever had that, but just mosquitos will drive me crazy when I'm out in the evenings.
LadyM, IKWYM about searching for gloves, etc. Seems like all I do is hunt for my reading glasses.
Twins, I hope your dh feels well enough to play golf or do something to get him out of the house (for your sanity!)
Waving to ALL!!! Hope you all have a good night!

Re: Super Saturday -- Sanity Saturday?
Laundry is finished through to put-away. Kitchen has been kept up. Planner and habit tracker up to date.
I tried taking a nap today, but the smoke detector went off when HRH made his lunch. Sigh. Then he was using the Nutri Bullet and it made a terrible sound like it was broken. I don't know - maybe he put big ice cubes into it or maybe something more permanent happened, will have to wait and see. He said, "I'm not trying to break your stuff, really."
Tomato sandwiches have happened for me for two straight days. I must admit, the tomatoes have not been the best but not the worst either. The taste is getting there but so far, we haven't had those wonderful July-textured tomatoes.
Reading has been pleasant.
My knee/leg is doing better today after giving me a scare. I danced to Gloria Estefan Thursday evening for exercise and got too energetically swishy-swishy, perhaps, aggravating the injury from when I fell in the driveway last year. (maybe ?) Taking a stair Friday, I felt it, then felt it again yesterday when there were so many steps because of all the appts. No aching today, though. The dr suggested ankle weight for correct form knee exercise, in case it was tendons. She said sometimes if we can't completely heal the damaged or complaining ones, we can still strengthen the others (and other muscles) all around the thigh/knee insertions and regain confidence.
