Starting Monday pretty well -- I s2bed last night so all I had to do was get dressed when DGD woke me up, around 9:30 a.m.
She ate breakfast -- a blueberry pancake/sausage "corn dog" AND she pronounced my syrup "better than Paw Paw's." Paw Paw (her other granddaddy) is a good cook, so I was glad to be compared favorably to him, LOL!

While I was getting dressed, etc, ddil called and said a friend from church was going to the pool and wanted DGD to go with her and her two dgds.
I dropped her off with them and went to town, got two Rxs filled and did my wellness check up at the drug store. I am sooo glad the drug store can do this! No appointment needed, no co-pay, etc. Plus instant results. My cholesterol was a bit high, 245, but the "good" cholesterol was 79, which she said was good. "Bad" cholesterol was 137, so I'm going to have to add in a little more salads and grilled foods, I guess. She just told me to watch out for fried foods and red meat. My BP was 148/83, probably a little high because I get a little nervous at the idea of finger sticks, plus that cuff tightens up so much it hurts! Fasting blood sugar was 98, so I was glad to see that.
Anyway, I am so glad to have that done. Saves me $50 per month on my insurance.

I also stopped at the post office, and when I got home, I started the laundry, PUPA around the house, and had my "breakfast" -- banana, pb crackers, and later, 2 slices of pizza and two cookies. (That won't help the cholesterol any. )

DDIL just called and said friend was taking DGD home with her to play with her girls, so I'll be childless until at least 4:30 or so -- DGS went to work with ddil after his appointment.

I am waiting for the internet people to call -- said they would be here between 12 and 4... smh... I am VERY thankful for my cell phone and hot spot.

I will clean bathrooms while waiting for the man to call.
Tomorrow is another day.

Sometimes I feel that almost everything I do is methodical. I clean as I cook - with cooking an omelet just now I cleaned up utinsils I as went. All clean when I sat down to eat. DD used to take things out to cook/eat, then sit down and eat very slowly. She always wanted to put things away after she ate (or forget to put them away, of course.)

Once the cleaning people are done I'll head out for some errands...
-post office for HOA
-dry cleaners
-wash car
-drop off some expired medications
-Lowes for orchid potting mix and twine for tomato propping up

I suggested dh and I eat out this p.m.

Yard people are here, I need to talk to them, dh says they don't like him because he's made such a fuss about the yard, so I can't even delegate that to him, lol! I told him to go make nice to them. (I took out bottles of ice water to them, too.)

Whoops, left this sitting here when I went out. More to come.

Methodical... y'all know I love a list and checklist. I also put reminders on my phone and sometimes set alarms for things that I need to do at a certain time -- pick up dgrands from school or something like that. I use my cards also. Well, I HAVE cards, and I LOOK at them... but whether I actually USE them to do the work... that is debatable. They ARE very useful in reminding me when I need to do something/when I last did something. I think I will put a REWARD on my cards -- like the bathroom card, I could put 30 minutes reading after bathrooms are in order. Vacuuming 30 minutes, watch tv 30 minutes. This thought JUST occurred to me. I think I will try that.

Blessed, I am praying things will go better with your dmom today/tonight. I can't even imagine how stressful this is for all of you!
I love that movie, BTW, My Big Fat Greek Wedding.

Y'all -- I watched The Sandlot last night for the first time. I can't believe I haven't seen it before but DGD watched it with me and I thought it was so good! I kinda teared up at the end. (It doesn't take much for me anymore.)
I need better evening routine. Than eating at 8 and crashing on the couch. And somehow better detail cleaning.
Lauralind, I am right there with you!
I am praying for your family also. Being a caregiver is mentally and physically exhausting.

Cathy, it certainly seems like you would be melting! It's too hot here, too, and I don't know how those ladies managed to stay outside, even at a pool, for two or three hours. I can't take it. I just walked to the road to get the garbage can, and that was enough for me!

That was so sweet of HRH, to let you sleep, Harriet. I know you need a lot of rest to regain your strength and recuperate from all you've been dealing with.

I need to do a lot of paperwork and paper decluttering too, Twins. WTG on getting two birds with one stone -- the things out of the garage, and the paperwork!;

Good for you, too, Nancy -- getting stuff out of the way before the heat of the day.

DS called -- they were on their way home, stopped to see the Grand Canyon. He didn't want to make this long trip, but I'm glad he's seen a lot of things he wouldn't have otherwise. He was not with dh and me when we went to the Grand Canyon. I've been to the Pacific Ocean, but I've never seen the redwoods.

OH! The internet man just called; he is on his way! Hooray!
Tomorrow is another day.

Got errands done, 5 stops. I should go to the temple to pick up cemetery papers but I don't want to today. I'll do that after I workout tomorrow perhaps.

Dh is on the way home from Costco, sounds like he purchased way too much wine for his retirement party. Says he's bringing me home 1/2 a slice of pizza and I can't wait. It's not something I usually eat.

The house next to us will close next Monday - since I'm the treasurer of the HOA I get to find out names, etc. early! I'm providing a document that indicates whether HOA dues are unpaid and what the cycle is, so they can be prorated on the closing statement. So that's done.

Hooray for the internet guy, Lucylee!

LucyL. glad the inner man is on the way.

I have gotten the three items off the deck that were a tad bit damp from the dryer,
two itmes blew off, so I picked em up and got the other yep they are dry now.

Listened to a writing class vid. Got some goals on the page
and a couple of new page designs to use. Not sure I"ll be able to get
h.p. this year as they have been discontinuing the disc. bound ones.
Glad I've used other types of systems.

Winds are kicking up.
One more load to fetch out of the dryer.
Got my steps in for the day.

Watched a show last nite and could write about one segment on difficult parents,
it was helpful hearing the people in that Grandchester eposoide talks
about that. I like one other that comes on the weekend that makes me laugh ~
At time goes by I think is the title a couple get back to get her after many years.

Then the new one Crossing the Alantic has been great about the
queen or princess of Norway during the war years.

So I luv the sun/nite tv time.

Lifelong DFriend stopped by for a visit and stayed for 4 hours. I dearly love that fella but I was past ready for him to leave. Listening to him talk almost nonstop drained my energy level. It was too much of a good thing.
He just called saying he was coming back to bring us a watermelon. No thank you.

Oh my.

DS16 has 6 friends that are here at the house frequently. Four of those friends are 2 couples. One of the couples is 6 months into a surprise pregnancy. Tonight, the other couple told us they are expecting a baby too.

I was married at 17 and had children when I was a teenager, but I don't recommend it.
I so hope DS16 and GF don't follow that path.
