Falafel is a deep-fried ball or patty-shaped fritter of Egyptian origin that features in Middle Eastern cuisine, particularly Levantine cuisines. It is made from ground fava beans, chickpeas, or both, and mixed with herbs and spices before frying.

L.Ann, I hope the Hopkins trip goes smoothly today.

I'm having a slightly slower start and enjoying the quiet house. DH is back this evening, so I really do need to be productive before then. ATM it's cool and grey outside but dry, which suggests it will probably get hot and humid again. Therefore, I think my priority is to get out in my garden early, while it's sill cool, and do indoor jobs later. Top of that list will be to get those 4 boxes wrapped and down to the garage. If I can get more boxes listed and wrapped that will be a bonus. And I need to do laundry, and fold and PA the load I washed yesterday. I think DH will probably be back around 7pm, so I need to keep that in mind.

I have always been a night owl, trissie, but I think that I might try to keep more to regular hours, as I will be job hunting for part time work in the fall.
How cool to have castles nearby to visit!

Trissie, you have a very nice trip planned or the afternoon . I'm sure the kids will enjoy whichever castle you decide in. I grew up near Corfe Castle (basically a ruin, but with a fascinating history, part of which used to be kept from small kids!) and can remember having a picnic on some of the fallen stones. You probably can't do that any more!

Dogged, enjoy these first few days of your retirement, while you think about what you want to do next.

I got rained on when I was in the garden, despite the forecast insisting otherwise. But I managed to get most things done - I'll leave feeding the pots until the evening or tomorrow. I'm indoors now, waiting for a parcel to be delivered, with Freddie on my lap. When he eventually gets off, I'll do something in the front garden.
