Home from hospital. DS16 added a few more first-time experiences to his life skills. He has a pilonidal cyst. The urgent care doc thought DS16 might need surgery, so he sent us to ER. After xrays and examination the ER doc said DS16 should heal okay with just antibodies. DS16 got a shot in the hip and pills to take 4 times a day.
During the hour drive home, I had to pull off the highway twice because of getting calls about DD14 appointments. She now has an appointment in the big city for autism testing and the appointment with her counselor moved to an earlier date.
I am laughing at myself for thinking that those 2 hours of being alone this morning would lead to a quiet day.....
DH stayed by himself for 5 hours with no problems. Acknowledging and celebrating the wins!

((((RR))))) I have been wondering how you are doing. I hope you feel better soon.
I am feeling a bit traumatized from spending 5 hours with DS16 & friends snapchatting constantly. OH MY....it is nonstop back and forth. I have laughed so much at their nonsense that my stomach muscles hurt. They are a great group of teens but the DRAMA is over the top. Everything is intense. DRAMA = taking the simplest thing and then instantly creating videos to amplify the events and sharing them back and forth.

Re: Well-Spent Wednesday PWYC
LadyM, I'm right there with you. I'm feeling overstimulated today from dh's constant presence and talking. I've been trying to do things and he's been interrupting and needing me to go a different direction. We spent awhile trying to get the multicolor glass hanging back up in our bathroom window and he struck out. I think I need to just "leave it" for a few days and circle back. I want it back up like it was!
I'm freezing inside now because I was so sweaty earlier. I finished clean up out on the patio at least. I've washed our bath towels, then washed a load to hang up, and now a load of cleaning rags and some beach towels that I used in cleaning/drying the patio. I'll need to do another load of those too, didn't want to put too many wet beach towels in the washer at one time. I also got the comforter back on our bed.
I should shower but I feel like a slug. Dcleaning lady is coming tomorrow but not until midday. I also have my workout tomorrow. Dh is asking me to make a challah for new neighbors - I decided I could start it on a timer to be done in the bread maker when I get home from my workout tomorrow.
RR, I hope you get some improvement soon! That's a long time to be sick!

Re: Well-Spent Wednesday PWYC
I've had lunch & napped.
Washing sheets will wait for another day I think.
Got my recipe ready for the pinch of soda for tomorrow.
I did knit a few rows current prayer shawl is at the half way point so really no rush on it.
Had my dinner.
Caught up on a planner of July stuff.
Did some in my come q's notebook mostly just what's happened this week.
Quite a bit and it's just Wed.

I've taken out the trash and picked up the gift card, which was delivered within hours.
Next up, a load of laundry, darks to include the new socks and have them all washed before they are to be worn. I don't want to be wearing dark items that might have dyes in them.

Re: Well-Spent Wednesday PWYC
Checking in-- whew -- I thought I had a busy day before I read about y'all!
LadyM -- I hope ds heals quickly and has no problems. So glad to hear LordM had an uneventful day!
Harriet, IKWYM -- I've had those dark clothes leave black/blue stain on my legs before! Some new jeans are the worst! I am so glad to hear your doctor's "very good" words! That's so neat that you dreamed the phone call ahead of time!
Nancy, washing sheets here is going to wait for another day, that's for sure.
Twins, I also KWYM about the constant distractions. Yep... dgrands are certainly keeping me occupied. SMH... A man isn't much different from a child sometimes, is he?
(((Hugs))) Rose! I hope you feel better SOON! This has gone on long enough!
Cathy, that's good that your niece got those brakes taken care of! Like Harriet, I had a moment when brakes failed me (fortunately, in an almost empty church parking lot) and it was a startling feeling!
Today was well-spent in many ways --
* vacuumed most of the main living area (kitchen/dining room/den)
* cleaned the guest bath
* washed towels and underwear (that load is still on top of the dryer at the moment)
* dgrands' clothes in the washer
* went to Wmart and got cake for ddil's bday supper
* had supper for ddil (they picked up KFC), had a nice time with dmom, dbil, dsisil, and dnephew, who surprised us by being in town
* PUPA after supper
* bathed DGD, who at age 9, still sometimes wants to be a little princess and have Nana give her a bath and wash her hair
* vacuumed bedroom, which was in the plan already, but more so after dgrands had an accident with a neck pillow filled with buckwheat (?) and frantically did a quick clean up without my knowledge. LOL. The vacuum was already in the bedroom. I was not upset about the pillow. It belonged to dmil, so was at least 11 years old, and I don't know how long she had it before she passed away. I never used it and I don't really know why it found its way to our house after her death.
Some things that were not well-spent...
I just sent a text message to the entire finance committee at church, at 10:42 pm, when most of them probably do not want to receive messages, telling them I did not have dgd's volleyball uniform and stuff for tomorrow.
This message was of course supposed to go to DS only, but since he is a member of the finance committee and his name was the first that showed up in the group text... SMH... at least I wasn't complaining about the preacher. I just looked to see if DS had answered, and the first thing I saw was the preacher's reply: "Don't think this is for the finance committee." LOL...
Also should have done a little more cleaning -- everything needs dusting, need to finish vacuuming, fold towels/etc.
I've got to get back into my exercise routine.
As I've said before, I think dgrands will go back to school two weeks from tomorrow. Maybe I can get my act back together then.
