Had my lunch.
Not so very productive today.
But I did hand wash three items and they are hanging to dry on the deck in the sun.
Put the frozen bread dough in the freezer downstairs.
Dishes are in the dish pan waiting my attn. after dinner.
I need a plan for that.

Melting update... I haven't actually melted yet, but I've been inside with fans and air conditioner since before 1 p.m. I also haven't blown away yet.

We are leaving soon to get something for supper. DH's choice.

Waving madly back at bw2!

I am just tired today. Dh is asleep in his chair, and I'm going to take a little nap myself after I finish this snack.

Cathy - How long will your temperatures stay that high? Is it a couple of days and then cool off?

We are bored being indoors. I just checked and the feels like temp is 106. So, we continue to force ourselves to stay inside. There is nothing that we HAVE to do outside, it is just what we WANT to do.

I’ve added another room to the 2025 declutter and deep clean effort. There are still more items to declutter, but it’s a process. I’ve gone through every single item in the room as I worked. Once each area is finished, I add a weekly SHE card to help maintain it. It’s so quick to keep up with areas that are already cleaned and decluttered. Every time I revisit a previously decluttered area, I always manage to find more items to send out the door.

Good evening! Lost a long post yesterday: TL;DR: Did laundry in the AM for dress to wear to see financial guy in the afternoon. Got everything set up to roll pension distribution and existing IRA into a new IRA with them. Much easier than expected. Later, a grocery run, but without the produce and meat DH will pick up tonight.

Looked in on payroll today, but didn’t really have anything to do. Spent a good while waiting on the phone with the water department, which keeps taking payments out of an old account we’d like to close. Finally got through to someone who told me I’d have to do that online. So set up an account on their website, only to now have it take me back to the login screen every time I attempt to log in.

Today’s mail has not brought my marriage certificate, which I will need to claim that pension distribution. It’s been a week at least since I sent for it, and still nothing. I do not want to have to go down to the county courthouse to get it, when I have a very hard time standing in line.

DH is picking up pizza for dinner, since I’m out of at least one thing for every meal plan I have.

Harriet reminds me that I need to get a chimney sweep. I meant to last year and didn’t, so I just put a moratorium on fires, even for Christmas. Here in the city/suburbs, there seems to be adequate older housing stock to support a few chimney sweeps. Some of them here say that they will come out to outlying counties, so maybe checking your nearest city would be of use?

LadyM so far I haven't been paying too much attention as it seems that we have been having one heat wave after another for the past 3 or 4 weeks. This summer has been the hottest I can remember. I have had to remind dh to keep windows closed and blinds closed to try to keep the heat out. I had to shut 3 windows this morning. We are supposed to have a cooler day tomorrow and there is a massive storm spread across northern Ontario right now. Therefore, I'm not looking too far ahead.

Corn and cherries and peaches and apricots have all hit the farm stands. Our tomatoes are far too small. I still haven't enjoyed my first tomato sandwich although dh has eaten 3 golf ball sized tomatoes that are supposed to be the size of hardballs or a bit larger.

Later... I watched the extended weather forecast and the heat will be around until next Wednesday.

Thanks for the directions to think of for finding a chimney sweep. We just had an inspector we had to deal with because of HVAC, and we do know a realtor, in fact a couple. Maybe city would be a place to start - we usually don't think of that direction, assuming costs are lower in towns.

Tomatoes - ddolder brought us her first two tomatoes from her few tomato plants. I fussed at her for bringing the first ones, but she says boys have been enjoying the little "million" or "hundred" varieties already, so I guess that's okay, then. They look great - maybe like the old Better Boys, not too large but obviously slicers.

We allowed our day to go a little later today because I've got all afternoon appts tomorrow, and in a perfect world I wouldn't eat before the bloodwork. In fact, we expect the day to run quite late since we'll be coming home at rush hour on a Friday. Oh, well.

We enjoyed watching a Father Brown mystery this evening.

Mystery, my experience with waiting for copies of licenses and certificates has been that they are notorious for taking a long time to arrive. I hope you don't have to wait much longer.

HELLO, BLESSED!

Ramblin', are you feeling any better? Able to get up and about more?

LadyM, how is ds16 feeling? Any more pain?

The gift card mounted in the greeting card very neatly, happy with that.
