Thanks heavens for a quiet day yesterday! I feel much more together.

I have body work, i.e. myofascial massage, at 10 this a.m. so need to get in the dog's walk, a shower and enough sustenance for me. Dh is working out and is going to Costco with A - they are to buy a mount for the TV that dh brought home from the office, and try to mount the TV in a sheltered corner of the screened porch. I'm not sure how I feel about a TV out there, but if dh will watch tv some there inside of inside, it will be welcome. He'll have to keep the sound low so it doesn't bother neighbors. Dh has a meeting this evening in prep for starting bowling again on Tuesday nights this fall.

Newest neighbors came by to grab a bit to eat last night - we pulled out all the leftovers and all made self-serve plates. They didn't stay long - his parents were coming by so they took some desserts and headed home. We also invited D, my dneighbor M"s dh, because M is out of town, but he had made plans.

We got about 10 minutes of nice rain last evening. Heat advisory still in effect today. My only trip out is for massage, I hope!

Hi! Thank you for starting us off today Twin's Mom!

So... we continue to melt here. Today it's going to be a humidex of 114F! Ugh!

Earlier I tackled some paperwork. Then dh decided to get up, so we sat at the table together. He wants to get to the bank and go get some ground meat on sale. Same distance away as Niagara Falls, but in the opposite direction. Lots of back roads and farmer's fields.

I need to get back to the paperwork once we are done putting the groceries away.

Hi, Twins'. I'm kvelling over some things, some not-so-much.

I ironed a tee-shirt today. Yes, me. The champion of clothes-ironing-avoidance, having to iron the most shouldn't-need-ironing item, unless you count socks. HRH had to leave for a blood draw and suddenly, um... .. no nice tee. He didn't want two layers (heat), just a solid tee that was socially acceptable. Unfortunately, they'd all (all) been forgotten when he did a laundry load. He'd put them in the dryer but only turned it on for too short a time, and forgotten them until they all wrinkled. I really may need to take his laundry back over again.

If it works out after the appt, HRH may stop by a grocery and try to find some of the produce we've been so disappointed over lately.

Our green-eyed boy came yesterday afternoon and tried on the shoes we gave him. They fit and he's very pleased. These are nice golf shoes. He's really loving playing golf these days. It's a puzzlement to us because it's not baseball, which has been the only sport he seemed aware of for his whole life. He was kvelling over a drive his Dad managed to get on video with one of those apps that will show the trajectory of the ball as it arcs toward the green. I couldn't see the particular reason, but HRH was pointing out to him what he'd done right.

That's our last grandchild birthday for the year, so now we have a break until HRH starts obsessing over Christmas, vying with ddil for who can get the shopping done quicker.

lucylee, I'm the cornbread-maker in the household, so that's done for him in advance (I grab a wedge for myself), and remember, he doesn't put meat in anyway, so that makes it simpler. I guess the celery/onion chopping takes him the longest, but he is not a perfectionist on that. I notice you mention canned biscuits. That's his favorite. I sometimes think he would rather have those than BoJ or Har dees. Not so for me. I like my own, or one of the fast-food types that are usually pretty fluffy. He is the least impressed man in the world when someone make biscuits - it's just not fair, lol. He was influenced by bachelor years.

Have not done a basement walk about .

Qt on the deck for some & moved the swivel rocker out front under the shade tree and
finished up there so nice! Got the walk way cleared to the kitchen door too win win!
It's good to change it up a bit.

Had to eat right away after our walk as I forgot to bring a snack with me.
I'm good now that's what the rocker out front was so good this morning.

d dogs want to play but they get too hot too fast. (played ball once with them)

Good morning! Started to post yesterday, got interrupted, and that was that. Maybe I should suggest a dose increase at my next appointment with the psychiatrist, but the Concerta seems to be helping, whereas the Adderall did nothing. I at least seem to have an easier time getting started with things and seem to be losing track less.

In the pension saga, the marriage certificate finally came this weekend, so all that was left was to get DH’s notarized signature and send everything in. So DH brought home the notarized form yesterday — and the date was wrong. And not just off by a day or two — it said 7, so I’m guessing that she just automatically filled in the month? That won’t do, as his signature must be dated after mine, which was the 23rd. I’m hoping the notary can fix the date to read 27. I don’t know what I will do if she can’t — I didn’t think to make a copy of the blank form, and the pension website only has an option to upload the documents, not download any.

No payroll to do today; I checked. We will have our biweekly meeting tomorrow, and maybe I will get a hint of when I will see something else.

Cathy reminds me to be grateful that it is not as hot here as it could be. Our expected high is supposed to be in the high 80s, with the humidity making it feel like the high 90s.

Harriet, my condolences on the ironing. I feel the same way.

I see Nancy and blessed are both working on hydration, after a fashion.

So no ta-das yet, and I’m not sure what’s next on my agenda: possibilities include working with DD on her room, doing some laundry, attacking the pile of papers next to me, or making a DPC to the cemetery — it’s been a year, and her niche is still not engraved. (I paid for it when I paid for the niche.) Oh, and I need a drugstore run. Eventually, I will need to pick DC up from their girlfriend’s; DC and DH will pick currants this afternoon. I hope they have not shriveled to nothing in this heat.

We're already up to "feels like" 104. Back from body work, hoping it will help. My hips, lower back, legs, and feet are achy.

Dfriend A (of A and V) is here helping dh. They were going to hang the TV but have thought better of it, and now believe the best bet is to call a professional. They're working on the faucet in the powder room, dh indicated it was leaking. I hadn't noticed. Now they're looking for more stuff to fix, lol.

I'm heading upstairs.

Ugh, before I could get up there dh and A went to the screened porch to start working on an outlet out there. It's wired through the bonus room, which is where I go to get away. So no going there for the time being.

Two diff kinds of guided journals.

I've been out to the mail box 2x to mail a letter and to fetch mail & can is back
from the curb.
I cut branches down trailer it half unloaded now.
I put them in cans for future weeks to go to the curb.

Two more empty ones I can fill later...
maybe in the morning when it's cooler and shady.
Counting this for progress.

No mopping or vacuuming happened however later...
I have a plan for lunch I think but not hungry now.

Poor HRH came back home looking like his arm had been in an accident. He says they told him one vein "blew out". What on earth does that mean? No, no... .. don't tell me, I don't want to know. He said after that they used the smaller needle that he had told them he wished they would use, before they even got started. So maybe that finally helped. Anyway, multiple blue colored wrap-around bandages he's leaving alone for the time being.

He did still pick up a few items at grocery, most of which are okay, and I am grateful. Still, I can't get anyone to HEAR me about the greens I would like to have. He made the same mistake paid shoppers make, bringing home "curly" kale, which I genuinely don't like at all. I had written "smooth leaves" on the list, but he said he was still confused at the store and when he saw the word "kale" he thought that ought to work. It's like a bush, a fluffy shrub that won't fit in the fridge. Perhaps next time, a paragraph of explanation on my grocery list? I'm really looking forward to my own shopping.

Mystery, could you simply say to Notary that you think she left out a numeral? To me, that would be a reasonable addition for a notary to make in correction. Not that she is changing a date, but that she is correcting a numeric omission. I certainly hope it's no big deal. I don't believe I've ever seen currents growing, how interesting.
