Goodbye to July Thursday PWYC

Post by Twins' Mom »

Today is the last day of July and wrap up for the month, planning for the next. What challenges will August bring? How have we successfully navigated July? (Eeeek, a month since dh's retirement already!)

Not connected to today, but this was quoted this week on a blog I read, and it's very apt and I keep thinking of it...
“No one really warns you about this part of adulthood…the part where you start to feel homesick, not for a house, but for a moment in time. A version of life that doesn’t exist anymore. A place you can’t return to, and a feeling you didn’t know you’d miss so much until it was gone.” ~https://www.facebook.com/croner.woman/

Awesome start to the end of the month Twins' Mom!

Today I was up earlier than usual. As soon as I saw what time it was, I got up and got fully dressed so I could take all the compost, garbage and recycling out. I just heard the first truck go by, and that is almost always the recycling truck.

We have a long weekend coming up, so today would be the better day to go to Walmart.

We were finally able to sleep with some windows open. When I got up in the middle of the night it was pouring rain. It is still raining on and off, which is fine with us. Right now the weather reports are focused on smoke from wildfires causing a high AQI. Rain will help with that.

All litter boxes got deep cleaned this morning.
Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Litter boxes never stop.
Paper never stops.

We got rain and a T storm last night. DMillie had to snuggle up on me for comfort and was trembling for a few minutes. Chance of rain continues today and I think the high is only expected to be high eighties to ninety.

Dcleaning lady is taking week off since she got in an extra cleaning last week, and we'll be away for nearly a week too. She suggested coming tomorrow, which was fine, but I also said if we wanted to skip this week and pick up in two weeks it was fine. So I'll see her in two weeks. House is not in bad shape....

I still have workout today and I'm feeling so stiff and sore still. Hoping I can work some of that out with the trainer. While I'm out I'm picking up the stainless tub from the caterer and dropping off the trays that were left behind.

Yesterday I got the hair appointment rescheduled to tomorrow, and this a.m. I scheduled a pedicure for tomorrow early afternoon.

CI up early again could not get back to sleep so I watered & then walked.
Journaling happened out front in the rocker and I had a bit of insight that the
arms are lower for more comfortable knitting in that one over the more recent
new to me one. Interesting discovery!

Got a vid. of an owl in the tree in back seems to show up at dawn,
the sunrise was vibrant pink, and a squirrel came to visit while I was journaling.

Put away the mops as they are dry now.
One cup of water before coffee today.
Finished class I heard part of last nite on CE.

Waving!

Good morning!

Today is test result day. DD14 and I have done a combination of 7 medical tests between us over the past month or two. We will receive all the results from those tests this morning. I jotted the list of tests down so I can remember to get the printed-out results from all of them.
DD14 - Memory (does she block out things or is there something else), abdominal sonogram (looking at possibility of fatty liver), lung test looking for asthma confirmation, an extensive list of blood work tests.
Me - Routine heart related testing. EKG, carotid ultrasound, and echocardiogram

Well I just finished my lunch and am taking a break.

I started taking a multiple B complex vitamins the other day and I am definitely feeling much better.

I had planned to go to my gym class this morning, but couldn't fall asleep till after almost 2:00 last night. I had no desire to get up at 6 and ended sleeping till 8:00

Although my ADD really kicked in this morning I ended zooming around and getting much done. Stripped and remade the bed, have done two loads of laundry, cleaned out my two kitchen junk draws and washed the plastic basket I use to keep everything in there. Watered my lanai plants, picked up a ton off footprints and put them in their proper homes.

Tuesday after the gym, I came home and tacked my closet. Ended up with 3 lawn size bags of things for Goodwill. Also went through many of my drawers. Pitched shoes, handbags and a variety of clothing. I must have 16 long sleeve shirts...black is my favorite shade of Pink  Ditched some but have decided to wait until fall when I plan to go though all my long sleeve shirts. Right now I have them packed away in several boxes and it will much easier to decide what I will keep at that point. I need two that I can wear when I dress up, and two just to wear every day. Gonna go through all of the colored ones I have and do the same.

Also went through all my pants and shorts and did the same. Now I need to relabel my boxes and put them back in my closet. Thats after I finish sayingHI.

Got my music stand yesterday and spent more than an hour playing my piano. I remember where all the keys are, but have a terrible time reading and remembering the bass clef notes. Found some tutorials for reading notes and spent almost two hours playing sight reading games. Really helped and the time flew by. Even found a game I could put on my phone and played way too long last night. But I am happy with the progress.

Waving to yall.. don't want to loose my mojo. Need to gather my labels and marker so I can fix my boxes and get my closet back in order. Once that is done and hopefully I don't run out of steam, will head back here to my office. It looks like a bomb went off in here!

Twins...I've seen that quote before and found it to be true, especially as we get older. I had a great childhood, though not necessarily with my father, and had great memories of times, adventure and friends.

LadyM... hope the tests answer many of your answers. That's ecxciting/

Good afternoon!

That quote hits me in the feels, Twins. Thanks for sharing.

Sounds like a pleasant morning, Nancy.

I hope all your/DD’s results are good, LadyM!

I had Korean Buldok ramen for lunch. In addition to the flavor packet, there is a packet of Buldok sauce, which is a wee bit spicy. As in, the packet holds at least two teaspoons, if not a tablespoon, of sauce, and I used maybe a dozen drops. I don’t think that even counts as “white people hot,” but it was cream carbonara flavored, and I didn’t think much heat was warranted.

I’m on my phone now; I’ve got to get on my computer soon to reply to the email from the cemetery. They sent a proof of what the engraving will look like (very nice), and I have to sign and return it. My phone is not handling the PDF the way I’d like, so computer it is.

I have dinner in the crockpot and a load in the washer. I checked on work, and there’s nothing in my inbox yet. I need to clean off the table in front of me so I can fill it again, either with wash to fold or papers to sort. I should feel more accomplished than I do. Then again, if I compare myself to Rose, I’m a piker!

Waving to Cathy, blessed, Harriet, and all who come later!
