Re: Love Hearts Sunday
Love Hearts are a type of confectionery manufactured by Swizzels Matlow in the United Kingdom. They are hard, tablet-shaped sweets featuring a short, love-related message on one side of the sweet. They are an updated version of Victorian-era conversation lozenges.
Production of Love Hearts began in 1954, 26 years after the formation of Swizzels Ltd. The company was initially in factory premises at Star Lane, Canning Town, London, moving later that year to a larger premises at Drivers Avenue, Plaistow, London. During the Blitz in 1940, production relocated to a disused textile mill in New Mills, Derbyshire, where it is still located.
The production of the sweet is based on the pressed tablet method, similar to many pharmaceutical products. Granulated sugar is ground to a very fine powder and separated into lines for each flavour of Love Heart. Colours, flavourings, and other ingredients are added and mixed, then fed into a machine where it is compressed under high pressure. At this stage, the message such as "Be Mine", "Love You" and "I Surrender", is imprinted onto the front of the love heart. The front is then highlighted in a red food dye so the message is more legible on the sweet. After the highlighting, the different colours and flavours are randomly mixed and packaged to create a variety for the consumer.
Special edition Love heart packs were launched for Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding in 2011.

Re: Love Hearts Sunday
* * * Good Morning! * * *
Kittykatt, thanks for the start ! I googled love hearts to see what they look like. I had never heard of them.
Sunny Sunday. Pas week at payroll was uneventful, boss being on vacation. I still have one week togo before two weeks off. MrNG is home with both kids all day and slightly depressed about not seeing any suitable job offer. As work is not very busy, with almost half the staff on vacation, I spend some time each day searching activities and visits in our vacation area : first week in Belgium is close to the Netherlands and Germany (Masstricht and Aachen), second week, still in Belgiumn is closer to Luxemburg (city) and French border. The kids will probably four countries : NL, Belgium, Luxemburg and Germany - they were complaining earlier this week that they had never left the country, so that's good.
TADAs
tea and bfast with MrNG talking about money and jobs and how our families influenced our choices and our fates in life...
searched ideas to get kids out of the house today (yesterday we walked to a place nearby to pick blackberries)
searched for ideas for the last week of August, too, back from Belgium and one week left before school : no plans yet
TODO
try and cuop a bit
weekly stuff in the house + extra cleaning as we have friends coming over for dinner on Tuesday
prep-prep lunch
fold small camping tent the kids and I used Friday night in the garden
feed kids when they emerge from bed

Re: Love Hearts Sunday
Hi L.Ann. Enjoy your walk with your friend !
I had a walk myself, alone. Then some house cleaning, not much. MrNG cooked us a quick meal. Made 1 payroll lunch, hoped to make 3-4 but the garden isn't providing as many zucchini as I had hoped. Trying to settle fights between the kids and maybe more cleaning.
We had plans for at least an hour of biking, the four of us, like we did last weekend, but it's hot outside.
TADAs
10 mns cuop
walk
lunch
prepped one payroll lunch
some house tasks
TODO
weekly stuff in the house + extra cleaning as we have friends coming over for dinner on Tuesday
fold small camping tent the kids and I used Friday night in the garden
menu plan, help MrNG with online grocery order
review camping gear with MrNG, see if we need more items?
hopefully : quiet time, relaxing shower, early to bed

Re: Love Hearts Sunday
Morning all. I am back home now. Back to my usual awake too early routine. I woke up before 4 again. Just too wide awake. Feels good to be in my own space.
I enjoyed my time away. I really did. So good to see dd and dsil again and watch him do so well at taking care of her. They are a pretty happy team as well. We did do some projects there. Kept busy.
Then off to fil place was quieter. My higher pace cousin was booked solid then . We did get to see our bible school friends when we first got up there. We saw dh one uncle and aunt. And another of dh friends. The rest of the time was focused on fil. He is healthy. But his almost 84 years is catching up and energy is waining. Not much drive to be active. Time was spent visiting. Quiet rest and relax. And figure out what the next meal would be. Somehow up there that kinda lands on me. Fil is used to cooking for himself and wants to provide what we like. He doesn't always have everything on hand because he doesn't use the same things. Or it's been in the fridge way too long. I failed a few times finding the right things cause I don't do well with lunch at best of times.
I think I fought a little anxiety with no plans too much downtime.. too much not knowing what to do with food. And the ongoing stress of family from home. But good other than that.
I was just so ready to be home. The drive was good. Costco was expensive and I was very thankful ds 15 was motivated enough we stocked up on meat and he portioned most of it. My cats were very hard on the house. Floors were bad. And I accidentally rushed out of the house having left the entire pre cleaning till morning. Missed the soaking fry pan in the sink.... ewwww. Plus I think my pet sitters forgot about the garden some. The pets were great but the flowers are needing some attention to come back to life. I think they will be fine mostly.
Sunday morning now and I have let my music team couple do it with just the 2 of them. So I won't hurry to prep that. Need to do some catching up after the pets. Revive some plants. And unpack properly. Then figure out what the rest of the day brings.
Priority list
Basic routines
Catch up kitchen all the way
Clean cat boxes and take garbage out
Fertilize outside and rescue my flowers
Casper walk he missed me
Church and catchup with whomever is there
Today's tada list
Soak in tub instead of shower
Unpack my bags most of it is clean
Tidy laundry room and master bedroom some
Start laundry

Re: Love Hearts Sunday
Yes, enjoy walking with your friend, L Ann!
FFB, it sounds like you make healthy lunches for payroll with fresh produce! Your vacation sounds great! Dh likes Bruges, Belgium; I've never been in Belgium. Did you find interesting things to do in NL? I've not been to Maastricht and the far southern tail of NL.
Have a good morning at church, Kitty. And enjoy your Sunday lunch!
Welcome home, Lauralind! I'm glad the trip was good overall. It did sound busy. Glad you're letting others do music at the church today. Hope you can do some catch up.
Yesterday, I got one shelf area in the refrigerator pristine clean! It felt so good -- but took about an hour, believe it or not. And it's not like it was super gunky or gross. We ate leftovers for dinner, and afterward we went to DQ with dd27 and M. I didn't get anything and had a lower calorie treat when I got home. Sitting at a picnic table at DQ, we heard all about the long history of M's love life as she'd been out all day with a young man; they decided to be just friends.
Today is quite scheduled. We're going to the Anglican church so will be out 10 - 12:30/1. (I'm hoping for closer to 12:30.) Then, I'll go visit my mom. We're hosting CG1 3:30 - 6-ish and then Sunday dinner for up to 8 people 6 - 9ish. I think. . .If the Cs aren't available, we won't host dinner. M helps heat up food and get things ready, thank goodness; we can't jump straight from one hosting event ending around 6 to the next starting at 6. LOL!
Currently, dh is out on a long run of 10+ miles. I need to jump into the shower.

- duo
- update health apps
TaDas!
- up; weighed self -- bounced up again.
I should just stop mentioning it. LOL!

Re: Love Hearts Sunday
A little better. Waiting for ds to get up so i can get his laundry. I went outside and plucked a few weeds in the one flowerbed. Checked the pots. The tomatoes will be ok just need some fertilizer. I should go back out with the water can and fertilizer not sure if the sprinkler maybe didn't water all the pots evenly so the flowers and the couple tomatoes didn't get enough.
Another random thought... dad took mom on a visit trip too and if he didn't turn on the water out there .... hmmm oh well...

Waving to lauralind, helia, L.Ann, Frenchie and kittykatt!
I'll try to write more personal posts, but now I need to jump in. I've been MIA all week, but we safely handed over our kids to the scouts last Sunday, and we've been having adult fun (read: movies, binge watching TV shows while ordering pizza, and a weekend geteaway, and, the very pleasing adult fun for me, ruthlessly cleaning out kids' rooms!) ever since!
We just got home from our long weekend at the lovely town of Cesky Krumlov: https://www.visitczechia.com/en-us/thin ... lov-unesco with its UNESCO protected historical center, which is like one of the loveliest places I've ever been to, and that is me having been born in Prague! But we only have till Saturday, so I gotta get at it.
TaDas
- a castle visit in the morning
- pack our stuff and load the car
- trip home
- small grocery run
- bags unloaded
- laundry sorted and running
- internet time and coffee
ToDos
- afternoon routine
- 15 on general deliveries and pick up
- 15 in garden
