Oh wow, I didn't realize William Shatner was 94, Bama! Sounds like a good time with Dd2. How are your turkeys? There are 2 wild turkeys that have taken to hanging out in our front yard during the day, which makes me think of you and your turkeys. There are several large flocks of wild turkeys that roam our neighborhood so it's not unusual.
Admin stuff eats up time, Kitty, imho. I don't list it all here, but communication and piddly things take up a lot of time. WTG on rewriting the description for ebay! Glad you got some outside time.

trissie, are you at payroll today? Do you and dh have anything fun planned sans kids today?

It's sunny with a high of 81*F today! 67*F now, perfect for jogging, which I'll do soon. Even though my visit with my mom yesterday was a bust, I don't think I'll try again today as I have lots of things to do to get ready for my trip and for a new class at payroll -- hopefully. Especially if it's a MWF class; I'm hoping for a T-Th class. Groceries, laundry, progress on the fridge would be good too. Tomorrow will be scheduled with PD meetings, packing, sub plans, getting ready to host Tuesday dinner, and the weekly get together with S and J -- maybe? (Maybe not since we'll be together Wed - Sat.?)

Morning all. Thanks kittykat. I've noticed pansies seem a little sensitive. Heat and overwater as well. Sometimes they give up in a pot if they get too much rain. Deadheading is on my list for today. And I will take out the ones that didn't make it. I have some coleus rooted that might fill in some holes and the pansies and lobelia are getting buried under ginormous wave petunias in the ground.

I think I will consider you all greeted this morning. I'm struggling a bit with feeling awake. I was sleepy and tired the whole time at fil place I think from not doing enough. Dd place was good cause we had stuff to do. And yesterday I woke up so early. Tried to force ourselves to stay in bed a bit this morning. Then got up and gave dh a haircut before shower.

I have lots to do today. Before work again tomorrow. Deadheading. Berries. My floors everywhere need mopping they are bad from unsupervised cats. Gotta go check on the greenhouse and mom and dad yet some time. Call him if he doesn't call first. Dh wants to mow. There might be beans in the greenhouse.

That does sound like a busy day of visiting, Gma. Good social connection, though. Something that is slipping away from so many people today.

You are on to me, Kittykatt, LOL. We are not supposed to have appliances. They don't explain why, but I can think of two reasons: they pay the hydro for most of the people in the building, so they don't want electricity costs to go up, and for appliances that hold water, they don't want floods damaging the building. That said, I really like gadgets, and I am very very careful running them. I'm the sort of person who sets up my slow cooker at night so that I'll be home if a fire starts instead of starting before leaving in the morning to have supper ready when I come home. My handwashing gizmo is not a serious washing machine that could compete with the pay-for-use washers and dryers in our laundry rooms. However, I don't want to be caught with them because of the housing crisis. I am paying under-market rent because I got in just before the rents spiked. A lot of landlords here are playing dirty tricks to get tenants out, because they can charge the new tenant as much as the market will bear. It resets the clock, so to speak. I'm in a really good building where they do the maintenance and they're not trying to churn the tenants, so I don't want to give them a reason to get rid of me.

LOL at the image of the all-you-can-eat buffet in bed. The last time I had one of those was in a revolving restaurant, so I've added the image of the floor-to-ceiling window next to your bed, and the cats watching the pigeons, LOL.

Wow, that's so cool that you got to see William Shatner, Bama! You know, he's always remembered for and teased about those ridiculous dramatic pauses from Star Trek TOS, but I've seen a video of him in a Shakespeare play before he started in Star Trek, and I thought that he was much better than Sir Laurence Olivier. So, the man can act. I think he got stuck in this one role that people kept wanting to see him in. And this is coming from someone who is on Team Spock, LOL.
It's great that your DH was able to take the time off while your DD was visiting, so that you could all spend as much time as possible together.

How cool to have wild turkeys in your neighbourhood, helia. We have them further out in the suburbs past the greenbelt, but not as far in the city as I am. We do have ducks in the pond in the park behind my apartment, though, which is nice.

We are having another weird weather day. The temperature is fine, but there's so much smoke in the air that it looks like it's going to rain. It's not. I did have the door open last night, but now have closed it and put the air conditioner back on. Germane will just get her normal short walk. And there's plenty to do in the apartment.

Laundry going. We had breakfast. Wandering slowly. I need to make myself finish the kitchen before going outside. I should mop too if I don't do it first off then it might not happen again. Stella was having some issues again. I missed a few spots and there were some from while we were gone.

Dh bought the wrong bag of food for the other cats. They were not eating as much either. Usually they had their morning breakfast gone but they were leaving more of it and Stella got more than she should have. It made her throw up quite a lot. Come to read the bag it's corn based. We stopped using it. Its really hard to make sure one cat of 5 is getting different food. Gotta get more strict again. Now I need to make the floor look better.
