Do the Deed Tuesday PWYC

“The smallest deed is better than the greatest intention.” -John Burroughs
or, alternatively, "The road to h-e-double toothpicks is paved with good intentions."

What are those things you're intending to do that haven't come to fruition yet? Today is a day to make some of those intentions "done deeds."

Well, today I need to do what I need to do to get ready for this trip. (I know, don't I sound enthusiastic?)

Sorry Vent ahead.....Emailed the board chair for the cemetery yesterday about setting up a meeting. We haven't had one since last winter and several issues need to be addressed. A board member IMHO has been off on her own working with an architect or someone to build a covered area at the cemetery. We need it, but the issue is that we lease all of the parking area to the adjoining university, so would need to negotiate the contract. She brought it up in the spring we decided to renegotiate but no definite plans. Now she has plans and is totally enthusiastic. A congregant wants to do it in honor of his wife, the woman who just retired after probably twenty years as cemetery chair. So this a.m. this guy, new chair person, sets up a meeting for THIS SUNDAY. The issue with the last two meetings that addressed one of the other issues was that it was set up days in advance - and I had other meetings/appointments, and couldn't make it. But that was month ago anyway. So I'm feeling disgruntled. I want a meeting, but he can't set up one up 5 days in advance and expect people to be there. Vent over.

I have a list but I'll be adding to it as the day goes on:
-straighten upstairs guest bedroom
-run roomba
-info for dog sitter
-round up a neighbor for some additional attention for Millie on Wednesday, Thursday, Monday and possibly Tuesday.
-cemetery f/s
-hostess gift for our host/hostess in FL
-pack, etc.

Good morning

Twins - wise words today. i needed to hear them! Thanks for getting us started today.

DS17 (!!) and GF just pulled out of our driveway. They are picking up another couple and will spend the day in our state capital city celebrating his birthday. DGS18 said he might make the 6 hour drive to join them.

I am calling in the big guns (so to speak) for the meeting this evening. DD14 has been talking to a friend from another state for over a year. They spend hours on the phone almost every day. It seems like a good thing because there is lots of laughter and nonstop chatting that happens. ANYWAY, that friend & family have traveled here to watch her brother graduate from basic training (army base). The two girls have arranged to meet in person at a park in the city this evening. There is 99% chance this is totally legit but I'm not willing to put DD14 in any kind of stranger danger. I've arraigned for reinforcement to be in the park to protect DD14 just in case it isn't as innocent as it sounds. If the internet girl is legit, then protectors will walk away and let the teens enjoy their IRL time together.

I've spent some time in the kitchen this morning adding to our ready-to-eat stash. Now there is a choice of spaghetti, zatarain's bourbon chicken, Jack Daniel pulled pork, ham slices, baked potatoes, green salad, and cauliflower.

Happy Seventeenth Birthday to LadyM's ds

(He's supposed to be a little boy, I thought, just such a short while ago. Right?... ..)

I will come back and post more, but this morning's appt was really good and I want to share about that.

HRH's kidney dr says, "I couldn't be more pleased" and then begins a series of one-word explanations for a long bloodwork/urinalysis numbers list, with lots of "perfect"s and "importantly"s. So, I just wanted to come in quickly and say, one thing (lol) is really going right for us. Dr kept pointing at the paper and saying, "look here, you've kept this marker good even when ... ..", and would give some potential obstacle or glitch that might have caused a problem but didn't. "Keep doing what you're doing." then looks at me, "Keep telling him to do what you're telling him to do."

Yes, LM very wise to have someone discreetly watching.

I have the roomba going and have mostly piddled. I have an alarm set for my appointment this afternoon, and afterward will go looking for hostess gift at a shop toward town.

Sent an email about cemetery plot sales and contributions. Something's not adding up? I'm so confused.

I'm going upstairs to straighten guest bedroom next.

Good afternoon!

Had to run DD to a doctor's appointment this morning. Apparently, it went well. She told me she had an appointment for a year from now. I told her that a year from now, she'd be driving herself and be on her own insurance.

Got some payroll work done, then had lunch while farting around a little on the computer. Trying to decide what to do when I'm done here -- go straight back to payroll or tidy the bathroom/see if DD wants to work upstairs first.

LadyM, I expect that if DD's friend is on the up-and-up (and she probably is), she will probably have her own parents or other adults around expecting to meet you. (After which, I'm sure, the two girls will want you to make yourselves scarce! :D ) Happy bday to DS17; I hope he has a fun adventure!

Harriet, I like that, "Keep telling him to do what you're telling him to do!"

Just remembered I should do chair exercises before anything else. (Yay, cards!) Off I go! Have a great day, everybody!

Home from a productive outing to next town.
** DH haircut and ears waxed (I am grateful for the SHE card that reminds me to make this happen every 37 days)
** Hardware store to get more paint. One of my daily SHE cards is to paint something. I am always fascinated how much progress can be made with small but consistent daily effort.
** Grocery store and deli to restock random items not available online or at Sam's.
** DS17 birthday cake and ice cream.

I am frustrated because I forgot the Klobasneks for DS17 birthday. That is the only thing he asked for. The bakery is closed now so I will have to get them another day.

Harriet - that is AWESOME news! Congrat's

Hi!

Dh and I went to a local mall (25 minutes on the highway is as local as it gets) to get some stuff removed from his phone. He always clicks on pop ups, and he had a lot of bad stuff on his phone. Now it's all gone. Until next time. We also got lunch at the food court. Before we went and did all this, I went to both banks and dealt with all the financial stuff for the month and I went and got gas in my car, so the tank is now full. Before dh and I came home from the mall we got gas in his truck as well. I think I did all the grown up stuff for the month all in one day.

We came home and we both tried to nap, but it didn't happen.

Happy 17th B Day to your ds LadyM!
