I have a number of "deeds" that I need to do this evening. Dh has gone to bowling tonight, and I feel free as a bird and not inclined to get busy, but I must.
Sleep doc appointment went well, my "script" for CPAP supplies is sent and I'll be able to get them when I get home again. Made myself a note.
I went to purchase hostess gift at a fancy shop and got a small concrete bird planter with succulents, and a candle. They packaged them in a pretty open box with shred stuff and it looks lovely. Dh is taking bourbon also. After that I went by the workout place and dropped off a key for the trainer that dog sits for us.
I still need to:
-pack for six nights, seven days
-water plants
-round up a neighbor for some additional attention for Millie on Wednesday, Thursday, Monday and possibly Tuesday.
-cemetery f/s, trouble there....
and others, I'm sure.
My fitbit battery was down to 6% so I attached it up to charge and need to get back to work. Right now....working to :30 after the hour.

Still going....I'm trying to update the HOA Post office box credit card number. Lots of little stuff done. Started a few things to hang dry overnight in washer. Outside plants watered. dishwasher emptied. Going back to work at :15 before hour to work 45 min.

Re: Do the Deed Tuesday PWYC
Home from DD14 meeting her online friend. It was perfect. The mom was as anxious as we were because of all the horror stories we heard about. DD49 came and agreed to stay with DD14 the rest of the evening. DH and I came back to our town and picked up DD14 class schedule and other school paperwork at "Meet the Teacher". DD14 already knows all her teachers, and the location of every single classroom in the small school so wasn't concerned about missing out.
DGS18 did make the drive to celebrate DS17 birthday. All the teens are headed here from big city now. They are hungry so we will take them out to eat when they get here.
I am pleased that it took me about 5 minutes to get the guest bedroom and bathroom ready for DGS18. I made sure fresh toiletries were in place and put fresh sheets on the bed. There have been many times in my life that I would be in stash and dash mode to prepare for an unexpected overnight visitor.

Exciting to have dgs 18 coming in for the birthday, LadyM, and you're ready for him! And a big happy birthday to ds17!
I have no idea what to take on this trip....they keep talking about going out to eat. I know most places are casual but OTOH I don't wear shorts much. I hope someone reminds me why we're going....it was "feels like" 105 today there...and I don't deal well with the heat.

Re: Do the Deed Tuesday PWYC
Do the deed... hmmm... This is something I need to remember, Twins, because I am always filled with good intentions. That is why my couch was covered in towels and underwear for two days. BUT no more -- tonight,
my couch is clean,
the afghans are folded and back in place,
toys are back in the kids' bedroom,
only a few dishes sit in the sink,
the kitchen table and countertops are cleared of all the junk of the last few days, and
all but one load of laundry is done.
I have texted with dfriend re: lunch tomorrow
and talked to dmom, who is going with us,
and texted teacher group re: meeting in two weeks.
Oh -- plus I repaired the curtain that fell last night when I swatted the biggest horsefly I've ever seen in the bathroom! (I got him, but I also knocked the curtain bracket loose.)
I also updated the map where dh and I always kept up with ds' engagements. It's a big USA map and we put pins in the cities where DS has played. DH became a little OCD about it, and I try to continue it.
So -- after dgrands left for the day, I did get off my ... and get busy.
Interestingly enough, I was just reading something the other day that went along with this topic --
The gist of it all was that everyone has bad days, days when we can't stick with the routine, days when we're sick or unexpected obligations occur, but no matter what is going on, we can still take small steps to move ourselves in the direction we want to go.
I can relate to the reluctant travel AND the short-notice plans, Twins. Our church has been sorta in the same boat, with this disaffiliation thing and now, celebration of our 200+ anniversary. (The date is somewhat vague and unclear as to when we actually broke ground for a church where we are now, but we have settled on 2021, and we were shut down for Covid so did not "celebrate" at that time. Now we are making a big deal for the end of August.)
Oh yes, LadyM -- I'd be very cautious but it does sound like all is very well. If dd14 is not making efforts to keep conversations hush-hush when you're around, I'd think the friend is completely legit, but I probably wouldn't let them out of my sight, LOL! * So glad this all went well! And glad your dgs is coming to visit also!
I am also having a little trouble thinking of your DS as DS17! HOW did this much time pass??? (BTW, I had to look up Klobasneks. I think that is what we call pigs in a blanket -- if he is asking for the sausage filled pastry.) (But if you are looking at a bakery, these may be the sweet-filled pastry. Anyway, I learned something today!)
Nancy, I love the sound of your journals. I'm still a very self-conscious journal-keeper, but I do write a lot of things down.
Harriet -- that is wonderful that the doctor was so pleased with HRH! WTG!
Mystery, are you following chair yoga on YouTube or something? I keep seeing an ad for an app when I'm playing games on my phone, but I don't want to pay for the app.
IKWYM about clicking on stuff, Cathy. Good that you got his phone cleaned up!
Well... my summer is over. Dgrands go back to school Thursday, but they are not spending the night with me tonight because they have early dentist appointments tomorrow, and I have plans with dmom and Dfriend. They went to meet the teachers today also, and seem to be very happy with their teachers. I hope they have a good year. This will be their last years in the buildings where they are now. DGD will cross the street to go to middle school next year, and DGS will be a little farther away at the * eeek * HIGH SCHOOL. It seems like just yesterday we were meeting him at the hospital and DS was walking on air up and down the hall, so thrilled with his baby boy. I cannot believe he is growing up so fast. Same with dgd, but she is not as independent as DGS, and she still likes her dolls and playing little girl things. We have played "dirty board" and "Headache" and restaurant, where she set up a McDonald's restaurant in the kitchen and had me sit down and she played waitress.
I know I don't do as well when they are not here -- sometimes I have too much quiet time and my mind runs away with me. But OTOH, I need a little more quiet time!
Hope you all have a great day tomorrow!
