I have dumped trash vacuumed living room & swept kitchen dining room & hall.
So glad to have some work done in my day.
I can do the bedrooms & bathrooms tomorrow.
It's windy outside here but nice comfortable temp. yea!

Like one of you said, sometimes I reward myself too much and sometimes not enough.
And sometimes when I have done NOTHING to earn a reward.

Today my dfriend and I took dmom with us to eat lunch and we had a nice time.
Since then, I’ve lain on the couch, napped, and watched tv.
— Well — not totally. My Tahoe was repaired and ds and I went to pick it up. New radiator and new water pump. $816. Sigh.
Also committed myself to fold and address letters for church tomorrow.

Gee, we are all getting ready for school start season, aren't we?

I think ds' children will have a few more weeks, but DangerBoy returns this weekend, and his brothers aren't far behind.

DgsonC (ddolder's middle boy) had entered the lottery for several years, for a public-charter blend in-person school and did happen to get in this time. It's a very large lottery because the school has a high rep and long history. So, this will be the first time any of my grands have been in anything but our state's schools, although for the most years her four have been online. C did have a few in-person years before his father's death. I am not sure he will be as happy as he might think, but it will be a new-ish experience, learning all kinds of new people. And no particular expense for his mother except I rather doubt there are school busses. Hmmm... .. Wish I could help with that, but nope.

I hope your dgs enjoys the new experience, Harriet. We have a sort of blended school here in our county. My teacher group toured it, and I was really impressed. The work-at-your-own-pace would be great for my dgs, but OTOH, the lack of structure would probably be his downfall.

Do any of you have the car repair insurance that is advertised on tv all the time? Endurance, something else that the guy from Law and Order SVU advertises, and there may be another one -- Ox something? The man who mows my yard has it, but I didn't ask how much he pays for it. AAA (which I do have) advises people to put aside $50/month for repairs. Currently, I have been able to set aside $500/month for general savings... for those big bills like homeowners insurance, car insurance, etc -- things that I was afraid I could not pay for without dh's salary. So far, I haven't had to dip into that, so I guess I'm doing okay. Plus, AAA estimated the cost of this kind of repair to be twice as much, so that made me feel better. OTOH, I just added up my receipts, and I have spent over $1400 on this Tahoe this year.

BTW... a new Tahoe costs almost $70,000. Like my dsisil, I may have to downsize when this one wears out.
