Ah, Bama, I see that you employ the same strategy as I do to stay cool, LOL. And I will accept that title back, as it took me until after 3:00 pm to start the laundry despite waking at nine.

Gma, if I remember correctly from the stories my db used to tell me when I was a teenager, Edison promoted direct current (DC), and Tesla promoted alternating current (AC), which runs at a lower voltage and is safer for the users. Tesla's technology won out, but Edison just used it and made the money off of it. My db has been a fan of Tesla for a very long time.

helia, I think that geography is confusing for most of us because we imagine the U.S. being directly south of Canada and South American due south of that. But I have recently bought a globe, and when I follow the longitude line down the globe from Ottawa, I end up on the ocean shores of Virginia and the Carolinas by L.Ann, and if I keep following it south, I end up on the western shore of Peru and Equador. And then I put that together with the fact that I used to drive northeast for two days to visit my db, and I still had all of Labrador between me and the ocean. No wonder I'm confused, LOL. You being better travelled than me, that probably seems less weird to you.

The sitting room is now clean and tidy. Everyone has been fed, and Matilda is on my lap . DH now wants a "proper" lunch box to take his packed lunch in when he goes down to the trains. He has a clip & lock box for tomorrow, and I've said I will look for a "proper" one for him (Lakeland do some that I can just throw in the dishwasher. I really don't want something that has to be washed separately!). I shall have to make a list of the things he needs. Fortunately, he is very pleased with the shirt, so I'll get him another from the same seller.

I'm glad that the weather gave you a bit of a break, Kittykatt, and that your DH liked the shirt. For the lunch box, I'm picturing something rectangular on the bottom but rounded on top with the handle on top? That's what I picture when I think of men's lunch boxes from the 1960s.
You have gotten a lot done, despite the weather. WTG!

This is the time of day that sun beats directly onto my patio door, so the portable air conditioner just can't keep up. I work a bit and then come back to the fan that is close to the A/C.
