It's better for everyone if I go to him, Bama.
You are so right. I hadn't thought of it, but a couple of times in the past I discovered potatoes had gone bad in the potato bin, and that is not a scent I want in my home, LOL.

Doggedly, learning about the town on the Hudson Bay in the polar bear migration route was so interesting to me yesterday! I told my dh about it, including keeping the cars unlocked. He also was amazed! Yeah - you don't mess around with polar bears. I don't think I could live there though; I'd be a nervous wreck. Probably a cold nervous wreck.
WTG completing your list, Bama. I'm not completing any list today.
Hi Peaches.
Oh, I hope they do hire some more help at the store, Lauralind. I hope the appointment for ds goes well.
Hoping you get that letter soon, L Ann.
That's pretty cool, trissie! Glad the lenses help you see. Dd29 wears contact lenses (or used to). In fact, all our kids wear glasses/ contact lenses. Dh and I just use reading glasses now.
I won't even repost my goals for today. I've only accomplished 2
- jogging the arb hill and finishing the GGT spreadsheet for payroll.
I'm going to go to WF to get a couple items I need for dinner tonight, start a lol (make progress on another goal), and then start dinner.
Next:
- strip the bed
- start washing machine
- WF run - quick
Later:
- strip the bed
- laundry: sheets
- laundry: towels
- Kroger (already have groc. list)
- put everything away
- reach out to F
- find bnb for weekend away with dh
- review the bnbs with dh; reserve in the evening
- remake bed with new topper dh wants to try in the evening
- payroll: figure out vocab journals
- payroll: start prep for IR D3
- email/ texts: MM, AA, SS
- clean 2nd shelf in fridge
- dinner: spinach and feta ravioli, homemade tomato sauce, roasted zucchini
- after dinner clean up
- bins back to the house
- duo
- update health apps
TaDas!
- up; weighed self
- coffee
- email deletions + weather website - it's cooling off, high of 84*F today
- summary of last visit with Mom for family thread
- back exercises
- reclaimed kitchen
- JOG the arb hill
- s2s and self care
- squeegee and wipe down shower
- lunch
- some qt

Re: Otto Wichterle Wednesday @ TDD -C&C
helia, I'm glad that you enjoyed the info about Churchill, MB. To me they are a fascinating example of people figuring out how to live with wildlife, and they ended up with a healthy industry out of it.
Some days we make progress toward our goals, rather than reaching the finishing line on them, and perhaps today was one of those?
WTG, Peaches
For me, today is a rare day when I'm crossing the finish line. I went through the big tub of pet things that I won in raffles for the animal rescues. There were only a couple of things to take out, and I dusted everything twice and set it aside to donate to the rescue tomorrow. Then I went through Germane's box next to it, found more donations to add, and one thing to send to the basement. I didn't find her purple harness that I've been looking for, unfortunately, but I'm still very pleased with that progress. I still need to check the extra dog beds and prep one or both for donation.
Wednesday
Hung the delicates
Booked car for holiday
Tried to book hotel
Changed week and booked hotel
Changed car booking
Texted brother to let him know about the change
Cleaned up after dog
Filled/started rice cooker
Filled/started coffee maker
Changed milk bag
Changed out kitchen cloths
Put away dry dishes
Put away rice cooker
Rotated the dry/ing tshirts
Changed out bathroom towels
Went through tub of raffle winnings: dusted everything, picked out a couple of things to keep, prepared the rest for donation tomorrow
Went through Germane’s box: separated stuff to keep upstairs, stuff to go to locker, stuff to donate tomorrow. Added it to the tub.

Hi Peaches!
WTG going through the tub and the box, Doggedly! I now think visiting Churchill, MB sounds fascinating!
I'm going to do duo and update health apps and then head to bed. I have figured out vocab journals for the reading students; they'll be more like vocab slideshows - each slide is similar to a digital flashcard. This method is new to me but I'm happy to experiment in the classroom. The previous teacher of this topic and level did this.
Out of my 8 goals today, I will complete 3 once the bed is remade. I have made progress on 3 more.
Next:
- duo
- health apps
- sheets on the bed - with the new topper dh got
More done:
- WF for a couple items
- bins already brought to the house
- stripped bed
- light sheets + towels washed and dried
- texted AA re: coffee
- dinner: ricotta and spinach ravioli, homemade tomato sauce, roasted zucchini (dh and I ate outside on the patio!)
- after dinner clean up
- payroll: figured out vocab journal

Re: Otto Wichterle Wednesday @ TDD -C&C
I meant to mention Hudson Bay too. What a great place to visit, as long as I keep my running shoes on. I’d love to see the bears.
Way to go on making it to the finish line, Doggedly!

I’m glad you and your db have a system that you can make work. I’ve searched for a smell before for days only to discover it was a rotting potato. Yuck.
Helia, the secret is to keep the list short lol. If it makes you feel better I didn’t finish my last list. I thought I’d look here to see what I put on it and told myself nope. It will be here tomorrow.
Just finished cleaning up the kitchen, loaded and am running the dw. Dh has gone to bed. Just watching some tv before I do the same.

Re: Otto Wichterle Wednesday @ TDD -C&C
Well I guess it was an ok day. I made ds hold to his agreement that he would go to the appointment. Which he did protest to and said he didn't remember agreeing. In the end I told him he had to regulate himself and he did. Got a nice new lady i think. And did well. Nothing needing attention. Yay. I'll let that settle and tell him tomorrow he did a good job dealing with it.
Came home and even found his creative side with the jam. He decided we could look up a recipe instead of needing to get the certo one. I got 8 pints of jam and then he strained some and made syrup. I think he should have doubled or tripled the cornstarch. And we threw in a couple mint leaves and lemon balm leaves. I think my jam is syrup consistency and they didn't all seal.
I ran the dw 3 Times including the one I should start again now. I think I'm tired. Well see i got most of the dishes in there. Might be finished in the morning.

Bama, if I ever write a horror story, the villain will be a rotten potato. Its main weapon of destruction would be potato salad with eggs in it. Gone off, of course.
WTG on all that you got done today.
That sounds like a successful day to me, helia.
WTG, Peaches.
I have lost my mojo, but I need find some and put it to use. I want the hand truck loaded and ready to roll out the door when the lady from the rescue messages me to say that she is on her way to pick it up.
Lauralind, I'm glad that your ds did well with his appointment (after some prodding.)
If the jam wants to be syrup, I'll bet it would be good on ice cream, but the ones that didn't seal sound worrying. I don't know anything about canning to know what you can do after the fact to seal them, but hopefully you will find a solution.

Re: Otto Wichterle Wednesday @ TDD -C&C
I'm sure the syrup will be good on ice cream, and on pancakes waffles and french toast. Also a spoonful will be delicious in oatmeal cooked in the winter
To try again to seal, bring the syrup to a boil, pour into jars, and try again with lids that have been scalded according to the directions on the box, and screw on tight. Let cool. I'll bet they will seal the second time. Unless the lids aren't good. There's enough sugar in jam to help preserve it. In "the olden days" before Ball made the lids we know now, jam was sealed with parafin wax, kept in the cellar, and used up in a year or 2, and it was always fine - because (enough) sugar is a preservative.
If you leave 1/2 - 1 inch space, you can also freeze it in canning jars
