Ugh. I'm just dragging this week and have been in a mood. Perhaps today will be better, dh went on to his 7 a.m. workout so at least the TV isn't on right now.

Annnnnd now he's home, lol.

Yesterday I didn't get checks printed for HOA so when I got up on the early side I went ahead and did that, so one is ready to mail, one to drop off, and another to hold until closer to due date.

Hi! Thank you for starting us off today Twins' Mom! I was up way, way too early.

I think I've gotten almost everything done that I needed to get done. Compost, garbage and recycling are all out at the road and the recycling truck just picked up the bag of plastic stuff.

Question... do any of you take vitamins or supplements of any kind? Dh refuses to take vitamins and he can't explain why. I take A, B12, C and D every morning. I also take an iron supplement at night.

Good morning!

I hope your mood improves, Twins! (On the other hand, that sounds a little insensitive -- go ahead and sulk if you need to!) :D

Cathy, I take vitamin D and a gummy multivitamin. I should probably take iron as well -- I got deferred the last time I tried to give blood.

Glad things are cooler for you, Nancy!

Checked in on payroll -- nothing, and I don't really expect anything more until next week.

Our DVR is fried, and it has the TV tuner in it, so no watching broadcast TV for us until I get that sorted out. It might just be the storage drive that's fried, but I'm debating replacing the DVR itself. Even if it's OK now, it's 6 years old, so I don't know how much life is in it. I'd hate to get a new drive and then have the unit conk out on me.

Of course, we didn't have much TV watching last night because our power was off for about 2 hours. OTOH, the ballgame was too rough to watch. I think it was 8-4 against when the power went out, and the final was 13-4. Ouch!

There's a stack of dishes in the kitchen I need to get to, and I would like to make something for DC -- every year our currants ripen around their birthday, and they and DH pick them. I hate for DC to go to all that work and get no benefit from it, but they don't like cooked fruit, and the currants are too tart to be eaten out of hand. So I want to run a few recipes by them to see if there's anything they would enjoy. Ideas include a coulis to serve as sauce for ice cream, a homemade Ribena (concentrated drink mix), or a granita. I'd like to put them in scones, but if I remember correctly, that's too cooked-fruit adjacent.

DH and I have an outing tonight -- the annual fundraiser for our local hunger center. It's pretty casual -- it used to be a picnic until it outgrew the pavilion. Still, it's a night out. There's an ice cream social at the beach club that I'm encouraging the kids to go to, but we'll see. It would do DD good to get out more.

Well, those dishes won't wash themselves -- have a great day, everybody!

Good morning!

DD14 is staying home from school because she still feels unwell, with symptoms of no fever, a sore throat, and low energy. My rule has always been no screens if you're home sick, and she's completely fine with that. On Monday, we stopped by Barnes & Noble during a trip to the big city, and DD14 made the most of it by picking out about half a dozen books. She ended up with a stack nearly a foot tall, so she's well-stocked with new reading material for her recovery.

DS17 is working on his homeschool assignments by himself. with GF.

I spent an hour in the kitchen this morning prepping dishes for the ready-to-eat stash. Eight servings of hamburgers and mac and cheese are all set.
Question... do any of you take vitamins or supplements of any kind?
Yes.
Women multivitamin
Calcium - doctor recommended because of osteoporosis
Magnesium
Vitamin D - once a week - prescription strength
Glucosamine/Chondroitin

I printed the HOA checks earlier but then got bogged down in the accounting/reconciliation for July. Entered everything I have for August and reconciled through today. All complicated by dh also at kitchen counter. He had two lengthy phone calls to make and then needed to print something, and couldn't get it to print. Of course, he hadn't set up the printer right and I couldn't get it going either, but then he didn't want me to, so I had wasted my time.

Anyway, that is put away for today.

While DS17 worked on his final assignment at the kitchen bar, occasionally asking me questions, I prepared a beef dish.

The first week of homeschooling is done. We finished at 12:02 pm today, and DS17 was out the door almost right away to head to work. He’ll only be there for a couple of hours since he has a 4:20 doctor appointment today.

DSisIL pulled into our driveway but decided to just call and talk on the phone instead. I'm relieved because with viral throat and sinus germs in our home, I’d rather she stay away. She’s undergoing more cancer treatment now and doesn’t need any extra exposure to germs.

howdy - waving at you all.

mom is coming home at 3:00 pm
found out the helpers we love will be coming over the weekend.
brother is being nice -

I can't handle the up and down of other people - I am glad mom is coming home - the stress has been a lot. - but there is good today - I am running with that. dh and I were talking about the emotional stress that I seem to be having. It's good that we can talk - I love him feeling better - his oxygen is high and all is good with him. what a blessing.

Next cards:
a heavy duty kitchen job of cleaning out cabinets
it is always a joy to be here with you!
