trissie, they kind of could turn around and leave, but it's not simple. They are backpacking so at certain points will be 12+ miles into the wilderness and away from the car. Then, it's a 10 hour drive home, so a bit costly in terms of time. Typically, we take 2 days to travel from the farthest point back home. So, dh would rather be committed (or not go at all) than have to abort the trip in the middle. Also, hiking 12+ miles in hard rain would not be a great experience. Any progress counts!
Doggedly, dh mostly has back issues, but he does also use some rolled up towels to support it while sleeping. I hope you can catch up on your sleep.
Happy celebrating with your mom today, Gma.
WTG on all your morning errands, L Ann!
How nice, an adult baptism, Kitty. I wonder if cats are psychic?
Hope your day is progressing well, Bama.

👋
Peeking in for mojo. I never know what I’m going to find you up to lol. It does appear you all have jogged the mojo and I’m catching dregs :P. Nothing much going on here but laundry and trying to Dremel dog toenails but they aren’t having it. I’ve been resorting to one treat per tiny touch to one nail which isn’t getting me far. It’s my own fault for putting it off so long. Folding dh’s clothes while watching something mind numbing on tv, just to break the silence, flipping channels as nothing good is on.

I'm watching an episode of Father Brown, and can recommend it, Bama. I'm happy to share mojo; I can't quite fall asleep but don't feel very energetic to do things.

WTG, L.Ann. Cleaning the cabinets sounds like a project!

That's handy that your trainer opened a gym so close to you, helia. Has there been a decision about the hike?

Thank you Doggedly. I had a little burst of mojo. Emptied one shelf of my curio cabinet and put items In dw to get the dust off. String white lights inside. Did a couple rounds of laundry. Made meatball subs for supper. Now watching jack reacher with dh while I wait on the next load of laundry to finish drying.

Doggedly, that would be fabulous if I could have a reduced spill cup for mother. But she is in a NH. The kitchen help bring her hot chocolate at breakfast, the aide staff bring her hot chocolate near bedtime. The only mugs they use and that get washed are the ones that the NH provides. I have wished.... Sometimes mom does well, sometimes she falls asleep while she is holding the mug, which is the most common spill.
I have a pretty successful solution, even tho it is time consuming: spry with a carpet stain remover first. Then put clear Dawn liquid on the spot. Scrub it gently with a fingernail brush and water. Soak in cool water - if it's really bad, in the bathroom sink overnight -Apply some detergent directly on the spot before putting into the washer, then wash on regular cycle. Check all the spots before putting into the dryer. Hang on the clothes rack to dry if in doubt, so the dryer doesn't set any stains.
We had a "pretty good" day. she loved getting flowers. Our Deacon came for a really nice visit. She had so much fun reminiscing with her wedding album. I think I need to copy a couple pictures so she can have them in her room. (Add another item on my todo list...)
I brought home a few more clothes, and will add them to my next load, which I can do now, and have them ready to return tomroorow.

That sounds like a very respectable burst of mojo, Bama. WTG! Enjoy Jack Reacher.

That really does limit your options to prevent spills, Gma. I'm glad that you found a way to deal with the stains.

I like Father Brown, Doggedly! I've just discovered The Residence on Netflix. I'm enjoying it so far. A mystery with an attitude and a lot of comedy.
Gma, my mom was given a sort of sippy cup at the beginning, but now she just uses a straw. She only drinks cold drinks here - I believe. She drank coffee once in a while at the other one. So glad your mom had a fun day!
Did you get the dogs' nails done, Bama? When we had dogs, we always had the vet/ vet techs do that. We weren't brave (or patient) enough to do it ourselves.

Dh called from their hotel; 3 hours drive tomorrow and then they will hike in. He did say that if the weather got too bad then they would hike out and figure things out from there. I was glad to hear him say that. After the floods in Texas where some campers got washed away by the river because so much rain fell during the night, I feel a little concerned. The heaviest rainfall is forecast for Sunday night when they'll be camping right where a small river runs into Lake Superior. I'm sure they'll be fine. The amount forecast is not even close to what was forecast in TX.

I'm going to bed. After payroll and my work out session, I got groceries, made a nice dinner for myself with leftover white chicken chili and roasted broccoli. I went for a walk this evening and chatted with dh on the phone a little later.

G'night SHE friends!

It sounds like you had a restful, quiet evening, which is unusual in your busy life, helia. I haven't seen The Residence, but will keep my eyes open for it. I did watch an episode of My Life Is Murder, which is has Lucy Lawless as a retired policewoman who keeps getting roped into solving murders by her ex-boss. It's fun as well.

I think that I'm actually going to head to bed and just start again tomorrow. Have a good night!
