Simple Saturday PWYC

Post by Twins' Mom »

Keep it simple today! A little of this and that, hopefully no big appointments or DPCs or silly errands happening! Add some time to reflect, some time with family. Make it perfectly simple today.

Thank you for that simply satisfying start to our day Twins' Mom!

I have done nothing and I've been up since 6 o\clock. No plans. Dh just had his coffee and a shower. Neither one of us wants anything in particular for supper.

I might go lay down and read.

Simply Satisfying is a goal Cathy! MIght change the title!

Late this afternoon we have a "cousins" get together at a lake house. This is with more distant cousins of my father - these cousins, mostly younger, their father was a first cousin of my father, hence they are second cousins that I really don't know. I'm in touch with a couple - one asks me genealogy questions about the family pretty regularly, and he made sure we were invited.

Dh is in a mood. He's not washing laundry the way I do so both of us are in a huff. And I didn't ask him nicely about tomorrow with V and A - I actually asked nicely but he was in the laundry room figuring it out so he didn't answer. And the TV is on again and he didn't want to go to grocery for me.

And HOA drama too. And now cancelled cemetery meeting for tomorrow.

I'm trying to update calendar for next week. Also must go to grocery store.

Harriet...I'm feeling better. Increased the amount of ibuprofen to combat the headache that wouldn't let go and it seems to be helping.

I see the dr. for a follow up appointment on Monday. My energy level is still pretty low and my guess it the infection is part of the reason. Its been in my system since January and I've been fighting it off and on with steroids and antibiotics since then.

Yesterday I ended up just being quiet and watching tv. Didn't feel like doing anything else and that is a concern to me. Got up this morning, folded on load of laundry and started another one. Also let Einstein do his thing. He is recharging and resting so he can finish his job.

Still have a few footprints to put away. Sweetie was helpful and washed the dishes, but after he dries them ,he just stacks them because he doesn't remember where everything goes. I can live with that.

Twins...Perhaps you could write an index card with the procedures with a list on how to do the laundry and put it eye level in front of the washer so your DH can remember and follow the directions. I have to do that for Sweetie.

I showered early and am ready to make a short grocery run. Ran out of cleaning supplies that I use daily and need to restock them.

We are making our way through the day. Slow and steady.

I stay mindful of DH's location and activities, which means keeping my focus on him. It's a bit like having a toddler in the house, requiring careful thought to accomplish even simple tasks while ensuring their safety. This morning, I needed to wash my hair, knowing it would take about 15 minutes in the bathroom. DH was asleep when I started but was awake and active by the time I finished my shower.

Sweet! At least he remembers that he doesn't remember. IYKWIM.
This morning, I discovered the cups in the bowl cabinet and the skillet in the Tupperware cabinet. I asked DH, "What if I put all the clean dishes away?" He agreed, but who knows if he'll remember later.

It makes me smile to see DH reading his book, which is such a wonderful sign. He hasn't been able to do that in the past 24 hours.

DS17 had his first experience doing repairs on the water gaps. I told him this morning to not wear anything he didn't want ruined and to wear his high topped water proof boots. Did he listen to me? Nope..... Sooo he learned by personal experience what I tried to tell him. He totally lost the shoes he was wearing and had to come home to change clothes before returning to repair the pass over (passive water system) for the cattle. Real life lessons is sometimes the best teacher.

Cathy, the issue is that he wants to wash on "normal" setting and I wash on "permanent press." I'm letting it go because I wash most of my things separately and hang them to dry anyway. My pajamas are the only thing in those loads most of the time. It's just disconcerting and I'm not good at change. I want things done the way I've been doing them, lol.

I got stuff for the Mediterranean dip from grocery and took my sweet time going through a Wendy's line. When I got home he had started the dishwasher - I intended to do that after the prep for the dip, lol. It's just little things and part of the adjustment of having him underfoot more. I'm supposed to be thanking him for those things, lol. I need to just take it in stride, and stroke his ego a little. No one has been thanking me for starting the dishwasher or doing laundry.

Need to get in the shower and get ready for the lake. It's going to be hot out. Should shave legs so I can do a skort, but shaving leaves them red, even with the best razor and lotions.
