It's been another warm, sunny day, although not quite as hot as yesterday. DF CW is back from her holiday, and we had a good catch up chat -they had a very good time. Ive made a coffee tray bake , and also lemon meringue crunch (I really couldn't face making pastry in this heat, so the crunch base with crushed digestive biscuits makes a good substitute. And I managed to have some time just sitting in my garden this evening. Ive also finally cut Jude's nails, after very determinedly not thinking about it over supper!

Who knew that 30 minutes was 2 hours??? And I'm not done yet.
I won't be "done" but I am nearing the end of the first round of moving, sorting, discovering, and some tossing as well! The counter has almost all been wiped off for the first time in this adventure. There will still be sorting and placing to do, but it's a first step.
I found a top that is brand new! and bought at a store that closed 8 years ago.... But I like it, so I can still wear it!

I'm remembering when my mother and aunts helped their mother clean out the house before selling it. My grandmother was very much a seamstress. Acutally contributed to the family income with mending, alterations, sewing. Grnadma had a "stash" in an upstairs cubbyhole. My mother would ask, what's this for? Grandma would answer, "I was going to make something out of it." I'm discovering lots of "I was going to make something out of it" pieces. Wish I knew what those somethings were going to be????

Grandma was moving out, to live with her sister, I told my sisters, it's more like I'm moving back in, after the years I was mostly at Mother's, helping and caring for her, plus all I have continued to do while she's in th NH.

trissie, I'm rooting for your whole family, with the rare occasion that the grandparents show up! And I am remembering what my 16 year old said upon returning from an international trip with his French class. (Forgive him, FFB, he was 16, and he didn't know how nice you are!) His first words off the airplane were, " Paris is dirty, Frenchmen are rude, but I'd love to return to Switzerland someday!"

I have now uncovered my cutting area, bit by bit, and washed the entire surface. Unfortunatley, I have had to return much back to the surface, as I am not sure where to put it. But it was totally covered, and now abotu half of it is clear, so I have a wrok space for other areas that need attention. That's a HUGE accomplishemnt for me, at least in my mind! I'm going to go to Caribou and splurge on a strawberry lemonade, half price this afternoon! as a treat to reward yself. Then go see mother, with the clean clothes I have for her.

Well my day didn't go as planned again. Jam is done. Laundry is done except I had wanted to wash my mattress cover but I missed ds when we were shopping and he put a load in between.

Hopefully my jam is done good enough. I put the jars in the oven to get hot through for sure and got sidetracked. Barely started another picking of berries. I forgot them too long. Hopefully I didn't wreck it. Got more berries. Then ds and I went shopping. Soon as I got home dad calls. He was going to go shopping but mom didn't want to. He hadn't been all week. Off I went to watch mom. He was gone a couple hours again. I did vacuum and spot clean and swept. Did the bathrooms. Now it's supper time and I did no details in my own house.
