CI / had grated zucchini & egg & cheese scramble for my yummy breakfast.
Did find the street I was looking for yesterday no yard sale, but took ddoggo and she was estatic for a drive!
New place for her horses to smell and River on the way home for a bit made it even more fun and changed my perspective.
We walked in my safe neighborhood.
It's warming up.

I'll be un-knitting the bit I started last night in a while.

It's fun to read your posts.
I put that apple out front for the animals.

I've restarted the knit project!

Oh my goodness. I lay down to read on the bed next to dh who was already reading. I told him to wake me at 4 IF I fell asleep. He kind of laughed. Then I promptly fell asleep. Woke up and it's raining AGAIN! Walked out on the bedroom and asked dh if he could hear the rain. He turned the TV down and he still couldn't hear it until he stood up and turned around to look outside, then he heard it.

I just made myself a cup of hot tea.

Part of today's problem is that it is overcast and cool. We didn't go anywhere and I don't feel like doing anything.

I DID fill the dishwasher and turned it on this morning. So I could empty it.

I also could empty the dryer and put away all the clean clothes.

I could also clean 1, 2 or 3 litter boxes.

Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and a mixed green salad made up Sunday’s meal. I didn’t feel like turning on the oven to cook the meatloaf, so I shaped it differently and cooked it in the air fryer. Everyone gave the meal two thumbs up and said it turned out excellent.

DD14 has an appointment with her trusted counselor tomorrow after school. I’m preparing notes for the meeting since there’s a lot to tell her. The three of us will meet for the first five minutes or so, where I’ll give an overview of recent events and my thoughts. After that, I’ll leave the room, and DD14 will meet one-on-one with the counselor for the remainder of the hour.

DH has 3 medical tests scheduled for this week.

DS17 needs to have blood work done at lab in the city. That will happen this week too

I have 16 homeschool assignments planned and ready for this week.

After being filled with the sounds of church, our Sunday was filled with the sounds of baseball. Sadly, the Guards were swept by the Braves. Right now, the only sounds are the tapping of my fingers on the keyboard and the hum of the air conditioner.

I should text DC soon to see if they want to be picked up before or after dinner. They've spent the weekend at their girlfriend's. I'm not that fond of their GF. I don't know why; it's obvious she deeply cares for DC. There are a myriad of potential reasons, most not flattering to me. The most acceptable one is that she's a dozen years older than DC (or, to look at it another way, she's half again as old as DC ). But she's also more obviously queer than DC and of a different ethnicity and a different religion... and she's from New Yawk. I like to think I'm just prejudiced against the accent , but I worry that I'm more prejudiced than I like to think. On the other hand, I worry that her rubbing me the wrong way is because she's pinging some deep-seated Mama Radar that's trying to warn me of something.

The only thing I accomplished yesterday was getting and installing a new disk drive for our DVR, which works with the new disk, so I don't need to replace it yet. I still need to get to those currants, and I'm behind on laundry. Laundry, I think, comes first. It's easier to interrupt.

Am I reading that right, blessed? That your brother has a wife and a girlfriend? And they're both giving you a hard time about your mom -- oh wait, on second reading, maybe not? And you have to bite your tongue about the girlfriend? Sheesh! A level of uncomfortableness sounds mild!

Your DH sounds as sweet as the strawberries, Cathy! Maybe making up for the other day's sour?

I've only been to the UP once, LadyM, and not to that part, but it was pretty -- and, I bet, a lot cooler than OK! Are your DH's tests relating to the current episode, or had they been scheduled before?

Hello everyone Dh dgs and I went to church this morning and left the handyman putting up a new gutter at the back of the house. There is change at church, another church is joining with us, we are mostly older apart from dgs and the new congregation is mostly young people with a young vicar. The new vicar was with us this morning and dgs is greatly taken by him and is pleased by the youth activity and they are going to get special headphones for him (he is autistic adhd and about 2 years delayed). Dgs is part of a computer club tomorrow for the second week. I will be glad for him to start his new term, he has been given a wonderful pastoral team at school since his mum died. This afternoon I made a veg soup and carried on with the weeding in the garden which is given over to fruit and veg bushes and raised beds. I feel as I did when the children were small and there was so much to do but I am 40 years older! I only have to put clothes in the washer and set it going because the weather forecast for tomorrow is sunny and dry, and to set up dgs breakfast then bed. It is my intention to get to you all more often.

Hello to vergerswife. So good to see you and hear the good report about your dgs enjoying church activities so much. It would be wonderful to have you hang out with us more often.

Ds' family had a big day in church today and our green-eyed boy was baptized along with his best friend. They sent us a (just personal) video of it after church.

Dbil visited here today. He is going to try to find out whether he could ride with HRH Friday when we have conflicting appts. He could drive back if HRH's eyes are very dilated, which they very well may be after a lot of testing. It is the appt in which he will have the injection of dye so that photos can be made of eye interior/back. Dd27 will be with me from 11:45 to end of day, and in a completely different direction.

I baked a cherry pie (Billy Boy, Billy Boy). HRH was so appreciative - his favorite. He said, "that hit a special place", lol. It did not have a soggy bottom ("no soggy bottoms" is a Great British Baking Show saying).

Mystery, you've got a genuine trifecta of ordinary parental concerns there with age difference, religion and distant geographic region/famiiy, long before you get to ethnicity, so don't beat yourself up about it. You're normal as rain, and a wonderfully open and caring person. I don't know what we would have thought of a dozen years, but my late dsonil was 8 years older than my ddolder, and I'll be honest with you, even that seemed a lot to us since she was in her very early 20s and he seemed so much more experienced (jaded?) in life. With family so distant, we all admitted to each other early on it was going to make their attempts at staying a presence in everyone's lives difficult. And it certainly has. But in our eyes, maybe nobody was going to be good enough? The attraction was obvious because of his high intelligence which truly challenged her, although I have heard him referred to as "insufferable" after some family game nights, lol! HRH would call what you are experiencing "spidey sense". It doesn't make you bad, it makes you discerning. And the fact that you don't want to put too much stock in it means you have wisdom of many kinds. ((hugs))

50% older at that age would be an issue for me with my kids, Mystery. But I do kinda like New York City - to visit! Dd27 went to school in NYC for 4 years, loved it, and would love to get back there -- but I'm not sure she will. (I think she's also happy here.)

Just saying "hi". The UP caught my attention of course! I'm off to bed; I have payroll tomorrow until 1:45 pm. Then hopefully a jog (shouldn't be too hot), and perhaps work on cleaning the fridge.

I got notes from one book written down.
Started putting them in a comp. note book from my notes of Q's that were on work sheet q's pages.
Now I do not have to write in the actual book.

Had tuna salad San. for dinner it was tasty.
Glad for mild temps. today.

Some classics on TV were good today.
